South Africans lived freely in Nigeria without molestation. We embraced them as brothers and sisters. I can't believe what is happening in South Africa today. This is an outrage.

African unity, meaning that individual countries are subsumed into a pan African super-state, doesn't seem realistic, or necessarily desirable. African countries realising that they can achieve more collectively, by cooperating for their mutual benefit, in defiance of external parties who profit from their division, is a different matter. I sometimes wonder how African people I meet, in the UK, regard each other. Is it realistic to expect a person in Namibia to feel a sense of kinship with a person in Ethiopia or Tunisia? Perhaps not. Can governments trade and cooperate in a way which facilities development of the continent, for it's people? I hope so.
“WHEN EDUCATION IS NOT LIBERATING, THE DREAM OF THE OPPRESSED IS TO BE THE OPPRESSOR” - Paulo Freire, Brazilian philosopher It seems that humanity never learns that placing blame and hatred on others is a foretold disaster, and once again, history will repeat itself. Pan-Africanism is an example of the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy. It is cognitive bias where differences are ignored but similraties are overemphasised; just because someone has melanin in their skin it doesn’t mean that they are your ally & wish you well. Focus on content of character rather than colour of skin and foreigners do not have good characters; and, South Africans see this and do not stand for it. Not all skin folk are kinfolk. There's no violent targeting of migrants here; it's the migrant violently targeting South Africans. And, if South Africa is so bad, then GO HOME and leave us alone!

Depends on what the education is, doesn't it? NAZI and Soviet schools had "free" education.....or indoctrination, which seems to be infecting modern education...indoctrination, not education. Indoctrination just breds fanatics and radicals.
So you're saying lack of education is the problem? If the South African people were all educated, millions of illegal migrants pouring into South Africa selling drugs and not paying rent or taxes wouldn't be a problem then? That's rather strange logic. How about this: Don't let migrants into your country who aren't educated and skilled and don't let people in who are criminals and/or deport those who engage in criminality. Problem solved. Look at countries like Denmark, Finland, Norway, Bulgaria, Hungary. They don't have problems with millions of illegal migrants pouring in from the human trafficking gangs, because they take a no-nonsense hard line stance on immigration with fixed quotas on the amount of genuine refugee asylum seekers they can take in each year which doesn't harm their economy or the standard of living for their own citizens. Until you can help your own people and have a functional prosperous country, you cannot be charitable to half the third world. Charity begins at home.
Imagine a mother blaming foreigners for how her child turned out. If you worked hard in life to provide a good and safe life for your son, i'm sure he wouldn't have ended up that way. If African foreigners raised their children properly they would not go poison children with drugs and they would not have turned out to be drug dealers and criminals. It is not our responsibility if your children are criminals because of their bad upbringing. They derogatorily refer to fellow Africans as 'cockroaches,' a chilling echo of the Rwandan genocide. What's even more disheartening is the involvement of government officials and politicians who financially support these unemployed individuals (dudula) for their political gains. With less than a year remaining until the elections, it's alarming to note that South Africa's current Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, has a well-documented history of hostility towards African migrants. During his tenure as Health Minister, he issued orders for public hospitals to deny medical care to sick migrants, resulting in a horrifying incident where a woman from the DRC had to give birth on the streets. Such ministers who promote hatred are gaining considerable attention, exemplified by a representative of the health from the province of Limpopo humiliating a sick patient in a hospital bed, further exacerbating the troubling situation.

