Spent like 2 hours on this guy.... The last story boss was cakewalk compared to this.
This boss has been an absolute revelation for me about the design philosophy of many of the bosses in this game. Putting the player in instances where they cannot make progress in damaging the boss feels bad. This is because a lot of the bosses are either in invulnerable states or they are on another plain. Why are they? Because the Emerald Powers would break most of them. I feel like the long, draw out feeling of no progression stems from the designers trying to get around how effectively the Emerald Powers would trivialize the bosses. They set themselves up for a challenge that, in my opinion, they didn't quite solve and it seems a lot of players are suffering for it.
I say this with utmost sincerity. This is one of the worst bosses I've ever had the displeasure of fighting in recent memory. The long wait times in between attacks and the lack of a checkpoint in phase 2 make this boss excruciating to fight. Really, all of the bosses suffer from the 'Tedium Problem', but this boss takes it to another level. The robot looks cool though.
@@supergenesisstation1991 Since I had to retry that boss so many times, I did get a better understanding of how to dodge the attacks. I'll provide you with a guide of how to dodge and counter each attack. Phase 1: Rocket Attack: You can dodge this attack by either double jumping before the rockets hit you or running right and jumping before the rockets hit you. Be sure to stand on the top of the small hill on the road once this attack ends. Laser Attack: Once Fang moves to the right or left of the screen, slowly move in the direction he went in so he appears at the top of the large hill on the road. Since Fang stays at the same altitude when he spawns for this attack, you can go under and behind him relatively easily. At that point you can just wait for Fang to activate enough of his lasers so you can jump in and attack. Clone Attack: Pay attention to where the real Fang is and stand in a position so you can double jump and hit the side of his ship when he moves downward. The timing is a bit tricky, but it gets easier the more you practice. Phase 2: Bug Badnik Attack: Keep running right until a Badnik spawns above you or close enough to you so you can jump and hit it back at Fang. Web Attack: If the targets are in a triangle surrounding you, stand on the top of either hill in the road and wait for Fang to shoot the webs. Once the webs are shot, jump through either gap between the top and bottom webs. If the targets are an upside down triangle with one of the targets being directly on you, jump just before Fang fires the webs so you can dodge the bottom target and create a big enough gap so you can avoid the top targets. At that point you can just run and jump to dodge the corks. If you get stuck in a web, you can try to button mash to escape, though this rarely works. Ball Attack: You can only hit the blue balls back at Fang. I would recommend positioning yourself so you are between 2 rockets to increase your chances of having a blue ball coming towards you. You can use the Avatar Power in this attack to easily hit a ball back at Fang, though I recommend that you do this only when you're close to beating the boss. Smash Attack: After you've gotten 6 hits on the boss (I think it's 6 but I could be wrong), Fang will use this attack after the next Web Attack. Make sure to move slowly so you can stop before hitting the edge of the screen which is where Fang slams his cannons. Be sure to not be in the middle of the screen either so you don't get hit by Fang's nose slam. After the nose slam, jump only once when going to attack the boss so you can use the double jump to save yourself if things go awry. Fang only uses this attack once or twice during the fight, so don't be afraid of using the Burst Power or Slow Power to save yourself from getting hit. Hopefully my guide helps you beat this dreadful boss and unlock the Last Story (spoilers: the Last Story sucks).
@@Dark_0verlordI'd like to add for the rocket attacks you can actually max spindash down one of the hills, not to mention when you get to the hill that looks like a road bump you just need to tap the jump button just when you reach the bumps slope. doing that allows you to get maximum speed and you can outrun the rockets Now as for the upside down triangle unless you're good on timing jumping just right before fang shoots his god awful webs, may or may not be risky I'm not too sure. (I never used that technique for his webs) I usually just run and keep momentum until the web reticle gets shot at me, and I easily avoided being trapped in the webs during the attack phase. Now for fangs most annoying attack the one I kept dying on his double smash down, the attack takes away so much of the platforms you need to be on 24/7 to actually survive this attack, and my god you need to hit his head as soon as his nose lands on one of the platforms as he staggers for a moment, this one i had trouble attempting to do judging by how little of space you get when he takes away most of the platforms. And as you said it's definitely best to make sure you have a double jump at the ready if you manage to screw up. But yea that's just some things I wanted to say otherwise interesting guide.
