One thing that always amazed me about RDR2 is how good everything in the distance is. Obviously long render distances have been a thing for a while, but i think its the first game i remember being on top of a mountain and seeing the entire map lit differently depending on where sun was breaking through the clouds. 1:52 just looks so god damn photorealistic its amazing.
When I come across these videos it only reminds me just how amazing RDR2 is. Not only for the details of the open world, but the natural encounters and how real it feels. Then when I play something like Assassins Creed Valhalla it reminds me just how rushed and hollow that world is and how uninteresting it is every time I play it. Seriously, I can pop RDR2 and literally just explore for a few hours and love it and for Valhalla I get bored after 20 mins.
Lol ubisoft is fun game but cant compare with R*. Ubisoft openworld is full outpost, tower, full enemys, same full of boring missions(the good part is delete this damn games).
Imagine if they program AI to develop this game on a continuous basis, it will become an entire real functioning virtual world on the servers of rockstar games

i play on a 2080Ti and even that looks beautiful. The lighting in this 2018 game easily beats out triple A games that came out much recently. This is just next level
i waited until yet to get proper machine that could handle it on max settings. i didnt want to play it on medium settings and miss on the beauty of the game.. thanks Rock star for releasing the game on PC
@@hhhfdsfs agree. I actually had gtx 970 in desktop and gtx1650 in the laptop and they both are only good for medium setting at 1080p. So I needed a boost anyway. But yes ultra setting punishes a lot more for only marginally better looks and plenty of times they go un-noticed during the action

In my opinion best looking game is Marvel's Spider-man , best story Black ops 1 & 2 and best game The Last of Us and Resident Evil 4 ... and I also love Final Fantasy 15 ...
As someone who lives near the Catskill mountains, and grew up hiking and going up during the winter, the snow is some of the best I've seen out of a video game. All it needs is that perfect amount of fog, the landscape isn't clear but its definitely visible. Other than that, seriously nailed it. Fantastic job.
exactly, even HQ screenshot shows better detail in between 8k and 4k, it's hard to notice (especially after compression), but there is tiny better sharpness to small grain size pieces
I like the clouds, and field depth. One thing I keep noticing off is most games make the grass move from the wind just as much as trees but I reality that’s not the case they differ depending on mass and how much wind the plant catches.
@@xxCelticFC I honestly believe the wind dynamics can be algorithmically coded cleverly to we’re it won’t be to taxing on the PC usage, it’s not like it complex like water.

I swear this game has the best SNOW in all of games, people and horses trouncing threw it just seems so real, and I just dealt with a big snow storm racing threw it with my dog, I felt like Arthur running from a wolf lol

I say "game" but to me you can only define it a "game" bc it plays on consoles and PCs but rly that's the only thing that RDR2 and every other game have in common. I think it's more accurate to call this game a "experience" bc that's rly the only word I can think of to describe playing it. Its Rockstar's master class in how to make the best experience gaming has ever seen. The fact that people are STILL finding new things in the game just over 3 years after it's release is a true testament to the love,care and pride all the people at Rockstar who worked on the game put into it and for that I salute you!
I found the wild west always a little interesting but after I played this game spending as much time as i could with the side and main missions then I found the 1960s tv show The Riflemen I just bin on this wild west media binge.

Unless you have an 8k monitor, it looks the same to everyone watching as if it is 1440p with a 1080 or maybe even 1070 Ti, the only difference is the reshade mod.
People give Rockstar a lot of shit and I can agree with a lot of it. But, you know if they drop a single player experience its going to be fantastic. I hope they dont give in to any pressure to rush any upcoming projects. even GTA6

every open world game going forward should focus on getting their skies and sky lighting to look as good as this. it adds A TON of realism.

Use hardware unboxed optimised settings, it looks close to ultra while delivering 65 percent better performance.

you dont need a rtx3090 for rdr2 to be close to realism. out of the box its very realistic on a gtx1080 or console
