    Excellent review of an excellent pressure washer. I use and repair, (I uploaded a project about repairing a similar machine on a TH-cam video-tutorial). Model Nilfisk E 140.3, (they are practically almost identical machines, differing only in the quality of some components, such as high-pressure gun, high-pressure hose, engine power, etc.) This machine belongs to the top in the hobby class. For home use, it will serve you for decades. Its biggest advantages are high cleaning performance, (well-balanced bar pressure and water flow), robustness, simple but excellent design that allows even complete laymen to DIY repair any problem at home, availability of spare parts, even years after it is discontinued, and induction brushless motor with an extra long life, a metal pump and, in the case of this Gerni 7300, an excellent, flexible up to 12 meters long high-pressure hose (in some cheaper versions of Nilfisk, it is not as long and, worse, not as flexible as in this Gerni model). These machines are sold in various small modifications under brands such as Nilfisk E 130, E 140, E145, E 160, Nilfisk D, P class, Husqvarna PW 350, Stihl RE 130 plus, Gerni 7300, etc. I also know many people who use these machines for professional use, e.g. in detailing operations, and have been satisfied for years. I was repairing an 8-year-old machine that was used on a daily basis and after a while, it started to pulsate I was surprised at how easy it was to fix any problem on these machines (compared to other pressure washers). I think that whoever decides to buy this machine will not regret it. Distributors know that they can afford to put a 7-year warranty on it, as it is really a very successful and high-quality machine. I am attaching a link to a video tutorial on the repair (how to disassemble it, how to change the oil, how to change the start-stop valve, Non-Return Valve, how to change the Inlet and Outlet Valves, etc.) of the version of this machine that was sold under the name Nilfisk E 140.3 in Europe. Hopefully, it will help someone in making a decision, or in repairing different versions of these machines. I wonder how you recorded this review (what camera and how you hold it when recording - the picture is very steady) as it is well recorded and edited. Greetings. th-cam.com/play/PL59Co9iveKeo2B4wvzHleZdYWYqd1OOtF.html&feature=shared

      That's really helpful information in your comment. Thanks very much... I'll pin this so others can read it first. 👌 Also, I simply filmed this on my Samsung Galaxy s22 mobile phone using a stabilised setting, and most of it was recorded using a cheap $2 neck mount which gets the POV Shot.

      @@jelreviews How's your long term ownership on this going? I bought my unit May 2021 and have it replaced/repaired 4 times now. Same failure each time - pump goes into overdrive (while I'm not on the throttle) and it eventually blows an inlet tube and leaks water everywhere.
      Gerni was bought by Ozito in 2019 and is solely distributed by Bunnings. Ozito doesn't seem to care about the issue, and I've noticed negative reviews being deleted.
      The worst part is that the unit is so expensive that Bunnings won't straight swap it - you have to send it in for repairs which takes minimum 6 weeks each time.

    • @jelreviews
      @jelreviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mickwerle4493Hmm, mine is still working strong and haven't had any issues with it. Sorry to hear about the issues you're having, and it definitely sucks to lose it for 6 weeks. I do have another cheap chinese water blaster that does exactly what you're describing, not sure what's causing the overdrive either, but it still works.

    • @mickwerle4493
      @mickwerle4493 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jelreviewsthanks mate. Bunnings definitely had a bunch of returns at some point. You'd think if there was one bad batch, that I wouldn't have had so many consecutive issues.
      It seems like an electrical problem, rather than a mechanical one.
      All the commercial quality units tend to have a blow off/surge management system to prevent this. If it craps itself again, I'll buy a kranzle. The unit works well for me when it is actually working!
      Cheers!

    I was torn between the gernie and the karcha. After reading reviews on Bunnings about katcha always getting internal leakages I went with the gernie7300 like you have. It had very little 1 star reviews so that’s what sold me. Oh and the 7 year warranty feels good to!

    After seeing your review l went out and bought one. Like you say; well built and robust. Used it yesterday for the first time on a concrete patio, it did a cracking job and in next to no time. With a seven year warranty you just cannot go wrong.
    My only one quibble is l thought these were made in Aus. Turns out their made in China, slightly gutted when l saw that label.

    soaking the concrete before blasting or wetting it with liquid pool chlorine or diesel for 1/2 hr really gets it sparkling clean.... let it dry for two days then seal it with Dulux Avista clear or tintable concrete sealer or 2 part epoxy or urethane that is uv stable.