AAA company doesn't understand user experience. Sega thought Sonic + Dark Souls = Hard, but Dark Souls understands the player. This game does not. Sonic struggling to get over a half pipe because I lost speed makes no sense.

Honestly if it didn’t take SO LONG it might not even be so bad, but no checkpoints, and 3 instant kill moves on a fight this long and boring is insane aha.
As much as I appreciate the extra content, this Trip campaign I mainly found exhausting. It wasn't a fun type of challenge, it's just enemies and spikes being spammed everywbere and the insanely dragged out bosses, like this one. This game made we miss the bosses on the Genesis games, where you could get in about five hits before the boss even attacked, lol.
I didn't realize how drastically they changed the levels in Trip's Story until I started playing time attack after finishing the final story. I would like to know who in God's name thought spamming spikes and enemies all over the levels in Trip's campaign was a good idea. I wonder if this boss isn't actually that bad and everybody was just exhausted after that horrible campaign. I know I was ready for it to be over when I got to Golden Capitol, and that was probably the worst level in Trip's story. I honestly think they made her story this difficult just to pad out playtime to justify a $60 price tag.
@@broom673Trip'w story is still fairly easy thanks to having all the emeralds and being able to move along walls and ceilings, this fight is just horrendous.
@@Soniman001 The real value of the emerald powers is that they make all but the second hit of phase 1 free. Hits 1 and 3, run up to him and try for a hit right away, if you bounce off just dodge the lasers and hit him, free. Hit 2, do it legit. Hit 4, start up Avatar before he appears, turn around for a second so one spawns right on top of him, free. Hit 5, use Slow, free. Hit 6, use Bullet to jump over him, free. Phase 2 it's the same order. Avatar so you don't have to hit the headbutt yourself, Slow to dodge his final nets, Bullet if he headbutts again.
Another tip: In phase 1 when fang fires the spinning lasers, if you run and roll at the highest part of the path, you can get underneath fang and end up behind him. Just wait until all lasers are fired and then hit him. It makes phase 1 so much easier.
Sonic 2 with Knuckles is pretty hard, because he can't jump as high as Sonic or Tails. Making the final boss very hard, as your only opening for attack is when the giant robo bends down to attack.
It wouldn't be as bad if Fang didn't take an eternity to throw out attacks, let you have more chances to attack him, and if his attacks weren't insta-kill. Those three changes alone would have made this boss fight fairly challenging, and so much better to maintain.
Even The End/Supreme from Final Horizon wasn’t nearly as bad. Yes they don’t explain the mechanic very well, but at least if you lose… you can just rip through Supreme and try again. Besides, the visuals are fucking peak. This fight however is just straight up awful
This boss and Mysterious Figure from Birth by Sleep are the bosses of all time. They have attack patterns, arenas, and forms. I give them both a Pain/10.
I wouldn't mind the difficulty if they didn't make the battles take so dang long, and a 10 minute final battle should seriously be it's own level. (Having it combined with the last level makes it nearly impossible to beat in under 10 minutes, preventing you from getting a time bonus, which is just bad game design.) And they shouldn't make you repeat the first phase if you die in the second phase. It's ridiculous. Especially, with so many one hit K.O. attacks. I thought Eggman's final fight in normal mode was hard enough. I had less trouble from the bonus bosses in the Super Mario RPG remake. I can beat SMB Lost Levels and Donkey Kong Country 2's final boss easier then this. This one no matter how well you memorize the patterns, it's easy to make a mistake. I seriously never want to play this stage again after I beat it.
