@@ishathiru3516use a plastic sheet or palette on the side and a brush. If you want to blend colors, just rub the watercolor marker tips on the plastic and mix the colors there and use water to dilute and that way you can blend colors without trying to mix it on your paper and ruining the paper and you can vary intensity of color and application with more control. I use them on a pallets with a brush for the first few layers and then I use the markers themselves directly on the paper for the more saturated areas and details.

As someone else who was able to create one of my most beautiful works of art with watercolor markers, I'm also sad he gave up on them so quickly. He didn't really experiment or play around with them before jumping straight to a drawing, and they're just not the kind of thing to jump straight into like that without some playing around to see how they work, how to blend them, and where to mark your lines using the markers. I'm by no means an expert at using the things - I only played around with them for about 24 hours beforehand and if asked to make something new and amazing with them, I probably couldn't do it - but I can see the potential they hold.

Most work I did was quite small, but personally I used the marker to draw the shadows first, then used a brush to draw the ink out from there.

Watercolor pencils help me so much with my paintings. I use them for fine details and shading, and blend them out to create depth and detail. If I want to add extra shiny reflection on items or eyes, I’ll even dip the tip of my white pencil in water and then dab it on so it’s more opaque. Such a great tool!!!

I actually really like water color markers and have been using them for a while! They work really well if you just don’t apply the marker directly on the thing you’re painting. Like, I’ll put a few dots of the marker in the margins of my sketch book, pick up the color from the paper with my paint brush, and then paint my sketch from there if that makes sense. If you do apply the marker directly onto the picture, just be sure to use it sparingly and the marks left behind from it shouldn’t be nearly as bad, and it’s easier to shade that way. They’re really great, they just don’t work quite like traditional water colors, but there are some work-arounds for that.

    Hi,
I’ve used both mediums before and I would recommend you to try putting the watercolour pencil on a piece of thick paper while pressing it and then using your brush after wetting it to pick up the colour then try to paint your drawing, it’s kind of like a pallet and canvas
And, for the markers try colouring a small section and then using your brush ( it helps to get the paint a little lighter)
    Hope this helps😊

Fun trick , use some porcelain maybe a unused old tea set I had a few plates left from mine it was literally just a tea set left in our house by the previous owners and it was a cheap set, but any type of porcelain flat preferably, take any type of marker I used my jumbo sharpies and color in a square or more depending on how much of that color you need , spritz it with some water and get your brush and drag it across the marker on the plate blending with the water and you have water color paint 😁 you can either use water or lotion - they both work I used Nivea lotion, the Shea oil infused kind leaves the art work spelling lovely but I used it because it makes more of a paste paint consistency instead of water color 😊

Someone who spent a whole lotta years playing with watercolor markers here! (Tombow makers are my absolute favorite art supply of all time lol!) I like to use them by swatching the colors on the side and then using them as normal watercolors before layering with the markers overtop. This creates the saturated and deep areas you want, then blending outward. For certain colors it’s difficult to get the initial colors to come up so usually I like to fill in around edges instead of the middle, so that it creates a sort of soft/hard line shaded effect! Yellows and pinks tend to have an easier time coming off the paper in my experience while blues can be quite stubborn! With your workflow I’d suggest using the markers to add to your shading (or a bright yellow can create a stunning highlight!), bc they can make the darkest darks really stand out and it’ll crank up the saturation in a really graphic way!

Watercolor pencils are colored pencils that are made with a water-soluble pigment. When you combine them with water, the pigment activates and spreads on your canvas for a look that is similar to what you would get if you were using watercolor paint and a brush but with finer lines.

If you wet them you can draw on skin. Fun for face painting.

I dip my watercolor markers into water and they work perfectly.

A tip for the markers: put a little(like draw a few lines) on a pallet and add the water there, to get more transparent looks. Like you can use it just like you would normal watercolor paint from the tubes if you want. Lil bit on pallet, then add your water and voila

I have have water-colour markers that are a bit less saturated and usually I just draw with them but sometimes I just drew a bit on the water colour palette and added water and then used them like normal water colours(because I don't have any) worked pretty well :)
At least for me (but I don't really have Experience with water colours more with acrylics). But I guess If you want that, you can just get normal water colours😅

Spider man with pupils is actually not bad, adds more expression.

I think a good way to use watercolor markers is to first use them to paint a non-absorbent surface like glass, and then add water to them, and with that paint on paper, since they would be like simple watercolors. I felt important to say this since it is a way that I can think of that is quite good

We were specifically told at the start of the school year to buy watercolour pencils instead of regular pencils

i used to use normal colour pencils as watercolour pencils and just DESTROY the paper. luckily i was going for a rundown sort of look so it matched up.

So far the only water color I use is brush markers. I just scribble it in a pan and pick it up from there. I tend to make new colors so I have multiple scribbles in a pan then blend them in and bam a new color.
