When we first visited Guernsey, back in 1982. We went to one of those tomato farms. Believe it or not they were tourist attractions where you got a tour round the farm. I remember we brought a little fluffy tomato which we had in the car for years. Knowing my wife we've still got it in the loft.

Sorry to hear of your family ailments, no different here in Devon. Thank you for your interesting videos especially as I lived in Guernsey for 7 years up till 2006. My daughter still lives there so I do visit from time to time.

Hopefully, not serious. Covid is coming back everywhere. I hope there will be no restrictions to come from France at the end of the year. 2 years ago, I had to cancel twice my holidays and impossible to go to Guernsey. Good point : vaccination is very helpful.

Same issue with viruses here in Austria. Weird time of year for that as we have had super weather. Good job I havent caught anything (yet) as my lungs are damaged (COPD gold III) and a simple cough can cause problems.

I'm moving there soon and it makes me worried....the streets are very small and tight. I live in the Capital of South Africa called Pretoria and we have 12 lane motorways both sides some places, so that's going to need some taking used to

I remember there was a bus stop just outside the park not so far from where you turned in and my first sight was this beautiful building which as you say is a care home. It was around this time of the year I visited and the roses, flowers and grounds were beautiful.
Hope you all feel better soon. Take care.

Drive alongs always reminds me of my days with Guernsey Gas...biggest difference i found with Guernsey roads and Uk roads was houses dont have numbers...pretty much all the houses have names...trying to find customers houses was fun!...up and down the roads trying to spot the names!!

HI Ross your "Shocking Week" will all help to make your family unit stronger in the passage of time I am sure. But this "drive along" has given me personally a great boost as you appear to have driven past my well loved Grandmas old house! Only seconds into the drive its on the right side of the road with the scaffolding erected around it. So thanks very much Ross and God Bless you and your family. Kind Regards Richard Blackpool.

Fascinating video Ross ! - one thing I have noticed compared to where I live is the lack of combine harvesters blocking the road - this time of the year the roads where I live are clogged with them. Remember the "Guernsey Toms" adverts on TV ! Hope the family are recovering !

No bugs here thank goodness.. However 2 are off with covid at work. 1 of them is a total waste of space and would go off if his postmans cat was unwell.

Speedy recovery for the family. We have the same illness issues here in Nevada, USA! Wiped out my hubby and myself for a week. I love the roads in Guernsey as they are such a contrast to where I live. My first visit to Guernsey in ‘22, I spent lots of time exploring the avenues, couldn’t get enough. Blessings to you all.

Hi Ross - sorry to hear about Fallon and the kids being poorly, but 'tis the season for bugs! Roads where I live, in Buckingham, are based on the town's medieval layout so are as narrow as some of Guernsey's lanes, but away from the town they're wider. The fact that cars are getting increasingly wider doesn't help!

Lovely drive today Ross. Roads I remember. As soon as you said Pont Valliant Lane I guessed Verte Rue was coming up and yes, there was the house my husband to be, was living in when we first met back in the 50s. At 8.32 - on right with small front porch. His grandmother was in St John's Home in the park, for a few years before she died - we visited her there. I'm now in NZ and we have mirrors in some blind spots, but most roads are much wider than yours. Hope you and the family recover soon.

Have to admit I love the little place, so sad to hear that things aren't going so well at the moment. Best wishes to you all. Regards from Canterbury, Kent, UK.