As of right now I'm struggling to finish this last part. I can safely say, F this boss fight, who the hell thought it was a good idea to give fang attacks that instantly kill you? This just makes me want to throw my controller at my tv. I've tried almost a hundred times to beat this guy and the furthest I've gone is when fang does that head bash out of nowhere. I get that trip's story is suppose to be harder but this final boss is stupidly hard, hard for the wrong reasons. This also would have been beneficial if there was a check point after beating phase 1. If you're gonna make a final boss stupidly difficult give us a check point after the first half. But if you can't give us a check point after the first phase than do away with the instant kill moves completely.
I can't believe that any of the developers playtested this boss and thought this was fun. Either that or I was completely fucking exhausted from the nightmare that is Trip's Story. Half of his attacks do not need to be instant kills.
@@Goochbot What is so bad about the true final boss? From a vid I saw, all of his attacks look completely easy to read and the rings are constantly spawning.
@@superstarultra The rings actually aren't that plentiful, and it's common for the boss to go into his fireball/void attack sequence and cancel Tails or Knuckles as they're throwing you some. The fight, like the other end bosses, is also incredible long and boring, like you're constantly waiting for an opportunity to get one hit in, while constantly dashing into any stray rings that fall. It ends with a poorly explained QTE type attack where there are no rings, and if you don't have at least 30 or so when the attack begins you wont have enough to endure until the last QTE plays.
@@Goochbot It doesn't help that half of his attacks are completely pointless. The worst most of his attacks do is bounce you around a little, so you're just waiting for the next window of opportunity while the boss does some long and flashy move. There's no risk, no threat, just waiting.
@@Goochbot Damn. Guess the guy I was watching was just good at the game (or just posted the best run). His ring count went into the 80s or so, which is why it looked pretty easy to me.
I figured out how to escape the webs! -Once caught, you have to immediately hold the D-pad direction in which you were previously running/facing (for me, it's left). While holding, mash (or alternate) A & B buttons (maybe use a turbo controller?). Now mind you, although I haven't had this fail on me, it is still just a technique. It's not 100% guaranteed. You may need to practice, and once you do break free, you still have to dodge Fang/Nack's arm cannon attacks. It is also really easy to accidentally run or jump into an adjacent web. Another strategy is to have your slow ability ready beforehand in case you get caught in a web, then activate it asap, giving you more time to struggle out. I really don't think this boss is too terribly difficult, (better than fighting Raven Beak a bazillion times, lol). Just follow the strategies in the video; don't let the boring repetition cause you to lose focus. Now you have one more tool in the toolkit. Good luck everyone!
It feels like when you’re playing Smash Bros with a sweaty tryhard and he mocks you everytime he screen KOs you. Literally the least amount of fun possible
You know, I'd take it if the boss theme slapped, but this 20 second loop is ear-grating. Really wish THIS game had a Juke Box feature. This thing would almost be tolerable with Generations' Big Arm remix or something to keep my brain from going numb. I just beat this thing and took to TH-cam to see what everyone thinks, and I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed with this tedious boss.
For the part where he shoots all the instakill lasers at you, if you position yourself so that Fang spawns at the top of the hill, you can then run towards and under him and not have to deal with any laser, making it safer and saving time. You can hit him inbetween the laser containers he already fired at the other side. Another safe hit is using the the last Emerald power immediately, also skipping the lasers. I usually do this last
Top of the tall hill, one panel to the left/right of Fang (whichever is farther), charge a spindash to max power, release as soon as he appears… This will put you behind him, now you just wait for an opening…
I agree. Sega why the frick did you NOT put a checkpoint in between both phases of fang? That was THE worst final boss fight I’ve EVER done in a sonic game.
No joke, this took me over 6 hours to beat. 6. Hours. Its not even that hard it just has some bullshit mechanics that took me ages to get used to. I might just be shit but this is one of the worst things I have ever experienced in a Sonic game.
I honestly would not even mind if there was just a checkpoint after the first phase. It is inexcusable to make you keep doing this long drawn out fight just to have another attempt at the real boss.
