I lived at the Tarlee station house back in 1961 with my parents.5 brothers and sisters .My father Bruce Dermody was the station Master.I have been back many times and it's very sad to see such a thriving town end up like this. But I believe there r some town folk who have been there for over 80 years

Doing a Tarlee Model layout so this video certainly helped me do the fine detailing on my layout.

The demise of Tarlee RS (and the whole SAR country railway system)!can be traced back to the Dunstan Goverment of the 1970s, when they sold off the whole system to then Federal Government!

Its almost worth asking the Minster of transport if it possible to restore the station back to some formal glory of what it was back in the day, Set it up like a museum with some historical pictures from back in the day. Its sad to see it being left like that. Great video. I may just have to pop out and have a look for myself.

So Tarlee is the next station from Stockport? I used to work with the bloke who owned Stockport railway station around 2000-2002. Ken Symons, I worked with him at a Printing company in Adelaide. Is Stockport still in good condition or has it been demolished?

Wow that’s great, very interesting! Stockport is privately owned now. I’m not exactly sure of the condition of it but as far as I know it’s still standing and probably is in somewhat decent condition. Probably better than what Tarlee is now

Yes Stockport to tarlee to riverton then Saddleworth then Manoora. I grew up at riverton caravan park an I use to play at the riverton train station an early 2000 or 1999 I done some painting work at riverton train station, painting the steps for the train carriages that was converted into accommodation.
