I know I'm late to the party (thanks TH-cam). I've owned and shot multiple 10mms since 1990. My all time favorite is the S&W 1076. My 10mm is a backup for bear defense and so I went with a Glock g40. Interestingly enough the trigger smoothed out quite a bit after about 150 dry fire practice and about 50 rounds through it. Shoots like it should but I did replace the sights with TFX pro tritium fiber night sights

i bought the S&W M&P about a week befdore this video came out and your reasons to why its number 1 are exactly why I bought it over the other options, not to mention the price point is very nice too
I've owned 2 of them since they got released in November '21. Neither the 4" or 4.6" I have or anyone I know that has them has had any issues with the feeding. The ones with the feed issues have been resolved with a heavier recoil spring.
Really enjoyed the video! I just got the MP 2.0 Performance Center & it is an amazing gun! I looked at and shot a bunch of 10mm. My list would be 1. M&P 2.0 Performance 2. Tanfoglio Stock III Polymer 3. Sig P320X 4. Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 5. FN 510
Only gun on this list I have shot is the Glock 20. It shoots fine, but I'm going to have to agree with Kaya on the ergonomics. The 9mm Glock frames are fine, but the 10mm/45 frames just feel extra blocky. I have handled the M&P and like the grip much more.
I've recently tried 9mm by almost all of the major manufacturers just to compare the triggers and how they feel in the hands. (I've shot almost exclusively .40 S&W G23, and some .38/.357 with a Taurus revolver.) The M&P trigger and grip feel really impressed me.
Mine as well, i like them way better than the glocks, just way more gun for the money, plus i have small hands, and its comfortable. I had a glock 20 and hated it
I own 4 out of the 5 & multiple of a couple of them. I have the Glock 40, Glock 29, Springfield 3.8 compact, S & W Performance Edition M & P 10mm, & Sig Sauer Black Ops 1911 10mm. But I just bought the Rock Island FSHC 10mm, I think it's my favorite. It's a tack driver. First time shooting it 150 not one feeding issue. However the magazines had a break in period. They didn't want to seat & lock into place. After the first 50 rounds, it was as reliable as my 2 glocks & way more comfortable to shoot.
I have the m&p personally. In both 9 and 10mm i love them. They stay put. They shoot really flat. Target acquisition is really great. Just love my s&ws
XDM should be number 1. S&W have been having nonstop issues with the 10mm. I'll make a similar video. And the Glock 20 Gen 5 MOS should be number 2 arguably number 1
I agree. I'm not a Glock fan, but the M&P 2.0 is having too many issues, and Smith & Wesson seems to be uninterested in fixing them. I do own a Gen 4 Glock 40 MOS. It cycles everything, and asks for more. It's my nightstand pistol. It's difficult to get used to Glock's grip angle, but I'm getting better. I'll never love the grip angle, and I'll probably never shoot it as accurately as a 1911 grip angle. But, Glock makes very reliable pistols. If Glock made a 10mm with a 5-5.5" barrel, I would buy it. The G20 barrel length is too short IMO. I'm a big guy, so conceal carrying a 5" barrel while hiking isn't difficult. I could open carry my G40 while hiking in bear country, but open carry seems to be frowned upon, and invites conflict with park rangers and other hikers.
I own 2 10mm pistols so far. Recently picked up the SMITH & WESSON M&P 2.0. Reliable but not comfortable to shoot. It took skin off my hand. My fave is my Colt Delta Elite. Its better and more capable than people give it credit for. It can handle hot loads and its more comfortable to shoot.
Rock Island 1911, single stack. I used to own a Glock 20 but absolutely hated it. IMHO, way to much recoil for the cartridge. The RIA 1911 handles very similar to a 1911 chambered in 45acp. And if you don't like the single stack, RIA also offers a 1911 10mm double stack. Mine has never offered a FTF. My G20 would not cycle Grizzly 220 gr hard cast. Every shot would lock the slide open.
That's way too much power for a G20. I own a double stack RIA 10mm, and the damn thing won't cycle anything. I must have got a lemon, because other people have had good luck with them. That said, they seem to be hit or miss, because there are a lot of videos on the feeding problems. With mine, the bullets jam into the barrel entrance, Instead of going into battery. I suspect the barrel, or something is out of spec.