Welcome to our darkness. We spent our lives finding this guy, Trip! Previous years are the closest we've ever been to catching Fang. It's impossible! He... He's an incredibly crafty piece of shit. Hunting him destroyed us, Trip! But now we're gonna do it together! You and us! It's gonna take over your life, Trip! Sonic Superstars, Trip Story, hunting our nemesis! Maybe trying to stay healthy while doing it! Juggling plates! Not in the game, Trip! It could be all happening in the background or someone playing this taking a break doing it! Who knows? You know, n-no one will, except us! I-It's the most painful shit we've ever had to deal with and we're fսcking bringing you into it because you asked for it, Trip! You and us, Trip!
Exactly, if you're going to make a stupidly hard final boss to fight then give us a check point after the first phase, if not then do away with the instant death attacks. All this does is make us want to break shit out of rage and frustration and I highly doubt nobody wants to break anything.
As someone who got wrecked by Sonic 1 and 2 final bosses, I'd say your exaggerations over this final boss is ridiculous. I'm used to dealing with these unfair attacks in games like this.
@@leon4000 Ive beaten both sonic 1 and 2 aswell and those bosses don't take nearly as long as this one also you know what to expect as sonic 1 and 2 straight up don't give you rings
After that incident Fang ganna need to hire someone extra help, its ganna be bean and bark. Maybe they will appear in DLC or in the nrxt sonic classic games for the next 5 or 10 years
Yeah it would be like the dlc for Sonic mania. But Bean and Bark could be dlc bosses or something, add a fang story with maybe a playable Bark and Bean + another character, or just make Mighty and Ray playable. It does seem like 2 characters could fill the space on the tutorial menu.
My big problem with this fight is that it dosen't Really feel like a "Fang battle". Like when you think "A boss gets a giant mech that kinda looks like them" who do you think of? Eggman! It just dosen't feel to me like something Really fitting Fang
Were the devs trying to one up Sonic 2's Death Egg Robot? Because this is an easy contender for hardest Sonic boss battle in history. Long exhausting fight that has many "gotcha!" insta-kill attacks that reset your entire progress. The only good thing I can say about this is that this game is genuinely an old school game that will not hold your hand. True 90's game design right there.
I've been trying since yesterday but getting through the laser nets in the second phase is borderline impossible once he starts spamming four sets in a row. Trip's story is almost as horrible as the Master King Trial in Frontiers.
I thought I'm the only one. I stuck now in both games. In Sonic Frontiers with the Titans and the limited rings. And now with Trip in Sonic Superstars. The corks are killing me and the smashing with his head got me.
Well, I cleared my head and after a few more tries I beat it, and many more tries later I also completed the almost as annoying and equally checkpointfree Last Story too. I still think my indignation earlier is 100% warranted.
Hey thanks for this video it really helped me. Really hard boss but super satisfying to destroy it. When he hit the screen I gave him a HUGE middle finger with a smile
Oh my god, this boss is insanely hard and rage inducing. It took me probably 30 to 40 attempts and 6 hours for me to finally beat this jerk. This boss is no joke, I hate this boss.
