Tip for bitting flies (stable flies). Deed does not work! I sail a peco on Raquette Lake, in shorts and a PFD. I have found if I apply a heavy layer of water proof sunblock, not rubbing it in completely the flies don't make a meal out of my legs. In the evenings I wear socks that are treated with permiathan.

Yes there are quite a few kayaks. The weight of your boat is an important consideration though.
