I'd just like to say from my experience bring as little as possible, especially if you're in cosplay as well as wearing the bag. If its too heavy, that on top of cosplay is no fun. Easiest way to pack it down is just bring less of each item, you don't need a full sized bottle of 3 different pain killers and a whole thing of hair ties. Bring small travel bottles and a little case for hair ties, bobby pins, safety pins, etc.
Ibuprofen is always a must like even if you think you cant power through the pain just take it because it might get worse and like it doesnt just block pain it actually does help with inflammation that might be causing said pain. Dont feel like you're weak for taking it. You're not weak, you're smart.
I forgot to bring pads to the convention last year and i saw somebody left pads on the counter top...honestly that small act saved my entire day :P (sorry for the TMI haha)

There are some websites that will list out every single registered anime convention and their location! When first starting off, that's what I did to find cons near me. I would then look up con videos online to get an idea for the size, venue, and general vibe. If any particular con listing catches your eye, I would then go to their individual con website, as they'll typically list how many attendees will be there, which guest speakers are there, ticket prices, etc.

@@BeguruTeam well different sized cons have different plans of aproch. Hotel lobby cons are the smallest and thus easier to plan for new comers. Now your con centers on the other hand are much harder to plan for. For one thing you're not sleeping on site so travel to bed is a treck in of it's self. Next dressing up for cosplay or not you have to take in to account that outdoors, lobby exhibitors Hall and ballrooms are vary different temperatures. So early removable this like sweaters and ponchos are recommend.
I'm going to momocon in atlanta which is my first ever anime convention, does anyone know if they do bag checks? I'm going alone with two of my female friends and I want to bring pepper spray in case for the day, but I'd hate to have to go and they do bag checks.

@@BeguruTeam it went great I saw Christina vee and bought my first anime figure rem from re zero! But we had to walk a lot outside and we went on a train. I’m not used to that since i live in NJ lol
That's so valid, I completely understand that. You should look if your town (or a nearby town) has a cosplay FB group or IG page you can join. My uni town and my hometown often have meetups at local parks where we all just get together and cosplay and have fun! It's the same type of vibe as a convention, but on a much smaller, more intimate scale, and plus, most of the events are free (or are really cheap to attend)
