I don’t think people underestimate camo skins (although they sure as hell aren’t popular) but instead people (in POT) underestimate ambushing. It’s common knowledge that a lot of dinosaurs still make loud footsteps when crouching, but dinosaurs like allo, Alio, and of course carno have notably quieter footsteps when crouched
Ambushing never works on something faster than you unless you have bonebreak. Time to kill on pot is soo long that Its not worth ambushing 90% of the time.
I play solo most of the times and I just LOVE ambushing. I make camo skins, I listen for footsteps and calls, I like to stalk people with patience. Mostly, my opponents are my size or bigger. And so freaking many times they call me coward for that 😅 Because they feel, for example, that they can mindlessly scream their lungs out and there will be no consequences. And they become so angy when someone take an advantage to make a surprise attack instead of running straight to face-tanking with the same amount of noise. Many people simply forgot they playing survival game.
If the obnoxious green filter in birchwoods is good for one thing, it's camouflage. You can throw on any vaguely-green skin and turn invisible in those bushes

Nice video! But I would never be able to play so well with all those trees and obstacles... and seems in this game sometimes the bites dont connect... and there was a third dino that I didnt understand what was and who was allied with 😅 What you use to play? Keyboard of controller?
I really love this gameplay strategy sure it might not be exciting but it's so realistic to how dinos would have actually hunted many of them would be ambush predators using their powerful jaws and swift movements to take down prey quickly rather then chase them across long distances, I didn't even realize there was a crouching animation!
and im every time calouflaged so if i come in a sandy biome then im brown or smth and when im in woods (not birchwoods) then i am just brown, black or most of the time green
i fought a group birchwoods / greenhills and when i was low i ran away and slept in a bush .... the EO was looking past me that was sooo intense but glad im one of few green kentro player (5k Skin)
@@MoreGunn it’s entirely dependent on your platform and graphics settings. The TH-camr Khanware has a video explaining it. Basically, while some players will have the same bushes as you, there’s never a guarantee that you’re hidden.
you dont know how many times camo skins saved me on official servers((mostly because most official players are too braindead and hyper-aggressive)) if youre smart enough you could bait people to running off cliffs with simple cobra maneuvers

I am surprised how good at hiding a dilo can be. I have Floodplains as my skin and I'm practically invisible when crouching in a bush!