Agents. It can't imagine what this whole energy can become if they don't watch out! A genocide or a Mass Civil revolt that is in the very near future if they continue as this rate! And to think that this is a place with the history it has with Apartheid is just sad! 1 out 3 unemployed adult is alarming and really the route of all problems. Rwanda had a massive recession and high unemployment in the early 1990s to 1994, with so many people unemployed including youth it was easy to harness that much energy through hatred especially when you give them a purpose and a bit of money and then blame their struggles on somebody else and say " those people doing well are doing so because of XYZ.....that should have been You! Last take on this: In all of these, where is the South African government? Where is your SA immigration agency? Where is your police? Where is your drug enforcement agency? And where is accountability and taking responsibility for your own failings? Why is South Africa so attractive to criminal elements from all over the world? Could that be because many South Africans are criminals themselves and provide an enabling environment for crime? Could the failings of your government agencies be a sign of a deep-rooted societal flaw? I’m all for foreigners leaving SA, but do you think Operation Dudula victimizing all migrants is the way to go? Are foreigners responsible for the over 30% unemployment rate? Are they responsible for your world-record crime stats especially for a country not currently in a war situation? Are foreigners responsible for the rate of femicide in SA? Are they responsible for your high GBV? Are they responsible for the load shedding? Are foreigners the reason the ANC is underperforming? Are they responsible for the white-only Orania? Are foreigners responsible for stealing a car every 40 seconds? Are they the reason why a significant share of your country’s wealth is in the hands of the white minority? Are foreigners the reason for the wanton recklessness and corruption in South Africa? Are they the reason your military is underfunded and crumbling? Are foreigners the reason for the high rape cases in South Africa? Are foreigners responsible for the rot in your prison system? Are foreigners responsible for your gun violence? If they are, would you give them credit for the positives in South Africa too or foreigners are only cockroaches and vermin and nothing good can come from them? You South Africans need to ask yourselves very serious questions. Every country has challenges, but the way to deal with them is not to simply blame and victimize migrants. If a migrant/foreigner commits a crime, bring them to book in line with the law. I bet Operation Dudula can mobilize and work with the police to bring confirmed drug peddlers and criminals to book? Why not focus on that? Why not protest against and picket every government agency that is refusing to do its job? May God help Africans. And to you the foreigners in South Africa, please go home. Leave SA. I know many of you are there out of desperation, but do all you can to leave. Protect your dignity. You are not in any way inferior to South Africans much less the Black ones who took control of a country in 1994 and have done a fantastic job of running it down and blaming it on foreigners. As a South African observer, it's crucial to address the prevalent global issue of xenophobia. This challenge transcends borders, impacting lives in various ways. However, the portrayal of the challenges faced by black South Africans in media narratives often remains misrepresented or downplayed. The complexity of this situation deepens with illegal immigration, leading to forced assimilation, disrupting local businesses, and straining the social security system. The historical marginalisation of black South Africans intensifies due to the ongoing influx post-1994. It is essential to uphold the rule of law and curb the tolerance of illegal immigration by State institutions. Strengthening these institutions becomes paramount to prevent mob justice and ensure public safety for all individuals. Proposing structured refugee camps for refugees, asylum seekers, and illegal immigrants awaiting deportation, instead of immediate community assimilation, could mitigate potential violence and secure the lives of all, irrespective of nationality. It is also disingenuous to shame South Africans for wanting to live in their sovereign nation where their rules-based order is respected by all, whether from South Africa or outside South Africa. Equally disingenuous is to shame them for not supporting illegal immigration by using terms like 'xenophobic' or 'unafrican' arbitrarily so, or by virtue signalling that Africa should unify as one big nation. While we can unite under one continent in our vast diversities and identities, forcing a singular unified entity risks destruction without acknowledging the value of our sovereign nations.
As a Congolese girl born and raised in SA, I not only suffered racial inequality but xenophobic injustices too. I was picked on in school, and never enjoyed my childhood, we lived in fear that one day something bad would happen to me either because of my skin colour or nationality. No not the white people 😒 that unfit mother said it was the "foreigners " 😂😂😂😂😂😂 they sound do dumb. I'm sorry for what you had to endure there but hurt people, hurt people.
Another story of how BAD SA is. Does anyone out of the millions of foreign nations here have anything positive to share? I hope you were able to escape the "HELL" that is our country.
These drugs were not here before these things arrived I blame Mandela. No south african lives and sell drugs in Nigeria even in Zimbabwe. The whole world knows Nigeria is a home of drug dealers I don't care who says what.
I am a South African, watching this documentary brings me pain and shame. I have traveled in other parts of Southern Africa, and my experience has been amazing. People were so welcoming, and they treated me as one of their own. So sad that we can't do the same for our African brothers and sisters. There is so much hatred in South Africa, i pray for spirit of Ubuntu. The sooner we realise that we all one, the better.
While they destruct, destroy, & kill SA citizens in our own country??? Our visitors should behave & show ubuntu then that will be reciprocated. Why so many are in boats to Europe?? Because there’s no Ubuntu in their own countries. We need mutual respect we allowed them to come in , now we have no go areas in our own country imposed by Nigerians, Somalis, Mozambican, DRC & many more that’s not normal. You went to visit not to stay. We have people staying here & doing wrong things. It’s becoming normal in SA to have people vanishing & never found, some get killed , with all forensics still can’t find killers because there no data on illegal migrants . We need normality, till he have that there won’t be Ubuntu.
Some of these groups don't see you as one. In fact, when they open their shops in your country the plan is to slowly take over through group economics, and I know for a fact they would never let you do that in their country. It's best that everyone stay in their own countries and we can visit each other as tourists instead of colonizing each other.
As a south African I am so disgusted and embarrassed. I have worked in many African countries, and currently residing in Nigeria... I have always been treated with respect in all these countries, and this is how they are being treated in my home country
I agree. All people should be treated with love and respect. But if the Nigerian government let in millions of poor people from South Africa you will also unfortunately find a lot resentful people. Most economic migrants are not average people. They are normally much more driven and hard-working, that's how they got here in the first place. For those seeking jobs that often creates the perception that foreigners have an unfair advantage and also for employers the perception that foreigners are harder workers. I don't think it's because South Africans are naturally xenophobic.
I say this with no prejudice: a lot of southAfricans are lazy. Vusi Thembakwayo himself said it. A lot of this boils down to the circumstances post apartheid.

