Dank U voor deze prachtige registratie van een stuk onder gewaardeerd waardevol Vlaams erfgoed dat gelukkig door eigen creatief inzicht overeind kan blijven. Deze familie heeft ten eerste een enorme materiële en immateriële erfgoed bijdrage weten op te bouwen, die typisch Vlaams is, ten tweede weet zij zelf die rijke geschiedenis en cultuur staande te houden. Na deze registratie gezien te hebben begrijp ik dat het meermaals aan een zijden draadje gehangen heeft of alles wat wij er nu over weten was verloren geweest, zou niet meer na te vertellen zijn. The joy which this video has given me is indescribable. To hear the musicians of Decap describe how they make their creations was totally unexpected. When I saw the dancing at 21:06, I cried for joy. Thanks for this fascinating video about mechanical band and dance organs! The reveal of the large organ at 6:20 blew me away. To me, it looked perfect, with all the pipes exposed and lit up... just beautiful! Then came the sound--- WOW. I have since researched DeCap organs on TH-cam and the Internet and what a discovery! Thanks for showing me something I never would have guessed. Love the sound, the dedication, the amazing work!
Excellent presentation on not only the history of Decap Antwerp pre 1920 & Decap of Herentals but also the wonderful automated musical instruments they have created we call Dance Organs, Many Thanks to Frans, Tony & Frank Decap who have spent their lives in this business, and I can see more little Decaps already to keep the tradition alive. There is a trumpet and a saxophone on the front of the organ that moves the valves and keys to the music, but they are actually fake. The sound is made by an electronic tone generator similar to the one found in home organs.
