The SLC43 is very underrated. They’re about 3400 pounds. The 385hp model will do 0-60 in about 4.3 seconds, and a 12.5 second quarter mile, fast enough to get you locked up. The one you’re driving doesn’t have the limited slip differential or magnetic shocks. Neither does mine, which is a 2020 model, and one of the last ones made. I’m looking into a Quaife ATB LSD at some point because under hard acceleration the rear end wants to slip to the left. Otherwise, they are overshadowed in the enthusiast community by the SLK55, and many claim they aren’t true AMG cars because the “43” V6 wasn’t hand built at Affalterbach. The truth is that the 385hp models have nearly identical performance and better fuel mileage than the 55, but don’t have the V8 sound. They were only built three years, and in small numbers-abandoning the V8 hurt sales for Mercedes-AMG, and in upcoming “43”s they’re going to inline 4 cylinder hybrids with engines built in Affalterbach again.

It’s a fun car for sure, despite not having that hand built engine.
Hi Doug, great work on this video. Learned a lot about the various Mercedes classes that I never knew before plus the tips on the seats of this car.
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it Phil :)
This is the car I’m buying!!

Nine speed transmission
I gave up on this "review" after you incorrectly said the 9 speed gearbox was a 7 speed. And you heard the suspension note change 🙄