Okay. I wanna be super fair about this cuz I know everyone feels the same about this, but this is by far, the most unfair, most exhausting and hardest boss in Sonic game history!! First let me start off by saying that I am extremely proud of Fang for achieving Final Boss Status since his last known game appearance decades ago, they really made my favorite character into an actual threat to Sonic and his friends. But unfortunately, THIS FINAL BOSS BATTLE paints Fang in both a good and bad color. Mostly bad. Why? You'll be impressed by how far he's come from when he started. He is now equipped with the most advanced equipment to make all other Bounty hunters quit their jobs in fear. Only to later be aggravated by the most unfair boss battle to ever take part in a 2D Sonic game to date! Between spending most of your time WAITING for an opening and trying not to accidentally walk RIGHT into any of his INSTA-KILL moves (seriously, I'd hate to discover if going Super can still get you killed!), you also have to constantly preserve your Emerald powers and use them whenever the opening presents itself on the last phases of this battle alone!! EXTRA is useful when fighting his holograms. You can land an easy shot when he flies down next to you. SLOW and AVATAR are perfect when trying to land an early hit when the Death laser drones appear around him. And this is all during his first phase. FIRST PHASE! Look, I will admit, The Marvelous Queen getting the ultimate upgrade and him owning a Death Egg Robot in his own image is a dream come true for me as a fan of Fang the Hunter. But gameplay wise, it was a nightmare. The Emeralds are all useless in the final phase! You can't use them in a useful manner to properly attack OR defend yourself! You so much as get caught in his web trap and that's it. You're done. That being said, defeating Fang can still feel incredibly satisfying once it's all over. To those who managed to beat him without the emeralds and in less tries, you have respect. To everyone else who suffered as much as I did until beating him, congratulations man, your frustration is valid and justified. You deserve that win.
I just agree with you. First part okay. If you know the Tricks. But second got me everytime. I wish the old fight backs like "smash how often you can". Like in Sonic Rush. I finished Fights in under one Minute. Miss the games...
Regardless, I am GLAD I never have to do this again. Its so hard and Super is basically useless. The final story boss was MUCH easier compared to this shit. Sure, I failed a few times but that was much easier since all you have to worry about is RINGS and you don't die instantly (Aside from the Black Holes which is reasonable that they WOULD instant kill you regardless in first phase) But compared to the final story boss and this. I had to be in "Gamer Mode" and focus in this boss. The final story boss, I was just recovering from my hate form this boss. The game is great, I love it, JUST FUCK THIS BOSS IN PARTICULAR.
@@nikogamer2382 I managed to finish the Fang Boss. Now I'm working on the final Boss. But I don't want to play the fight again. It took to So long for an attack.
To be fair, this boss shows Fang’s bounty hunter nature. No “style” that Eggman wants when he defeats his lifelong nemesis, just straight up attempting to obliterate his opponent in order to get his money.
I thought i was the only who didn't enjoy this story at all, so many unfair places where you lost your rings no matter what, those egg fricking robos man, and the same long boring stressful bosses holy cow, thankfully there aren't any ranks because that would be so painful hahahah
The Marvelous Queen and Mech on their own would be fair and challenging bosses, but fighting them one after the other just makes this into an annoying and tedious slog.
I got to the part where he does the head bash and died. Then the game immediately crashed. Which I took as a sign that it also knows how ridiculously tedious this fight is 😂.
If you got so far in the battle it means there were like 2 hits more needed to beat him. Giving up when you got so far in that battle would make no sense. Good luck to you
7:56 this bit is the absolute worst I get through everything else and then he pulls this nonsense, and i have no time to understand what's happening and how to avoid it next time Finding out I was two hits away is painful
I might - might - forgive the whole instakill fest. I'm asking for just one damn thing - a savepoint between the 1st and the 2nd phases. I don't wanna re-do the 1st one over and over again (and the more you do that, the more you tend to die to silly mistakes caused by sheer fatigue), I wanna have the opportunity to properly practise the 2nd phase. Is that too much to ask? I also hate the rockets in the 1st phase. I doubt anyone ever gets harmed by those (unless you're really tired and/or losing focus), and those are there simply to artificially stretch the time without allowing you an attack window.
The issue with those spider webs is when they appear at the wrong position and Fang decides to use three sets of waves in a row. The sloped arena makes nothing easier (you can't jump straight up), except when it allows you to bypass the insta kill laser attack by rolling along the descending slope.
Just going to mention this right now but who in their right mind decided to make Fang's attacks be insta-kills like I had trouble with this fight because it was a pain in the butt given how many times I died here and had to start over.
