I like that the smaller Titan entered quantum jump faster than the much larger Hammerhead and Javelin(?). I think it should be that way, smaller ships with less mass should spool up faster than larger, much more massive, ships.
They also have to punch a much smaller hole in space-time
Some people saying elite dangerous quantum travel and sound looks better than this on reddit is just dumb
This sounds bad tho lol
@@lolololo-cx4dpit doesn’t sound bad. It needs improvements but it sounds fine…
When i first saw this, the first thing that came to mind is when a Thargoid ship pulled me out of Jump in Elite Dangerous. One of the few times a game gave me goosebumps.
It reminds me of Moyà’s Starburst from Farscape
I have noticed that all ships going INTO QT are stationary in these shots. It looks amazing but if you have to be stationary when iniating a jump, with master modes making you drop shields to jump, that would be like a double nerf to anyone trying to escape combat? It'd be interesting to see how this warp tunnel looks whilst moving. In my head it would look like when the borg sphere in ST First Contact activates the time bubble, a trailing distortion comet. Itd be cool to see those distortions cause slight navigational issues for those following behind, like being caught up in the waves behind a speed boat, making the Jumper harder to hit at close range. That would even the playing field a bit...
This actually wasn’t a leak, it was posted on a cig developers personal channel
EDIT: the developer has privates the video, and I can’t find the original channel
Still technically a leak then. Especially since he is a former CIG dev
@@Platinumsniper I can see how it’s still a leak, but is the dev not working there anymore?
@@HalfSacI think it's just a contract base, once the job is done the contract is done
Now THAT is hype! I haven't gotten goosebumps since... well the citcon StarEngine demo, but even then! I HOPE we get this in 3.23!
You can hear the Movie Stargate activating as well as the Kelvin enterprise warp spinup in these versions
The creator that published that video was reposting it btw. Original credit goes to the former CIG dev who worked on its VFX. Would link him but I can't find his channel anymore.
The was on a former CIG devs YT channel for about a week. He was even answering questions in the comments.
When these showed up on reddit I believe whoever posted it said the audio was all just temporary and done by the VFX guy and should improve a lot once the official audio guys get ahold of it. I also thought it sounded pretty great for a VFX guy just wingin' it.
The capital ships in quantum look SIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!
I like the cinematic one more, where you are in a sort of warped tunnel
that is interstellar travel in between star systems
These look amazing, so I hope that CIG do something that looks this good, when they finalise the effect and gameplay. Considering QT is supposed to take the majority of ship's power, we need something that represents that. We also need to know when other people are about to enter or exit QT.
Totally agree Anach. I do like the idea of this quantum missile concept. I think sounds need more upgrade and I do like the core concept being shown and was impressed. I just need a touch more of the IT factor that gives me the core of what we're looking for. All in all though, better than what I see from most out there.
I really like the "AAAAA" at the activation
Apart from what we saw from citcon we don't know what changes (if any) has been made since this was made 8 months ago. So it may or may not look exactly 100% what we're seeing here when it gets in our hands.
Gonna need to poop after every jump with all that shaking
Hope they still have a group jump effect
It was a dev that put it up, then he immediately made it private
looks best with the jav ithink also looks just like the original freelancer video a decade ago.
I know the dev that made this, but it will not be the one we get. We will get a modified version, this is the original, that was rejected. He wanted a deeper sound as well, this was just a quickie in terms of sounds.
They must be crazy to reject this.
It's looks great but.....
Exit sound and exit speed needs a lot of work, this is one area where elite still is better than SC.
exit speed should be linked to ship size.
Elite Example: th-cam.com/video/f-OTVKg2xI0/w-d-xo.html
I like the low freq LFE at the exit, plus how slow the capital ship exits, also how there's warning for capital ship detected accompanied by an ominous eerie sound of danger.
This is an almost year old leak from a former VFX artist, who just made the sounds themselves. Nothing about this is final, especially the audio.
that is a proper upgrade hehehe
Wtf? Well yeah. Ima pick this as appose to "loading".
LOL KILLIAN!!! Miss you dude!!
@@DG360 Same here...try to be back in 24. Lot´s of IRL-crap going on for some time now.
One CIG dev once said "leaks hurt everybody". These are great, but if they decide they want to go another route or just abandon them.....
Well he was wrong. If they leak something and everybody hates it they can change it before wasting a bunch of time and money.
Let me guess, this VFX guy spent a lot of time on these effects, wanted higher pay, or didn't get enough respect, or something, so they let him go, or he quit, and decided to publish it knowing it would be discovered by the SC community and have everyone drooling over it, hoping to cause CIG to call him back, or at the very least, get another employer to take notice. Whatever it is, kudos to that person, because they did a great job.
Or...
They just decided to move on from CIG.
Why do you assume people only leave jobs out of spite?
Fake