You are lost as Africans because you oppress each other on religious ethnic and tribal preferences in your own countries but expect SA to host and love you all mxm sis
Here we are. Those want a better life in europe? Not welcome. I am very sorry for those, who suffer because of this. Surely y recognize, that spending and donations will drop. Stupid. Bullets and bombs are not eatable.
South Africa was the shining beacon for the whole continent not that long ago with a stable currency a thriving economy, plenty of industry and agriculture and tourism hospitals universities railroads well paved streets plenty of electricity, air conditioning, running water no trash in the streets no graffiti on the buildings and then suddenly everything began to crumble. I wonder what happened.
I am Kenyan. Coming from a country that makes so much money from foreigners and tourism, I am appalled when I see such videos. Really, I have always wanted to visit S.A because of its history, music and culture but watching the xenophobia related videos, I get scared! 😢
Why are so many Kenyans in the comment section stating "I'm Kenyan" and then proceed to mention why Kenya is the greatest country in Africa? Always clicking on sensationalist bad clips on South Africa to convince yourselves why SA is below standard.
Isn't Kenya the homophobic hub of Africa. Do you even allow gay tourists in Kenya? Your country is intolerant to certain people because of their sexual orientation, right.
Can i come sell drugs to your kids in Kenya? Can i bring all my cousins to sleep on the street in Kenya? Can I come scam and open broth3ls in Kenya? Hijack cars and buildings? Invite more of my empoverished cousins?
She needs serious psychological counseling. She has created a personalized perception of the situation and to her, those negative and painful experiences have become a reality. She may never change that kind of schema easily. I just told someone watching the video this lady is in real pain which shouldint be ignored but addressed. She needs a little pull back into reality of realizing that the son had the choice to buy the drug after which he had another choice to use it and his role in the mess was actually more significant regarding the aftermath repercussions.
@@akhonazasembo3016 the real issue is why you feel it’s a good idea to post a nonsensical & sarcastic reply on a serious topic. If you don’t know the Väst majority of xenophobia there is aimed at fellow Africans. Are they the real problem or source of the turmoil? Are people from Ghana, Senegal or Libya the reason for unemployment in SA?
This is a walk in The park. The level of violence isn't even remotely the same. Only a zio shill could post or upvote it. Disgusting people. The worst in the world are in so called Israel. This video documentary shows vile behavior, no doubt about that. But nowhere near what the new nazis are doing.
As a Zambian who was born in the 1970s and grew up in the 1980s, I didn't think I would see a day when South Africans would treat fellow Africans like this, considering they (the South Africans) were received and treated with dignity in many African countries during apartheid period. It wasn't like those countries had significant resources to care of them. They shared the little we had with them. So, for someone like me who not only had classmates from South Africa but even a teacher from that country at primary school, I find what's happening in SA very upsetting.
Google " 16 girls rescued girls from human traffickers ":Also google "hawks rescue girls, women from a Joburg brothel " ; Also " I survived human trafficking in Johannesburg " ;Also google "open borders , afriforum ". We also didn't think that welcoming fellow Africans into our country would lead to such horror
Migrants in Zambia don't make up 10% of migrants in SA, once you take responsibility of looking after many people from failed countries who dont want to fix their countries, you can then come here and talk, for now, focus on your Zambia, we don't bother you people in your countries
We've heard that many times, look we don't have the capacity to carry the whole of Africa while we are also struggling ourselves, we are still recovering from the effects of apartheid, just give us a space to grow and develop ourselves. In comparison to the invasion of immigrants, legal or illegal, currently in SA, it was very few SAns who lived in exile, so it is rather silly to make a comparison.
@@dinaledi4085 My sister I recognised your handle from the Ashley in Afrika video covering the same topic, your patriotism and love for our country is unmatched and does not go unrecognised even if its just by me, I see you relentlessly putting forward our perspective in these comments. Thank you
@@Masingita9379 Thank you for also speaking up . Its really sad because real lives are being lost yet people are being gaslit and silenced. That kind of scenario can only lead to more anger. Its almost as if some people are identifying a problem but deliberately listening to one side as a way stoking the fires. Violence can never be condoned but then again if you keep silencing people and enabling gross human rights abuse the victims will inevitably feel like they have their backs against the wall. At that point they will feel they have nothing to lose and that's how communities are radicalized. South Africans are good people and we don't want to see a situation where there's rampant vigilantism and a whole lot of radical groupings.
I also recommend you Google the affects of the influx of illegal immigrants in SA townships. Don't stop there, Google Hijacked buildings in SA; effects of influx of illegal immigrants on SA public healthcare; Google a show called Sizokthola; someone recommended you Google girls rescued from human trafficking, take it a step further and Google the people that have been arrested for human trafficking in SA. If we are going by your sentiments, then may God have mercy on them all. May they never reap what they have sowed, except that God wills it. This goes for their governments too
I feel sad for these conditions. I have been learning about the various African countries in the last year and a half. I am in the USA and always dreamed if returning to Africa as my 'home.' But I can see, that's a delusion. USA is racist, but tribalism is like racism on steroids. I pray for a peaceful resolution but it's reminiscent of what happened in Rwabda when one side turned against the other. Oh my SA people, be careful of the fire you are fueling...
Look South African , I am 63 years from Ghana, now an American leaving in USA. My father was a principal of a secondary school in Ghana, in 1967 , my father and his school kept 15 south Africans who were supported by my dad's income. You don't even know how Africans may have helped you to get where you are! Some of the South African were being cared for by Nigerians and other countries! I remember half of those guys were always drunk.
My South African brother and his comrades were kept in the bushes of Tanzania. They were nevee given working papers. At the end of apartheid all the countries that "hosted" South Africans, send them back to SA. They were never given permanemt residency or citizenship
@@alicegauteng2358give them permanent residency for what? They were South Africans and they were being protected from the apartheid. Apartheid is over best thing to do was send them back to their beloved as things had improved