My biggest gripe when I got into the 10mm was finding actual 10mm loads and not 40sw at a higher price. I know what I bought and I want to feel it. Oh, I have a Glock 20C named Jerry. Very loud but very fun to shoot. Keep up the great content. 👍
That definitely is the biggest problem. The cheapest full power 10mm loads I've found are Underwood. But, you're still paying a little over $1.00/round.
F&N 510 Tactical is the way to go! Trust me it shoots so perfectly! The M&P is also very solid. I'm a sig guy but honestly didn't like the sig 10mm. Try the FN 510 tactical you'll love it! Grips also amazing for guys who have larger hands.
Love 10mm! So versatile, powerful, plentiful. 10mm guns can even shoot .40 cal if ammo is scarce or you are recoil sensitive. If I could only have one handgun it would be my gen 5 Glock 20 MOS-hands down. I dont mind the size-in fact I prefer it so its strong enough to last long with this caliber.
The disassembly of the xdM alone would make me get it over the s&w. After owning a shield for a short period of time, I learned any gun that messed with the sear for disassembly essentially requires live fire to verify you put it back together properly (I've seen it at the range and done it myself where the reassembly is wrong, trigger pulls, but no bang.)
I love my M&P 10mm. I ordered it the minute it came out just because i loved my 9mm M&P so much...Honorable mention. Sig P220 Legion 10mm...also a great shoot
The Rock Island Armory high capacity 1911 chambered in 10mm is an INCREDIBLE handgun, 16+1 capacity, optional flared magwell, threaded barrel, and tac rail, not to mention the adjustable rear sight, cant beat it in my opinion, unless you had nighthawk or someone of the like build a custom 2011 in 10mm with all the fixin's😂✌️
@@icewoodcell8506 yes, I carry it everywhere I go, and it's comfortable enough, but you need a good belt, good holster, and good mindset, carrying any gun can be uncomfortable if you let it get to you
In the past I owned the legendary Colt 1911 , but now I own the Glock 17 gen 5 ,it’s another amazing pistol , and at the same time very practical and reliable , Really I like it !
I think since 10mm is not intended for competition or duty the first priority would be reliability, I love the m&p and xdm but are not reliable to many malfunctions, 1911 heavy and low capacity, glock uncomfortable, fn 10 after a reliability test with different ammo would be my choice.
Springfield shoujd gave never discontinued the XD-M pistols. I have no clue why they did it. They were great pistols, and people like the extra safety of the grip safety. They now sell the Echelon pistols. The Echelons are essentially like every other striker fired pistol, with just a trigger blade safety. I wanted the 5.5" barrel XD-M 10mm, but I couldn't find one for sale anywhere. I guess the people that own them, really like them.
I agree with this line up except for the S&W lol. The XDM Elite 4.5 10mm has been my CCW for months now. It is just such a great value over the competition, especially if you can get the promo with all the extra magazines. Honestly, don't trust the S&W though after all of the issues it has had.
i have 6-10mm pistols , the most comfortable too shoot is the XDM the most accurate is the Glock 40 with a KKM match barrel and comp. the most handsome is the Kimber Rapide. i love my Sig X-ten but damn its a big ass gun. i do not have a M&P 10 yet but have held and feels really nice
I have sig P220 SAO legion in 10mm and I love it, it handles really well and is very well balanced. The only downside is the capacity is really low, because it is a single stack.
I have held the Springfield, Smith and Wesson, and the xdm elite. Honestly I have to put the xten and m&p both at number 1 as for as ergonomics, they both feel more like a 9mm than a 10mm. But I have heard about so many issues with the m&p and even though it feels the best I'm very hesitant on it now. And the only issues I have heard about the xten is having issues loading and racking a fully loaded mag of 15. Have you had any of those issues. I haven't seen any reviews of issues with the xdm elite.
I went with the S&W MP 2.0 10MM and Im glad I did, all the others here are pretty much meh. especially the XD-M, Ill never buy another Springfield pistol..
Honestly love the Springfield, ambi controls and feels great in the hand. The price seemed too good to be true at just over 500 for the firearm and extra mag bundle, but it shoots and handles really well, and isn't too large to properly conceal.