    Great video, it's the first one I have seen that has given step by step instructions on how to assemble it. However, there are parts of the assembly that were not shown. Such as when to plug in the hose to the tap and the machine, and when to plug it in to the power point.
    I needed to see ALL the steps just on the Gerni washer. Do you have a video of all assembly instructions (on the Gerni only) after taking it out of the box. Thanks 😮

    • @jelreviews
      @jelreviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. No I don't have any extra videos on those steps you mentioned as they are self evident and doesn't matter in which order you do it. Simply plug in the power plug and turn it on, connect the hose to the unit and turn on the water supply. Then turn on the Gerni and you're good to go. There is no set order. The only thing I will add is when finished, turn off the water supply and then press the trigger on the handle to release all water pressure in the hose line, and then you can easily take off the handle and wind up the hose with ease.

      @jelreviews Thank you, I'll try again. I bought the washer 2 yrs ago, and it's still in the box. I read the instructions, but found I couldn't do it. I'm more of a visual person and couldn't find it online. Now that I've seen your step by step guide, it will be easier to follow. Thanks again 😊

      Which Kärcher model did you have? And how does the gerni compare to it? I’ve been set on Kärcher K7 but after seeing this review, I’m steering more towards the gerni 7300… seems like a better quality build and better value with more attachments.

    I have the (discontinued) made in Denmark 🇩🇰 edition Gerni Super 150.3 and still in pristine condition after 8 years. Still has the Denmark 🇩🇰 flag on it, warranty stickers etc. they don’t make them like those anymore.

    Thank you for this excellent review, just what I’ve been after as have been under the impression that Kärcher K7 was the top dog. Recently I’ve looked at the K7 compact model and was a bit taken back by the plastic hollow wheels compared to the Gerni. I’ve never had a close look at the Gerni in real life, this video gives a very good comparison. The patio head cleaner seems like it does a great job. I’ve used one with a Kärcher k5 and it didn’t do such a good job (there was no upgraded nozzles that could be changed over to). Over all, it seems like Gerni give more attachments and longer hose straight out of the box compared to Karcher. And seems like Kärcher accessories are more expensive in comparison to same Gerni accessories. Thank you for your detailed review, I’m now steering towards the Gerni 7300.

    Superb review. Tells you everything you need to know. Did you measure the hose to make sure it was the full 12M as stated?
    Regardless - GERNI just got another owner here.
    Keen to hear how these hold up over time.
    I’ve had a few Karchers and the plastic pump impeller always seems to give up around the 1-2 year mark, or if you don’t duty cycle appropriately and you overheat the seals - machine starts pumping water out of the motor.
    I’m told Gerni has a metal part - so I’m hopeful that this will be a long life machine. Thanks for a stellar review. 💪🏼

    The one thing that I don’t like with most waterblasters is their generic attachments, it’s a real shame they aren’t more universal, as universal fitting exist. I know you can get adaptors but shame they don’t include them.

    As a Dane it's quite strange or funny to find that the brand Gerni still lives on but only in Australia.
    30 years ago Gerni was a very strong brand in high pressure cleaners, but the company was absorbed by Nilfisk and that did not do anything good for the company.
    Here in Europe the same models are sold in black and blue colours as Nilfisk, produced in China.
    I bought a new Nilfisk last year, but after a few times use i went back to my 20 years old KEW cleaner (another brand destroyed by Nilfisk)

    I'm also interested to see how the straight head brush performs as I think that would be ideal for washing down my weatherboards. Have you tried it? and can the pressure be adjusted as I want to clean the weatherboards - not remove the paint?

    • @jelreviews
      @jelreviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers for that, I'm glad it helped! The brush head is perfectly suitable for washing weatherboards - it is intended to wash down boats and cars.... so the jet does not actually come out of that head hard, only gently. That's because the aim is to provide water and to manually brush scrub the surface, not to jet blast it. Hope that helps!

      Yes, I'm absolutely happy with this jet washer for the price. It still works extremely well. The hose does get a bit scratched up from dragging it on the concrete, but that's to be expected from any kind of rubberised hose on all washers. Otherwise, no problem at all with this washer. I'd buy it again if I had to.

  • @TheSydguy30
    @TheSydguy30 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Weird how you compare brass to plastic. Brass wasn't rusting you just need some brass polish to get it good again as it is made to last. Plastic will age and go brittle and crack and just disintegrate over time (then add to our microplastic problem we have world wide) so I do wish Gerni would get on board and stop making the plastic stuff. That's why I like the Masport a bit better than Gerni.
    Otherwise nice review.