It shows that there exist The Educated Black South Africans (1% of the black population) and the dumb kak, egoistic braindead rest (99% of the black population)
It's envy mainly, they don't understand how a poor person is able to set up a business. I was curious, how do these vigilantes get paid, they drive around all day harassing traders. I can't help but think there's something odd here. Do they not have jobs?
This is so sad. The group is misguided. People make a conscious decision to either take drugs or avoid drugs. Drugs are also everywhere in the world. You cant just blame punish foreigners for personal decisions.
Go and sell drugs in your own country. All these migrants are here to sell drugs and counterfeit goods. None with skills. Other skills they have is to hijack buildings, steal cables and mine illegally. They must go back and do that in their own countries of origin.
Instead of fighting white superiority. They fight their own people. Granted, there are drug dealers who are poisonous and ought to be removed. This hate is miguided

I lived in south africa for about 5 years doing studies, even while i was studying, there was already discrimination during classes. Then gradually I started to work and improve my lifestyle. It got to a point where I felt unsafe because I was a foreigner claiming that I don't deserve anything because of this I have moved back to my home country.
A relative from Kenya told me how he would get deliberately marked down on tests, and fellow students he tutored and helped (white) were marked up undeservingly.
@@Mercitoyes it's true when I lived in Leicester, the locals blamed the Asians, Indians and blacks for the drugs and crime in the area. There are no gangs of vigilantes attacking foreigners in any western country. The ANC the black political leaders spread race hate, even towards other South Africans. They tell the poor their problems are caused by somebody else, meanwhile they are stealing from the poor. By the way. there are tribal and ethnic conflicts across Africa. Its very common.
One day the world will begin to understand just how violent these people are. Today I’m proudly British and will fight for my country but it saddens me to watch this happen in a country I once fought to protect.

