Mr PDP stalwart, what atiku is doing is not that he love Nigeria or democracy but fulfill a personal ambition. Also, obi did not gather the youth but he is the beneficiary of a protest votes and it is normal in present days that the youths are the most involved in social media.

You want the Supreme Court to use discretionary power to allow new evidence to favour your principal but you will not admit that your party and principal failed to follow the already laid down rule. Do you expect for an athlete who failed to abide by the rule of the game to be awarded the prize at the end of a race simply because you want the umpire to use their discretion? This Sowumi guy is a joker. Still, they will never admit defeat.

What in a race is discretionary? Spirit and letter of the law is where the Supreme Court has some discretionary power to make a decision if the letter of the law doesn’t align with the spirit of it when judging a case.

@@ABCD1234-user-x3v pls note that making a discretionary power in allowing new evidence is in civil case or criminal cases not in an election cases , it has being said many times, but because you are finding a corner way to work you preferred candidate to get the win . Then you will never read the law very well. My point is that election case is not civil. Pls note.

@@alabasofowora657 election cases are not civil cases, noted and I agree. It’s been mention many times they are in a class of their own. Knowing this I use it to support my arguement on why such cases has discretion different from civil. In the past “slavery” was legal in the US, but when checked against their constituents that said all men are created equal the law was interpreted and changed accordingly. Many cases have introduced new evidence to overturn life imprisonment cases. This Atiku case was brought to the courts in Nov 2022 but the courts used “pre-election matter, meddlesome interloper” as reason to dismiss it. Now it’s something else. Abuja issue and the pronouncement now means Abuja residents have a president they didn’t vote for pick their minister (while in other states, citizens pick their gov). The ruling is unfortunate to say the least, the courts have created a significant mess in their “interpretation” of the law. We will all find our way through its impact.

PDP are not a true people that prefer Nigeria over PDP. A loser who refuse to believe in tomorrow. What type of human being are this people , what are they teaching the youth. ? They didn't complain of both having jurisdiction to give a #4 defendant judgment in a case where he came forth in the poll, even when their earlier judgement had earlier their disqualified same defendant. Nothing is improved on in our electoral jurisprudence. I think, gone were the days of the likes of Esos, Uwais, jsc; the judgment has no substance and lacks credibility to help our elections in future.

If Obi didn't have agents at the polls and made his counsels not to provide results to court, what about Atiku that had agents in almost all polling units? It is bcos the result they had from their agents showed that tinubu won the election. So they would be hurting their case if they do that. They knew they would fail on that. So they resorted to hanging their petition on technicalities. But they met their match in court.

The fact is that the University admitted that the man attended their Uni. The issue of who issued the certificate was therefore secondary to the fact that he attended the institution. Maybe as a pre-election matter, it would have carried more weight but, at the stage of appeal against election results it was irrelevant. Did he win the election because he presented a type of certificate or because people voted for him? Was that the reason for the alleged rigging? Did he attend the Uni? (Yes he did). So how will anyone expect an election tribunal to forget about the voting and suddenly begin to call for evidence about a certificate that was never an issue before the Election Tribunal. Laymen can be forgiven for thinking that the SC could have acted irrationally but lawyers can't.
