I've always been intimidated to try this type of hollow ring. You've taken the mystery out of the complex construction---thank you! It's a stunningly beautiful ring.
Thanks for adding some math into this to help us understand how to fit the inner sleeve. Still seems like a fools endeavor to make a hollow ring to any specific ring size without a lot of experience. To do that you would need to construct the sleeve first to a specific ring size then fit the shell over it? At least thats what Im going to try. My first attempt was a disaster as I couldn't even get the cabochon opening right.
Hi awesome video! You definitely earned a subscriber thank you. I wanted to know what the math for the bone ring shank at the beginning, how do I get it so I know the size of the ring in the big curves? And how do I get the diameter of the bezel on the top of the bone shank?
Nice vid! There is no need for the inner tube to be so thick, the structure of the ring is very solid already

Great video! What gauge silver are you using?
I believe 20ga is recommended for this ring in the book Professional Goldsmithing by Alan Revere
Good method!
Thanks!