South Africa has also historically, had a very serious Alcohol Addiction problem in the Townships. It is interesting that Dudula hasn't identified alcohol as a harmful substance in their communities.
Drugs have surpassed the alchoholism to be honest. I grew up in the township and I am talking about seeing it first hand where a neighbour's child will steal from a house where he used to go and play.
😂😂😂 that mother made me laugh so hard. The way she said she hates foreigners as if they are the ones who forced her son to do drugs. She also confessed that her son was trying to steal some cable and got shocked while they always claim that its foreigners who steal cables. They should look in the mirror. I'm not even excusing the foreigners i understand its a problem but they should also look at themselves
Instead of laughing try to understand why someone who doesn't do drugs would feel like that. Shes not stupid. South Africans wouldn't sell even a cigarette to minors. Besides these guys have fake pain tablets. Everything of theirs is cheap.
I cannot believe that a grown woman would blame a foreigner for her son being electrocuted for stealing and being a drug addict. This kind of thinking…What if the same happens to South Africans abroad?
U know wht happens to families with single parents, the kid started smokn shit at 14yrs,she failed her son and puts the blame on other people its astonishing, but as far as am concerned i hv never seen people who always puts blame on others like s.africans, they always hv something on their sleeves.

Its ironic. Most every other African country was able to fight off and get rid of(to an extent) colonizers without external help. The exceptions being Angola/Mozambique and SA. Well like the loser said in the article, "Life was better under apartheid". Go figure
@@kemmoneR True... I personally was too young but my father a Ugandan political and human rights activist was part of the international struggle to end apartheid in SA. How are they going to build Africa if they all want to come to South Africa? Why do these immigrants go past all these peaceful countries and choose a xenophobic country to settle in? Who does that?
Xenophobia is disgusting. An ignored illegal migrant pandemic is as disgusting too. Two things can be wrong at the same time. This is what happens, when people are ignored for years and take the law into their own hands due to a failed state. It is never pretty anywhere.

It's sad to see the pain these people are going through because I know it from Kenya, but it is disappointing to see such people power misdirected from the real culprits to the most vulnerable. South Africans should be fighting the colonialism of their resources not the fellow poor Africans. They should be fighting the multi international companies and the governments benefiting from their pain, not their poor neighbors, brothers and sisters. In Kenya, we have been fighting for our land that was grabbed since colonial period. Somehow the politicians convinced us that our enemies are our neighboring brothers and sisters. And Kenyans took up machetes and killed each other. Years later, the land is still in the hands of the few elites that are colonial gate keepers. And the British still reap so much from the land they stole from us. South Africans, stop fighting the wrong people, go after the real source of your misery.

@@aarontitan8393 I read you and thanks for painting a closer picture in your comment. In Kenya, we didn't solve any problem by electing Ruto "the hustler" "one of us". In any case we have more problems as a result. It's essential to approach the topic of illegal immigration, crime, and their impact on South Africa with a nuanced and empathetic perspective. Stereotyping and making uninformed conclusions can hinder progress in addressing these challenges. Engaging in open and respectful dialogue, considering the broader socioeconomic context, and advocating for effective policies are steps toward finding solutions to these complex issues. Lack of FIRST-HAND experience: Many people form their opinions based on their own experiences and what they hear in the media. If they have not lived in or spent significant time in areas affected by these issues, they may not fully understand the situation on the ground. Media portrayal: The media plays a significant role in shaping public perception. Depending on how the issue is covered, it can either highlight the challenges faced by South African citizens or focus on the difficulties faced by immigrants. Biased or one-sided reporting can contribute to misunderstandings. Lack of information: People may not have access to accurate and comprehensive information about immigration, its causes, and its consequences. This can result in misconceptions and oversimplified views. Economic and social factors: People's views on immigration are often influenced by their economic and social situations and where they live. Those who feel economically disadvantaged may be more inclined to view immigrants as competition for resources and jobs, while others may have a more empathetic perspective.

