March 8, 1974 Winterland Arena, San Francisco. We were first in line at 8am. Myself, Mark Fenton, Dana Olsen and Mark Howard. Got our seats in the balcony, midway, first row, right side. A blind guitarist whose name I can't recall led off the show. One hit of blotter. Amazing show.
I saw that same show but in Detroit at Cobo Hall. We were doing acid too & I still don't remember who that guy was. He played some really spacey music, at least thats what it sounded like to me. LOL
Jon has been placed on earth by other beings to teach us life. I was fortunate enough to see the RELAYER tour 75' with the 3 headed hydra snake shooting laser beams out of the eye, I was blown away. Moraz struggled with the Close to the edge stuff....
Given that Yes were arguably one of the most unique/innovative/influential bands ever, it's a travesty that their phenomenal live legacy is represented so poorly/sparsely. The closest they ever got was QPR, and that's pretty shabby at best. They should have invested more in capturing concerts, but I guess video as a home media wasn't a thing back then.
Im went 3 nights in a row to hear the Remembering. 2 Chicago 1 St Louis. It had been dropped a couple shows earlier. For me, the best song on the album
This concert (Feb 28, 1974, Cobo Hall, Detroit) is the final time that all four tracks from the album were ever performed together. I was fortunate enough to see the Feb. 15, 1974 concert in New Haven, CT. Taking into account that no shows on this tour seem to have been recorded professionally, this is by far the best complete Tales concert out there, with the best available (audience) sound quality.
By the time I first saw Yes in 1975 (QPR, and Reading) we only got Ritual, which I find somewhat dull after the first 6 pieces of TFTO. The 1974 tour must have been immense - the soloing throughout the concert is a cut above other live Yes I've heard.
I envy you for getting to see them live in the flesh with Moraz! I've been a big fan of them since I first heard their classic albums aged thirteen in 1978/79, but catching them live in concert has eluded me (I'm from Sweden where they haven't played live very often, mostly just in Stockholm every few years). Tales and Relayer are perhaps my two favourites among their studio albums, and I have the QPR dvd (dodgy sound mix on some songs) and a couple other concert films on dvd with them.
Thank-you Ian for posting The Revealing Science of GOD from Tales, the remastered of The Ancient was incredible, I saw this Tour in 1974 in Baton Rouge, La. with my older brother Glenn & his Ex-Gwen, simply a fantastic show!!! Also I have one tattoo that’s over 20 years old & it’s the YES BUBBLE design from The Tales Album, & I’m so proud of it………l.l.l.
What an incredible song......maybe, for me, Yes's best! And played amazingly!
The mix isnt bad , and the performance excellent . A feast for the true YES fans .
Amazing improv from wakeman starting at 13:03

@@robinwatson4282 quite agree mate
Good sound. Probably the best of the audience.
Saw this in Roanoke, Va remember it well, It was magical to this day. Thanks for posting it
BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks for the loving restoration and sharing with us! ♥
By the time the 'Tales' tour hit Los Angeles, the band had dropped "The Remembering"_ (bummer for us), but the concert was Magical nonetheless.

My first rock concert Cobo hall
Were there any crews filming on this show? were there cameras?
Meraviglia. ❤

Love Howe’s improvisation on this tour. Wakeman was mostly lost in this tune and they had to drop it or he would have quit mid-tour.
That was The Remembering. They kept this one in.
this is a great audience recording. is the whole show available for download on FY? If so, what's the title of the recording?
Samsara is a jumbled jungle of trips
Remarkable.
Jon smoking the wrong brand of weed. Sanskrit has its origins in India, not China.
Quite true
