Nice, thankee much for posting that. I think it is really cool to see one race playing another race's music. Because, just because one area invented a style of music, it surely doesn't mean it just belongs to them and others can revel in it. Correct me if I'm wrong but it almost seems like taboo sometimes for people to step out of "boundries" of their own culture's music... \m/
This is what the world needs more of... go anywere on the planet and we all play drums... in such similar ways... this is an example of just a little exploration. I'm from the West Indies... I absolutely Love this. We can all relate as humanity... as One!! Peace & Blessings
Very uplifting. Like Doc said, it's always great to see a culture play a "taboo" type music from another culture. Even if one doesn't care for (or even hates) the ways and beleifs of a certain culture or cultures, that does not mean that the music from that culture should not be played and enjoyed. Music, however we perceive it, is universal: It's one thing we can all enjoy playing and listening to, no matter what the differences are between us.
heh heh. in my town we have drum circles... sooo much fun. nyabinghi is really fun. and when you have everyone holding a base like. (gun co co ro gun gun co ro) hehe then free stile.. man soo much fun..
and of course asian folks can do african drumming..have you see japanese taiko and thai percussion? come on people!! besides, it's a fact that Asians are are at least partially descended from pygmies.
