Hey bud, I’m javi the guy you gave a minnow to! I met you the other week and wanted to tell you that I caught a 22 inch striper on that minnow, you’re the good luck haha. I will continue to watch you, mistakes happen and the regulations are unclear. I am glad you owned up to it but it does not discredit your angling! Tight lines brother!
Mistakes happened that's life you live and you learn, keep your head up bro, the world keeps turning, enjoy life and enjoy fishing, I enjoy your videos specially since you go to same areas I go too.
Game warden few days ago told me that we can share 1 stringer long as we can separate the catches . Told him all of us fishermen have a big debate about it. And bag limit is when we choose to keep it then you are done. So if you catch one fatty keep it but its up to you to keep the 2nd one. Once you string it ....then you are done. Even if you give it away. But great information.
Here I'll let you have a lil secret. Store bought live minnows are good but not great. Go to the rice fields and catch your own wild minnows, their twice the size of jumbo's, you get multi species not just shinners, small pike minnows and most importantly they have that wild scent. You can't keep striper off your hook. And you save alot of $.
Don't do this, this is illegal. You cannot transport live baitfish to a different body of water. You can only catch them and use them in the same body of water or purchase live bait from a shop (with receipt to show). Don't get a ticket guys, save that money for more fishing gear.
So many people who don't know the regulations. Just watched someone keep 2 striped bass on a stringer then continue to fish for striper today. Once you get your 2 bag limit, you're done fishing for striper. Also make sure you check the size of your fish. Not every fish is a keeper lol.
DFG are people and will make decisions based on the rule/law and their feelings. In this case, you came forward and were fishing for striper, after all, they aren't sturgeon. You weren't trying to hide or be shady, so warning you get. Now if a warden came up to you and you don't fess up, that's another matter. BTW, I've only had success at Garcia Bend on pile worms first, then blood worms. Especially when the water level is high and clarity is muddy. They'll be right it front of you, 10-15 away.
tbh i feel this rule is kinda bs. If i'm there catching and im giving them to my fellow fisherman as i catch them as long as im not keeping a second fish for myself I should be able to continue until I decide to keep my second fish(or 10th). but it is what it is.
@@DriftmanX It's different with a boat because you always have a limit of people on the boat. If a boat has a 10 person maximum capacity then you limite is based on the limit of the boat which is for 10 people. On land let's say one person is fishing and he keeps giving his fish away and they have 10 people on land then you can see where the rule can be abused since the person fishing can keep giving fish beyond 10.
It's not a BS rule. It makes sure the bag limit rules are met and followed otherwise one person can keep fishing non-stop and this is problematic for fish that have a low bag limit. Imagine someone with a family of 8 fishing for striper and they don't limit by the bag limit then one person can give all 16 + 2 more fish for him or they can keep fishing and just giving away the fish.
Dfg don't play.. u wanna tell them u didn't kno, or wasn't aware... u kno what they gonna say.... If u don't, then u shouldn't be fishing. If u do, means u kno the law... Gameover. Cited..... That's what most will do to u... Warnings are RARE.. Unicorn.

Where do you get your minnows???
Aye bro, you live and you learn. Yes maybe you should’ve know but at least now you know. Goodluck out there and keep slaying them zebras
All good man. You live and learn

Hey, buddy keep going. That's how we learn.
Your good brother, we all learn something everyday.
Good info shared, we learnt these before from the game warden as well.

Don’t the land owners get mad?
It's also illegal lol

We all make mistakes so we can be better in the future. Keep doing your thing bro.
We know now. live and learn! Keep it pushing still🔥
Way to stay legal man. Anyone else would of said they caught the fish they gave away. Fish on !
Best way to rig a minnow?
Hook through both lips 👍
@isaacdeaver03 from lower lip to upper lip? Or opposite?
Lower to upper 👍
Keep it up brother.
Everyone makes mistakes. The people in the comments went to harsh on you in my opinion.
Spray garlic scent bang on night crawlers, it works
If the water is clear Pike minnows are bomb but dirty water Blood worms and sardine is best!👍🏾
We all human. We all make mistakes. You acknowledged it. You apologized. I don't wanna here about it anymore.....lol! Let's fish baby!
Don’t sleep on the night crawler. I caught three in that same spot with night crawler
That’s what I’ve been hearing.
Try Chicken liver 😜
Fr. Always get a box if crawler if you go striper fishing. They'll hit that more than blood or pile sometime
Sardines is the hot bait right now
Man you messed up one time..let's learn from it and move on..tight lines bro.lets go🎣
Half filet of sardine. Hottest bait

Same I seen a guy today give away 8 striped bass and keep fishing
U have 2 poles. Y not try casting 1 further out. I have waaay more luck that way. Garcia bend may be too shallow, an there isn’t really a big drop off
I’ll try that next time
Thanks for the tip🤙

I believe to be in the legal limit he should have let you reel in his rod so the catch is your and not his. Who ever reels the fish in it is theirs.
Hopefully DFG seen your video too so they know who you are 😂

It works as you mentioned on a boat, boat limit, seen same guy catch multiple fish for the crew until limits.

@@portalmasterry6765 i understand the rules. But in all honesty, it should still be across the board. But regardless, rules are rules.
Hell nahh so if I catch 10 shakers I can’t keep fishing for stripper yea ok

Most of the time if u call dfg they don't know shit, U got to talk to the wardens, they are the ones enforcing the laws not the office staff
Just catch and release like I do. No worries
Fuck minnows off the bank!! They are better for drifting in a boat
This shit is all common sense for the most part dude
