Have Sonoma start the season the green now looks a hell of a lot better than the Brown it will be in September. That and they'll break a lot less stuff than they will street racing.
Dr. Bananable Lector Resounding ditto! I just hope they forego the dreaded windscreen Yes, I said it! We finally have a “proper” open wheel racing car that has rejuvenated my soul and enthusiasm for Indycar racing and now, I hear they’re wanting to follow suit with F1(windscreen, halo). For the first time since 1975, I’m done with F1. Never thought I would say that! I can hear the naysayers now; do I want to see racing drivers die? OF COURSE NOT!!! But, these guys are highly paid gladiators hired to push the envelope to test their mettle and skill set as well as put on a thrilling show for us the fans.Anything less is a disgrace and insult to the heroes of the past who left a lasting legacy of courage and spectacle. Food for thought: Hardly anyone questions the tremendous increase in deadly traffic accidents on our nations roadways due to texting and driving. Folks, it’s a national EPIDEMIC(yes, I’m screaming) of irresponsibility and apathy for the lives of your fellow mankind to continually look down instead of ahead at the road! It’s estimated that over 80% of drivers are engaged in this reckless behavior which is abominable! I’m a truck driver and can attest to those figures as being accurate. You wouldn’t believe how many times a month I have to evade or lay on my horn to avoid being hit. My point for the deviating tangent is this; you or I are highly more likely to be killed or seriously injured than these professional racing drivers on closed course tracks. Politics and political correctness have all but ruined modern day motor sport. Let’s not exacerbate it.
Speed sensors. The silver bit sticking out the top is a Pitot tube which measures air speed. Probably just making sure the new digital wheel is calibrated right.
I'm rooting for Josef, you're my man this year..., kick some ASS!!