Honestly I really like this boss. I think it’s one of the best in the game. Sure maybe having the corks be instakill is a bit excessive but since the terrain is very wavy, his attacks can be easily be manipulated to your advantage and while there aren’t as many creative uses of the emerald powers as there are in the main story final boss or the first phase, they still can easily be used to get you out of a bind more easily. It’s a satisfying fight. Edit: Just to help all who are still struggling with this boss, your emerald powers recharge in the phase transition so you can use them once in Phase 1 and then again in Phase 2.
Just beat this boss and I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed it. The terrain helped me manage the fight easily. I actually did it without using emerald powers.
Yeah very frustrating boss, a Sonic boss hasn't annoyed me this much since the final boss of Sonic Rush, I can't stand how buggy his Droid attack is during his second phase, straight up bullshit
You think that's bad, the instant death attacks are what really give me rage and an aneurism. The rotating beams and the giant corks after getting stuck in the hologram webs are the worst parts for me. And don't get me started on the out of nowhere head bash that destroys the center platform leaving me to time to get away.
@@leon4000Let Mii guess, you are fully capable of defeating Sans in every modded Undertale Hell run first try with no previous knowledge of the battles…
Fuck this fight. I have this boss's attacks memorized at this point due to how many times I've died during it, but MAN! It takes a lot for a game to frustrate me and this boss succeeded. Maybe I wouldn't have hated this fight if there weren't nearly as many instant kills, or if the attack patterns were made clearer so that they didn't feel cheap, or if they gave you a fucking checkpoint after finishing the first phase.
I saw parts where you got caught in the web nets. I've had that happened to me a lot. Do you know A fast way to get out of that situation before Nack pummels you?
@@random6031-b3w yes and you can add the Joystick to move in one directions. But how I said it don't work everytime. So maybe it works or don't work. The best: dodge the weebs. And keep running if he starts to shoot.
@@random6031-b3w I hope that helps. I played so many Sonic games. From 3d to 2d, consol and handheld. I admit this boss is pretty hard. I needed 3 days for the boss with Sonic. Now it's 3 days with Trip.
I actually enjoyed this fight if I'm honest. Sure it's lengthy but it's not THAT long. It's chaotic but not in an unpredictable way where an attack is impossible to avoid. I actually prefer this one over main game final boss. The second phase of the fight is a bit easy to get once you know what to do like when to jump and when NOT to jump. I actually did it without using the emerald powers. So, this fight was enjoyable to me.
We all envy you, I got no enjoyment whatsoever, though I do have to give them credit for actually making Fang (aka "Nack") a threatening villain again. I remember in the old Sonic comics, he actually shot/injured one of Sonic's friends, so while he is known to be a bit comical/clumsy, like Eggman, he can be goofy, yet still dangerous.
I'd like to thank whoever designed this boss fight. You took an enjoyable level and (at first) boss fight and ruined it with your cheap, gimmicky, 1 hit kills. Why even give me rings before I fight if your stupid pink lasers or corks instant kill you? Why make me wait so long just for the chance of dying so stupidly. You couldn't have just designed a genuine challenging fight? You had be to hacks with this one. Honestly. Genuinely annoyed at this boss 😂
@leo0six after 3 days, I finally managed to defeat the boss. Careful though, there are also glitches. I glitched through the pink lasers without dying two times, his corks went invisible a few times and he played his end move twice, which took me by surprise and had me redo the whole boss fight again 🙃
I’d rather play paper Mario sticker Star, sonic boom rise of lyric, shadow the hedgehog, sonic chronicles the dark brotherhood, and dr robotnik’s mean bean machine than to do the final boss of trip’s story.
@@TrueSolunar Using the red emeralds power, you can clip through the wall, fly OVER the boss fight, and land on an extra level clear area, which was probably meant to be removed, but wasnt

Why is this stage so difficult for me, but you finish it so quickly that it took three hours and I have not finished it yet because I want play the last story😢😢😂
The bosses in this game suck. Some of them have good ideas but it's ruined by pointless waiting, like with that stupid missile attack in Fang's fight that just serves to waste time.

FACTS
I just got to trip's version of the final boss and I can't beat the first phase.