Why Africa thinks that South African has unlimited resources to provide for jobless Africans. We do not have unlimited job opportunities. 95% of these migrants do not have skills, they live on crime.
Lastly, to the criminal foreigners in South Africa, you’re part of the problem and you deserve to rot in jail.

Luckily I am leaving in Switzerland and not in South Africa...But most of my family is still leaving there and this makes me so mad seeing people clearly unaware of what's really going on and blaming Migrants for the misery that our Country is in...
My parents used to tell me stories and songs about "remember South Africa", what was done to it's people by colonialism and apartheid. They told me as a Somali to never forget the struggle, my parents generation were brought up on Pan Africanism.
What to them is shocking and shame is, those who they shared their pain and struggle are today being xenophobic and bigots, hating on unfortunate africans being productive member of society.
My country is rebuilding and many Somalis fled since civil war to seek livelihood in neighbouring brotherly countries, fellow africans but end up being killed, hated and looked down upon. The sad reality is, had these Somalis moved to western white majority countries they would never be treated the way South Africans treat them.
To see fellow Africans speaking like white supremacists crying "i hate foreigners" you might as well move to Russia than South Africa. What a sad people, your issues are complex. Dont go for easy fix and accuse foreigners but hold your ineffective government and corrupt people accountable.
Thank you! I used sing for SA. As Somalis we fought for them by training them, providing weapons, giving financial and goods support, singing for them, encouraging them. All went to hating us and burning Somalis alive. WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND”
We’re rebuilding again and soon!
I'm not South African, but the point you said about government, is also applicable to Somalia. It's time you became stable and build your country. Lots of other Africans on tiktok have pointed out how much smoke South Africans have for their fellow Africans in comparison to how they are with the decendants of colonisers still living amongst them. It's difficult to fathom that a nation that once garnered sympathy from Africa and the global black community is now displaying such deplorable behavior toward fellow Africans by labeling them as foreigners. This situation is incredibly absurd. It makes me question whether there's any hope left for the collective well-being of black people worldwide. Isn’t it the time for Africans to unite, harness their collective strength, and actively strive for their own liberation, as well as that of the African diaspora by erasing the artificial borders separating them? As a foreigner living in South Africa. The problem is the government. If it was dealing with crimes committed by foreigners as it should have... this wouldn't have happened.
When the government isn't listening to the people, people becomes desperate. As a foreigner myself living in South Africa. I blame the government. How dudula is going about it it's wrong. Your statement fell on flat ears, people have the perception that SAns are xenophobic, it'll take more to change that
At least you know how South Africans respond to problems, either is one of their own or the government. No one woke up to be xenophobic
Nobody talks about the many Europeans who bring in large containers of drugs at the sea port…😗or the human trafficking that is being conducted on a daily basis.

I think the poignant irony in this situation is the fact that these people, where themselves, recently liberated from racist economic repression.

On the other hand, in Kenya we have a Swahili saying that says "mgeni njoo mwenyeji apone" (the visitor is welcome so that the local can relax/luxuriate). We have areas in Nairobi called small Mogadishu because Somalis have made it their home, and now Nigerians are more than welcome to make parts of Thikaroad a small Lagos. Isn't it strikingly intriguing that the same foreigners that are causing havoc in South Africa are contributing to the economy in Kenya? Think about it, the difference is not the people, the enemy is not the people but the system. That's why I wish this people power and anger in South Africa is directed to fixing the apartheid systems and ghosts that still disadvantage South Africans in their own land. What did the Germans gain by killing the Jews in the Holacost? What problem did the Ugandans solve by evicting all Indians? What did the Hutus gain by killing all the Tutsis? The problem is never the people, it is always the system of oppression that favors some over others. Also some evil power hungry individuals fuel and use the anger of the masses to get into power. We will see you back in the streets in future once you put the operation Dudula in power. Learn from your past and from the rest of us. In Kenya, we didn't solve any problem by electing Ruto "the hustler" "one of us". In any case we have more problems as a result. The solution to human problems are in fixing the erroneous systems we set up not in fighting each other.
