I thought this was a decent conversion. Once I found a bike that handled to my liking I found it immensely playable. Shame there wasn't a few more tracks to play on.
True. The arcade experience in the mid to late 90s was fantastic, so many special ways to control a game. Manx TT, Cyber Cycles, Sega Rally, Alpine Racer, Wave Runner, Daytona, Scud Race, Time Crisis, The Lost World... All of them had immersive cabinets and vehicle replicas. It is imposible to replicate that at home, arcade centers should be alive :(
I remember playing Daytona USA Championship Edition on my Sega Saturn back in 1997 and that game felt smoother than this game does. Also the screen draw-in was about the same as this game's. The Saturn just couldn't push enough polygons to hit 60 fp/s and have good draw distance. Really sad how that console was hamstrung by rushed R&D. That totally botched US launch sure didn't help matters. God I wished Sega had the sense to release more top notch 2D games for this machine. 3D just wasn't its strong suit. For every 1 really good 3D game the Saturn did get, it got 3 sub-par games and one or two really bad ones. Its best games I personally played were its Capcom Street Fighter arcade game ports SF Alpha 2 and Marvel Superheroes. Then there was Megaman 8, Megaman X4, Sonic Jam, Radiant Silvergun, Darius Gaiden and Astal. The only 3D games I had for the system that truly were great in my opinion were Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, Gun Griffin, Burning Rangers, Virtual On, Nights, Amok and Diehard Arcade. Wish I still had all my old Saturn games. Sigh.😮💨
Mr. Grongy нет не было у меня была ps1, а про Сатурн я узнал когда появился интернет и в 2017 году я купил чипованый американский Сега Сатурн. Вот тебе ответ на все вопросы.
Great video but can you please sort the audio out? the past few Saturn videos have the audio gradually drifting out of sync until it's completely off :( **EDIT: Also, the framerate on original hardware is pretty consistently high, but it's all over the place in this!
compared to the other racing games Sega put (Daytona USA and Sega Rally) I was so disappointed when I bought this ... still more playable than Sega Touring Car Racing though
It looks like it runs terrific and sounds great but... only two tracks? I know Isle of Man is just one GP/TT and this an arcade conversion, but still... I got Moto Racer 2 on PS1 - the most comparable experience - and I think I got the better deal because it had 50+ built-in tracks and a track editor so you could make your own. Shame this one didn't have that.
Yes, it's a shame it only has two tracks. Back in 1997, I really wanted to buy the game as I loved it in arcades and played the Saturn version at a store, but I couldn't justify the cost with just 2 tracks. Sega Rally had 4 tracks and Daytona CCE had 5, so this was the minimum I wanted :)
Taking me right back to my Saturn days. What an absolute banger of a game.

It's pretty impressive that the developers managed to wring this out of the Saturn.
I still have this game from the day it came out
Welcome to the exciting world of TT Racing!
the machine for the arcade version was huge, with big plastic motorbikes to sit on

Go Mr Bones!! This is my favourite game. And this is game with best music!! Play pleace!! :))
У тебя в 90-х был Сатурн? Просто, насколько я знаю, это была дико редкая консоль в РФ, даже 3DO встречался чаще.

I love this game ! 😍 SEGA Saturn 😍 good vidéo ! Like !
I've played this on the Saturn and in the arcades. I've managed to win on the Laxey Coast course in the arcades
thank you..please more SATURN videos
this graphics are better than arcade lol
No way the model 2 is crystal clear!
Very Good 😁👌🏻
Nice, this port was well done.
So nostalgic
What is up with that framerate? It's way smoother on real hardware
good game...did you notice that CPU riders have a Ducati and a Yellow and blue RC45? Is there a way to play with those bikes?
Loved this on my Windows 95
Sound and video not in sync
I don’t have this one on my Saturn
I love sega saturn
I know in the arcade you could ride a sheep.

This was a difficult game. I've managed to beat with the black sega bike.
Passing the chekpoint!!! Sounds like a Japanese guy doing a French accent.
Anyway great game and great longplay, but Hang On was better.
You know Hang On is a screamer