@@supergenesisstation1991 Since I had to retry that boss so many times, I did get a better understanding of how to dodge the attacks. I'll provide you with a guide of how to dodge and counter each attack.
Phase 1:
Rocket Attack: You can dodge this attack by either double jumping before the rockets hit you or running right and jumping before the rockets hit you.
Phase 2:
Bug Badnik Attack: Keep running right until a Badnik spawns above you or close enough to you so you can jump and hit it back at Fang.
@@Dark_0verlordI'd like to add for the rocket attacks you can actually max spindash down one of the hills, not to mention when you get to the hill that looks like a road bump you just need to tap the jump button just when you reach the bumps slope. doing that allows you to get maximum speed and you can outrun the rockets
Now as for the upside down triangle unless you're good on timing jumping just right before fang shoots his god awful webs, may or may not be risky I'm not too sure.

Same. It's impossible with multiplayer.
@@mdbsonic5772 I would love to do multiplayer on this one
As much as I appreciate the extra content, this Trip campaign I mainly found exhausting. It wasn't a fun type of challenge, it's just enemies and spikes being spammed everywbere and the insanely dragged out bosses, like this one. This game made we miss the bosses on the Genesis games, where you could get in about five hits before the boss even attacked, lol.
Yea the bosses felt too long in this mode
I didn't realize how drastically they changed the levels in Trip's Story until I started playing time attack after finishing the final story. I would like to know who in God's name thought spamming spikes and enemies all over the levels in Trip's campaign was a good idea. I wonder if this boss isn't actually that bad and everybody was just exhausted after that horrible campaign. I know I was ready for it to be over when I got to Golden Capitol, and that was probably the worst level in Trip's story. I honestly think they made her story this difficult just to pad out playtime to justify a $60 price tag.

For anyone struggling with this fight, just know your emerald powers refresh between phases, so don’t be afraid to use them!
What emerald powers are good against phase 2? You can’t touch him with anything
@@Soniman001Avatar is good for hitting the blue barrels if you have no rings left.
The powers aren’t really helpful at all for phase 2
Another tip: In phase 1 when fang fires the spinning lasers, if you run and roll at the highest part of the path, you can get underneath fang and end up behind him. Just wait until all lasers are fired and then hit him. It makes phase 1 so much easier.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but this might be the hardest boss in sonic franchise
I Agree.
Fang's moves are reactable though. MF is factually unfair.
You can't study MF. You CAN study Fang.
Mysterious Figure as Terra is infinitely times worse than this boss. Still hate them both.
MF is nowhere near as bad as Lingering Will or Yozora imo. But he does suck that you have to fight him THREE times for 100% completion
Fang in a mech feels wrong, but it firing giant corks feels so right.

@@Sylviemiranfr it's like a 2 out of 10% chance of breaking out of the webs. Just mash the buttons and hope for a miracle.
The only thing holding this fight back is the instakill attacks, if it didn't have those, this would definitely be one of my favorite fights.
I honestly don't even mind the instant kills, they're not that hard to dodge. But the freakin' _waiting_ is what really kills.
The webs are sometimes hard to dodge and hard to break free from.
It’s really a 1-2 punch for me. Just waiting and waiting and waiting to get instakilled.
But if you can't give us a check point after the first phase than do away with the instant kill moves completely.
kamen rider pfp spotted, respect earned
Just as I feel!
I can't believe that any of the developers playtested this boss and thought this was fun. Either that or I was completely fucking exhausted from the nightmare that is Trip's Story. Half of his attacks do not need to be instant kills.
I've not made up my mind about whether I find this boss or the true final boss worse. Either way, they're both awful. Devs should patch both.

My big problem with this fight is that it dosen't Really feel like a "Fang battle". Like when you think "A boss gets a giant mech that kinda looks like them" who do you think of? Eggman! It just dosen't feel to me like something Really fitting Fang
Well Fang clearly can’t beat Trip on his own apparently.
hes partnered up with Eggman, so I assumed that Eggman hooked him up with the mech

You can tell that at the end of the first phase perfectly it could be a Checkpoint there
@@ivanlv Basically since it refreshes your emerald abilites
I couldn't agree more.
