    I took my sweet ass time before filming this for you guys! My bad! Incredibly simple but very tasty (probably because of the tonne of sugar that it contains)... it makes a very, very tasty Painkiller, Pina Colada and Batida (stay tuned for that recipe)..

    The Smuggler's Cove book makes a similar version (although they use 2 to 1 Simple Syrup instead of Sugar) and they say in the fridge, 3 weeks. The sugar, heating and refrigeration likely helps it keep (although it may separate in the fridge, facilitating having to shake it).

      Steve the Bartender yes and cheaper than trying to buy Coco Lopez here in Oz. The latest batch I tried it with the additional Coconut powder but haven’t noticed any difference. Mine have lasted about 2 weeks in the fridge but I’ve heard if you spike it with about 45ml of vodka it will extend the age of it.

    Some thoughts about how long could you store it: you should be able to store for relatively lot of time before the first opening of the jar because you closed it warm and once it cools down, there is a good vacuum in the jar, which preserves it for quite a long time. But after that, it better to use it inside a week.

    I used a can of coco lopez brand coconut milk and it’s not super white. When I did the sugar process it turned a bit brown. Still seems ok though.

    We don't really use canned coconut milk here, can I just use the thing we press at home or do I need to make any changes?

    Should it be coconut milk or can you also use coconut cream?

    Does anyone know what the shelf life of this is? How long will it last in the refrigerator?

    On the website you linked they said that it was 1 1/4 cup of sugar but your recipe is 1 3/4 cup of sugar. In the video it looks like you're using a 2 cup measuring cup, so it also looks like you're using 1 1/4 cup?

      Look out for Pataks or Blue Dragons cream of coconut, you can find it where the curry/asian food section is in the likes of Tesco etc

    I don't use a lot of cream of coconut in my cocktails, could I just freeze it and defrost when I need it?

      Not sure but try finding one with higher fat content. It usually varies between 5% and 32%.

    When I put it in the fridge it becomes very thick. Is it better just leaving it out?

    Is it right way as well to mix coconut syrup with regular heavy cream? I did it a couple times and it was fine but not sure it's the same)

    If you reduce the volume down, could that make it thicker, similar to the consistency of Coco Lopez?

    And because of that high sugar content it is not seperating anymore / fat is not hardening?

    • @StevetheBartender_
      @StevetheBartender_  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The key is the low heat which ensures the sugar dissolves without splitting..

    Hey Steve. Does this recipe work with coconut cream

    • @StevetheBartender_
      @StevetheBartender_  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! You can use either... the higher the fat content of the milk / cream, the richer the flavour.
