I still don't understand why they decided to have 'enviroment'; it will almost always mean that rent increases when you add things to your space/renovate, which is CRAZY! Why would they make it so landlords can essentially charge your sims for stuff they brought for themselves?! Surley they could have simply set it to unfurnished/furnished/partly furnished.
I suppose the same reason buying a violin increases your property taxes. Sims has this weird inability to differentiate between property specific items like windows, wallpaper, and appliances, and just random belongings. 😂
I wonder if the milestones disappearing bug has been fixed from Growing Together? I can see that being a real pain playing this pack if you're switching households all the time.
Things I wonder, If your sim already owns a home and you want to convert your currently occupied home into a residential rental can it be done without moving the family out? For example, I say live in Henford on Bagley and I want to rent out a little cabin on my property. Maybe make my young adult kid pay a small rent. Can I build a small rental (or even convert a portion of my house) and change the lot type to residential rental without moving out? And simply designate the rented space vs my own vs shared and move forward as a "owner" of a residential rental from there. Also, if I want to go back (without moving out) and just have it be a normal residential again, can I make the switch back without issue by simply changing the lot type.
What does buying a rental property you do not live in look like? Like if you build a set of townhouses say in build mode on an unowned lot. Make the lot type residential rental. Do not move any sim in, can a sim buy the lot and manage the building as a non-occupying owner the same way they would say a vet clinic or restaurant (knowing they need enough money to buy said building)? What does that look like? Also if you don't have any sims buy it as owner can you simply have renters (from manage households) move into the town houses you built and would an NPC landlord be assigned to the building in this case?
I never thought buying an existing building would be free as a lot of this seems modeled under the normal "owning a business" in Sims 4 just with that business being homes for other sims, lol. So not surprised free real estate didn't work in that case.

Nice video. I have a few questions about cross pack compatibility:
- can spellcasters clean up mold with scruberoo
- is there a new occult rule similar to the no ghost and no pet rule. I hope we can choose per occult, for example allow werewolves and dissallow vampires.
- does the roof water heater do anything for eco lifestyle/off the grid gameplay
- can snooping be used instead of the listening device in strangerville

I am curious to know if when you set up for example the Landgraabs as owning several buildings (rentals or not) through the business menu, whether they then actually come to your house as property owner if you choose to rent one of those places

Did you try playing with the multi-units as just several families living together with no rent? Do you know if living with just families would keep you as busy as being a property manager? i actually didn’t test this part out my bad! i feel like it would but maybe they’ve programmed it to not be so frequent in your own home
I wonder if there will be any cross-compatibility between snooping/secrets and the StrangerVille listening device. It seems like an obvious connection (with maybe some exceptions if the Sim you’ve bugged is part of the StrangerVille plot), but we’ve been disappointed before by cross-compatibility or lack thereof.
Thank you for this! I'm very curious about cross compatibility with Horse Ranch. Can we have horses on a multi unit lot and can any resident ride them, care for them? I think the horses would have to be members of the on site landlord's (ranch owner's) household. I'm imagining the horse area would all be a common area.I want to make a dude ranch where sims can stay for an extended time and sample ranch living.
This!! I'm also wondering if the stray cats/dogs lot trait/challenge can be used on multi unit lots.
If you use your handiness skill to upgrade the appliances to be unbreakable will residents still be able to break them?
I have a quick question for anyone who knows- I mostly wanted this game to do tenant gameplay and create lots of world-building with characters. I've downloaded some cool rental lots off the gallery, placed them in the open spots in Tamarang, and got a sim to move into one. However, after playing for quite a few in-game days, I still continue to be the only tenant in any of the three lots I placed down. My question is this; will tenants ever happen unless I try to find and play as the property owner to fill those vacancies? In City Living, people would just kinda move into empty apartments, same as any other world with empty homes so I figured it would only be a matter of time. Am I just being too impatient, or will there literally never be anyone moving in? Has anyone else had this problem?
thank you for giving alex moyers life hell. i give her hell everytime i encounter her. the worst is shes immortal so i have her in gen 10, the mother of so many generations bc of mcc. rn in my nsb challenge she was my gen 1 sims enemy and in orange gen we made sure to bother her too. i plan to finally off her in season 10. its what pepe mintz (my legacy founder) would have wanted

Can someone help me? I have 8 units on 1 lot but it only allows me to have Vacancy for unit 1. I go to the Owned Business menu but only 1 unit is listed for “Fill Vacancy” but not the other 7. I have each unit set up but nothing. I need help please and thank you

So I'm having a problem. I made a Sim and and moved her into one of the premade houses in San Sequoia then I went to manage worlds and actually built a trailer park home with a shared laundromat all on the same lot and then went back into my Sim's household and clicked the, "Buy a Rental Property" which was the trailer park. So it said that I bought the trailer park and that I was a property owner of the lot BUT I couldn't go inside any of the trailer park homes I made to clean and maintenance even though no one was living there yet so I thought I probably needed to, "fill the vacancy" with tenants so I could visit them inside their house and then do maintenance and clean but even when I did fill the houses with tenants they couldn't even go inside the houses they were already renting from me and they couldn't even go inside the shared laundromat either. A couple of them did go inside the house so it said I could visit them but nobody could go inside the shared laundromat. All of the other tenants couldn't go in their house for some reason while I was "visiting" them (like we would talk outside of the house and when I tried to click inside the house to get inside of THEIR house, it would have an "X" meaning they can't go in their home they're renting from me and I couldn't go inside their house either. I have no idea if it's a bug or if I'm just not understanding something but I thought I was doing everything right. Can someone please help me understand this if it's just a bug or if I'm missing something??? Thank you!
Okay, so when I decide on the terms and length and price, my game does not give me the next screen where I can fill the vacancy. I am so confused. What am I doing wrong?
how you clicked out of the box where u type both those things? and you’re deffo on full vacancy option not just view agreement? you can’t move on until you’ve clicked out of where u type both those things so they’re confirmed
It's okay if you don't have an answer for this right away or don't know. Do we know what is going to be in the pre-release base game update? Usually they do something special before an expansion, so I was curious if there was anything like that for this pack. Or if someone else knows, feel free to answer as well.
The "No shoes inside" rule from Snowy Escape is coming to basegame so I assume that will be part of the pre-release patch. That was mentioned in the livestream. I only watched part of it, so I don't know if anything else was mentioned.
yeah the no shoes sign! and then YOU CAN ASSIGN SINKS!!! either as a kitchen or bathroom sink and IT WORKED. you can also microwave hot water as a drink now too

I have a question about what you said at the very beginning. What do you mean by add & gifted it because you got it for free so you have to do that in the UK?
it’s marked as AD in the thumbnail and also with youtube’s disclosure bc in the uk for advertising guidelines anything we receive is classed as an ad. but we aren’t paid monetarily which is historically what ad meant but that changed earlier this year ☺️ basically all works the same way it used to, i just have to disclaim it as an ad

you physically have to move in other families that u want in the other units or else they’ll never fill

@@ishwaribhalerao723 oh sorry! you move into the unit and then you go down to the business tab in the bottom right of the ui, 'buy residential rental' and then choose the full lot again in map mode and then you'll own it and live in it

I've watched a few simmers play the early access and idk if I'm missing but I haven't seen anyone mention elevators being a thing?