Super can be instant killed too. Found that out because I was like, Why not.
Yep, Super CAN BE INSTANT KILLED!
Sure, I failed a few times but that was much easier since all you have to worry about is RINGS and you don't die instantly (Aside from the Black Holes which is reasonable that they WOULD instant kill you regardless in first phase)
But compared to the final story boss and this.

Sonic Superstars is great, unless it’s a boss fight.
This boss made me want to fucking die! (I still haven't beaten it!) :D
Hi, me from the future. I beat it the next week.
12 days, then I searched for this tutorial when I first reached the head stomp to see if he's hittable. Still haven't beaten it!
Uh huh!, I’m glad I came and looked… been playing Trips story, wondered if they changed the final boss. 🤣
This ain’t happening tonight.

Boss fight really taught us a lesson atleast it's more merciful than dark souls

I'd like to thank whoever designed this boss fight. You took an enjoyable level and (at first) boss fight and ruined it with your cheap, gimmicky, 1 hit kills. Why even give me rings before I fight if your stupid pink lasers or corks instant kill you? Why make me wait so long just for the chance of dying so stupidly. You couldn't have just designed a genuine challenging fight? You had be to hacks with this one.
Honestly.
Genuinely annoyed at this boss 😂
you said it perfectly
@leo0six after 3 days, I finally managed to defeat the boss. Careful though, there are also glitches. I glitched through the pink lasers without dying two times, his corks went invisible a few times and he played his end move twice, which took me by surprise and had me redo the whole boss fight again 🙃
@@TheAnimatedWonders seriously, all bosses in the game are horrible
The first half of this boss is so boring. (But this may be because I’ve done it like 900 times and counting 😩)
How to escape the laser spider ?
This boss fight is harder than KH3 Yozora
I’d rather play paper Mario sticker Star, sonic boom rise of lyric, shadow the hedgehog, sonic chronicles the dark brotherhood, and dr robotnik’s mean bean machine than to do the final boss of trip’s story.
You people had to actually FIGHT the boss? I just used a glitch and skipped it! (It also felt morally ok)
Please explain…
@@TrueSolunar Using the red emeralds power, you can clip through the wall, fly OVER the boss fight, and land on an extra level clear area, which was probably meant to be removed, but wasnt
@@sanlikebeamer8146 Had to resort to that after my first post (NO REGRETS)… That final boss is PURE BS… If there was a save in between phases, it would be tolerable, but NO… After ALL that, your reward is EASY mode?!? What the literal HELL were they thinking?!?
A total rage mode
Once you got on the web, what button did you press to escape from this? You just did this at 6:27.
i tapped all the face buttons.
Why is this stage so difficult for me, but you finish it so quickly that it took three hours and I have not finished it yet because I want play the last story😢😢😂
I gave up on this game. But thanks for showing this.
The bosses in this game suck. Some of them have good ideas but it's ruined by pointless waiting, like with that stupid missile attack in Fang's fight that just serves to waste time.
Uh, looking at the comments, I can safely say that I'm probably the only one that loved this fight.
You love self-punishment and hate yourself, that's why.🤣
Nope. I did too. And I did it without the emerald powers. Never use them aside from when I had to. I don't think it took me as long as the others either.
i think y'all are in a parallel universe because this is one of (if not the most) unfair boss fight in the game
@@leo0six Which is exactly why I said I was probably the only one who loved it.
@@Sonichronik 90% of the attacks are instakill 💀
Played it once out of obligation. Never again
Would you please do a playthrough as Rabbit?
THIS IS A NIGHTMARE
I.
HATE.
THIS.
BOSS!!!!!
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
This boss felt like a worse cuphead boss fight.
Ok since when did Fang get a Gundam?