I like my G29 for concealability and price (though I kind of ruined the price while accessorizing, by sending it out to be milled for a green dot and adding Trijicon suppressor-height night sights).
That should be well worth the money for you. I just did the same for my Gen 3 20 & Gen 3 19. Sent the slides to Battle Werx to have them cut for Holosun 509t green dots. They mill them so the 509t will clamp directly to the slide rather than a plate. They will Cerakote the slide and add 1/4 co witness sights. Looking forward to getting them back.
@DAVID FRYE Excellent! That sounds very much like the service I received from Maple Leaf Firearms in Texas. I think you'll be pleased. Really enjoyed the video! I just got the MP 2.0 Performance Center & it is an amazing gun! I looked at and shot a bunch of 10mm. My list would be
1. M&P 2.0 Performance
2. Tanfoglio Stock III Polymer
3. Sig P320X
4. Springfield Armory XD-M Elite
5. FN 510
Love 10mm. Amazing variety of ammo.
Gotta love those Springfield M&P 10s...
(I've shot almost exclusively .40 S&W G23, and some .38/.357 with a Taurus revolver.)
The M&P trigger and grip feel really impressed me.
The Springfield xdm 10 mm is definitely my everyday carry
Currently have a Springfield long slide 1911 10mm. Next on the list is Glock g40.
Ahhh the ole Springfield M&P 10. Love that gun!
Personally my choice would be the Glock 29 … with two mags from the full size Glock 20 …
You left out the EAA 10mils based off the CZ75s, they have compacts (4in barrel) poly or steel service (4.5-5in Barrel) models.
I have the m&p personally. In both 9 and 10mm i love them. They stay put. They shoot really flat. Target acquisition is really great. Just love my s&ws
Do u shoot 200gr loads? My M&P 2.0 constantly has feed problems and drops the mag.
If only they looked better
10mm is such an intriguing round
Springfield XDM-E 10mm 3.8 Compact... shoots better than the full size in many opinions... hands down best 10mm EDC, if that's your thing 💯
I agree that the S&W M&P 2.0 is #1, the Glocks are also a great choice
S&W Performance Center ported 10mm will be my first 10mm handgun!
Kaya, as always good seeing you here on this channel!
The best one is the one that orientates the best in your hand.
You can't go wrong sending 180 grain hp downrange.
next video test all the high-pressure defense ammo like leigh high and underwood extreme penetrators in gel or torso blocks
I have the smith 10 and in 9mm. That 10 mm fits in the 9mm holsters. Great gun
....
Gotta love the timeless "brick" aesthetic of the Glock 20, perfect handgun.
I own the S&W 10mm M&P 4.6". I have had no problems!
G40 - my hunting sidearm fantastic hand cannon
8:46 yep he said Springfield m&p 10.
Not a 10mm fan but a m&p 10 will be my choice if I get one
That's a great gun. Love mine
Get the 4 inch. You'll be pleased
@@dixonbourne I have the 4 inch 9 &40 and a 4.6 inch 45 I prefer the longer barrel
@@mikewithers299 I’m sure it is I love my m&p’s I have one in 9,40,45
Have a HI Point JXP10...0 issues runs great eats anything Ball and JHPs really loves SIG V Crowns JHPs...Love 10mm!
You said Springfield M&P??
Love my S&W's.😂
Same here
The Rock Island Armory high capacity 1911 chambered in 10mm is an INCREDIBLE handgun, 16+1 capacity, optional flared magwell, threaded barrel, and tac rail, not to mention the adjustable rear sight, cant beat it in my opinion, unless you had nighthawk or someone of the like build a custom 2011 in 10mm with all the fixin's😂✌️
Love mine.
Do you guys carry your 1911 everyday? Is it comfortable?
@@icewoodcell8506 yes, I carry it everywhere I go, and it's comfortable enough, but you need a good belt, good holster, and good mindset, carrying any gun can be uncomfortable if you let it get to you
In the past I owned the legendary Colt 1911 , but now I own the Glock 17 gen 5 ,it’s another amazing pistol , and at the same time very practical and reliable , Really I like it !
