    I have always been impressed with the Jinhao ink cartridges. I got one hundred of them when I got my first Jinhao 250. I have since purchased numerous Jinhao pens. And yes, even more inks. I really love the Jinhao orange ink though it is hard to find nowadays.

      Hey can I ask something. Does your Jinhao catridges have any marking saying it's Jinhao at the bottom?
      I also still have some of them, got 50 erasable blue and 50 black from my first Jinhao 599(? Not sure the type is but it's a Lamy Safari copy with different clip) that I bought in China years ago.
      But when I lookd at the online store page it doesn't say anything about Jinhao and the catridges also branded M&G in the box and in the bottom of the catridges.
      Does yours too?

      @@kokolexx mine are not marked at all. Only the plug color matches the ink color.

      @@CameraCapers thank you for replying. I like the inks in my jinhao catridges and want to buy the bottled one but not sure if the catridges really produced by jinhao or other company. But i'll just buy it anyway since its so cheap

    Thank you for this ink review. I have seen Jinhao ink for sale and often wondered how it performed. I have Jinhao fountain pens that are some of my favorites and it's good to know that their inks are great, too. Looking forward to the Bamboo Green ink review.

    The only Jinhao ink I have is in cartridge form and it is their Pink Ink. It's a happy bright pink and I like it a lot. But this Jinhao Blue you demonstrated has me intrigued. I really like it and my have to order a bottle. Thanks for the review and I look forward to the Jinhao Bamboo Ink video.

    Also have Jinhao Deep Blue. I like to use it in paper tests as an example of ink those blown trough page like hell. Very aggressive ink in terms of featering also. I agree color kinda nice. But price is too expensive in terms of $/ml I think. Was too expensive before war. Now it's absolutely out of my view, unfortunately.

      Сейчас она 300р/30мл стоит на Али, в сравнении с каким нибудь Паркером, который за 57мл стоит 1000р примерно, они все таки дешевле

    this ink is available via aliexpress at 5,45€ for 30ml free shipping to Spain, locally for the same price I can get 30ml Pelikan via amazon, free shipping next day ... so this is non-deal to me

  • @crouserm
    @crouserm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks, James! My ink drawer is pretty "saturated" itself; however, I'd be interested in trying them on whatever I run out of. That said, am finding Fahrney's ink -- I think they make it themselves -- to be a splendid deal.

    Thanks for the review. I didn't even know Jinhao made ink but realistically, I should have guessed. I probably won't buy a bottle of the deep blue since I have 16oz of Pilot Blue-black but I'll definitely check out the bamboo green.

    Hi James, I've tried some Jinhao's ink before, I think it was its regular Blue ink, it came in cartridges with a pack of Jinhao Shark pens, it surprised me how much of a well behaved ink was I even liked more than my Pelikan Royal Blue, it was more saturated in my opinion.
    Also a friend of mine who I got into fountain pens bought himself a bottle of Hero 204 Black which I haven't seen in person but from his photos looked like a very dark black and I don't know if it was the paper or the pen but he made a little draw with it and it showed almost no shading at all, which I heard a lot of people like it that way they're using a black ink.
    Finally, I bought myself a bottle of Hero 232 Blue Black ink (60ml glass bottle), it became a favorite of mine from the first day, it was what I consider "a true blue black" it lays a very nice bright blue line but it dries into a very very dark one, it is an iron gall ink so I guess it's not the best for the more expensive pens but I haven't had any problem with it, not even when cleaning the pen despite being waterproof, I guess the only con is that it has a very distinct "chemical" smell when filling the pen but it's not noticeable when writing. An incredible value for about 5 dlls in my opinion.
    I'll gladly try another Jinhao or Hero's ink in the future but for now I have enough inks in my collection.

    The ink is very nice but something that matters to me is... is the bottle glass or plastic?

  • @davidsi8260
    @davidsi8260 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good day, I'll just add my knowledge. It's not something vetted by the manufacturer. But it seems to me that if I don't evaluate glass bottles, the ink is the same as Hero 223 blue in my opinion. I have tried Jinhao blue and Hero 223 ink. And in the long term, the quality of the expression of the color and the quality of the writing itself, I find these inks to be exactly the same. I would even write that it is the same ink as Karkos blue. I had the opportunity to test these three inks on several fountain pens with a converter. I haven't tried the cartridges.
    But as I write, this is my personal opinion and findings. Otherwise, both Jinhao and Hero bottles are of good quality and made of beautiful glass. The Karkos ink is in a plastic bottle, which is a shame. David

    Every ink manufacturer does blue ink. I'd rather see reviews on the non-standard shades like fig and logan.

    I had ordered a bottle of Jinhao ink (Blue-Black) and a fountain pen. Unfortunately, both were badly destroyed in shipping and I did not get my purchased items refunded nor replaced. I don't blame Jinhao, but rather the shipper that was chosen to send it to me. Sorry, no help or ink and my thoughts on it.

    I use Jinhao Pure Blue ink and pair it with Jinhao 35 sleek pen. For me the blue is not too bright, and i personally don't know if it's because of the paper (i use regular paper) or the ink itself (as I am just a newbie to give a professional review 😀). But, for the price, this ink doing just fine and serve me well in my daily writing. 😉

      I have strips of a calligraphy paper I bought at Daiso (I used to use white coffee filter strips, and they work well, too). I write the line about an inch from the bottom, put the strip in distilled water (about 1/4" up from the bottom of the strip) until the water just reaches the ink, then let hang to dry. It doesn't take very long at all. I'll do a short video soon, because the paper I found turned out to be a cheap-but-near-perfect option for this.

      It's already 6 months and i still use this Jinhao Pure Blue ink. Turned out this ink is quite reliable for my daily use! Enough waterproof to hold the ink when I dropped some water to my notebook and the more i use it, the more i love the colour. 😂
      Really want to try the green bamboo for my next ink. ❤️

    I was curious if you were one of your viewers could recommend what I would call a "dusty blue" (grey-blue?).
    I can't think of something that actually IS that color so I that could say, "a blue that looks like _____." 😁
    PS silly me for asking that question until I reach the end of the video. What I'm describing is something like the upper two bands in the chromatography!