Cool but this is about 10mm handguns
Springfield M&P?😂 I love my S&W M&P 10mm so you made the right choice. Has the best of everything in my opinion.
I think since 10mm is not intended for competition or duty the first priority would be reliability, I love the m&p and xdm but are not reliable to many malfunctions, 1911 heavy and low capacity, glock uncomfortable, fn 10 after a reliability test with different ammo would be my choice.
I have all 3 Glock 20 Springfield XDM elite and the Smith M&P . I like the Springfield the best
The FN 510 tactical trumps them all. The 510 is a phenomenal handgun
What about reliability? This is the most important factor to take into consideration.
i have 6-10mm pistols , the most comfortable too shoot is the XDM the most accurate is the Glock 40 with a KKM match barrel and comp. the most handsome is the Kimber Rapide. i love my Sig X-ten but damn its a big ass gun. i do not have a M&P 10 yet but have held and feels really nice
I have sig P220 SAO legion in 10mm and I love it, it handles really well and is very well balanced. The only downside is the capacity is really low, because it is a single stack.
It may be single stack, but atleast with 10mm, you'll hardly need more than two rounds
And weight
I have held the Springfield, Smith and Wesson, and the xdm elite. Honestly I have to put the xten and m&p both at number 1 as for as ergonomics, they both feel more like a 9mm than a 10mm. But I have heard about so many issues with the m&p and even though it feels the best I'm very hesitant on it now. And the only issues I have heard about the xten is having issues loading and racking a fully loaded mag of 15. Have you had any of those issues. I haven't seen any reviews of issues with the xdm elite.
My fave is the FN510. Its pricey but its solid. The glock is nice too but id go glock 40 over 20
Thanks Kaya. I’m glad we have so many good choices now.
FN 510, is the answer.
Have you shot one yet?
If you you a band to drop on one
@@DrickoniousBorealis yes lol it’s insane how it fits in your hand. You can conceal carry it tbh. No problem.
I went with the S&W MP 2.0 10MM and Im glad I did, all the others here are pretty much meh. especially the XD-M, Ill never buy another Springfield pistol..
One thing I have never understood is why the 10mm is NOT more popular! Regardless of manufacturer the 10mm is just a better cartridge.
Great video - been looking for a 10mm - had my opinions and you confirmed my #1 as well.
How are you liking Smith&Wesson 10mm? Looking into adding a 10mm to my EDC.
Honestly love the Springfield, ambi controls and feels great in the hand. The price seemed too good to be true at just over 500 for the firearm and extra mag bundle, but it shoots and handles really well, and isn't too large to properly conceal.
i have the 3.8 inch springfield xdm elite
Awesome! I’ve been wanting ClassicFireamrs insight on this topic for awhile now!
I like my G29 for concealability and price (though I kind of ruined the price while accessorizing, by sending it out to be milled for a green dot and adding Trijicon suppressor-height night sights).
Nice
That should be well worth the money for you. I just did the same for my Gen 3 20 & Gen 3 19. Sent the slides to Battle Werx to have them cut for Holosun 509t green dots. They mill them so the 509t will clamp directly to the slide rather than a plate. They will Cerakote the slide and add 1/4 co witness sights. Looking forward to getting them back.
@DAVID FRYE Excellent! That sounds very much like the service I received from Maple Leaf Firearms in Texas. I think you'll be pleased. Just try not to let yourself think too hard about how these expenses add up. The way I see it, doing things to enhance a weapon system's safety and effectiveness can help us to prevent problems and manage risk.
@@clocksurfer Yes, very well said!
Didn't compare to the FN510?
I wonder if the M&P has comprised ballistics for better recoil control. A ballistics test of all those 10mms should be done
What about the Sig 220 Legion in 10mm? I got the .45 220 and love it.
Don't know how it didn't beat the Xten if you only had to include one Sig.
I was about to say the P220 should definitely be in this list
For sure
9:06 Springfield M&P? I beg your pardon? I beg your pardon?
FN 510 with 22 rounds of 10mm as honorable mention? What!?
I have nothing against Kaya, and I think he does a good job. But damn, I miss Alek in these videos.
same
M&P for the win
He said “Springfield M&P 10mm” 😂 but I agree with the number one lol
