    His pitching style is the perfect combination of beauty and rage. He's an artist, yes but there's nothing delicate about Sale. Although his slider is deceivingly slow, it's' got so much movement. His fastball is explosive and his changeup is sensational. Sale makes guys look really bad and just overpowers them. He's overdue for a couple of no-hitters.

      MVPFLF that deception man...also you hear Ml'ers say it's not the velocity of his breaking ball, it's the acceleration in the break. Almost like the ball speeds up after it starts breaking. When he's touching the mid-to-upper 90s he becomes unhittable Because unless you guess, there's no way to cover three different movements at three different velocities.

      his pace is entertaining as it gets as well. If sale is going up against another ace like a Scherzer you know itll be like a 2.5hour game instead of the average 3hr 15 min

    His slider is absolutely ridiculous. The only pitch in the MLB right now that comes even close to it in making batters whiff/stare is Kershaw's curveball

    El Condor! Not a great first postseason, but he was a monster for 6 solid months. I hope he never gets injured with that slingshot of a delivery. The amount of strike outs at 3-5 pitches is outstanding!

    308 K's? man if he threw 300 innings like how pitchers use to, he'd easily break the single season K record. given his arm holds up.

    My hopes for Sale this season is for his slider to stay nasty in September/October, that was his issue late in the season and he became hitable. Come that time Cora has to get on him about resting that arm a bit more for October.

    • @deadarmd
      @deadarmd 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trever P of him being a bit overused, but he was touching 99 and his breaking ball head as much break as at any time during the season. The ball is Juiced during the postseason, people have admitted it and there are some indications he may have been tipping his breaking ball. Or the catcher was.

    I would also love to get your thoughts on Kershaw. I firmly believe this postseason proved that he’s not all time great. He is certainly the best pitcher we have this generation next to verlander, but he chokes every. Single. Year. This year he had one of the most explosive offenses and a lights out pen and still couldn’t get it done. People say that he redeemed himself in game 7 but he only lowered his World Series era to 4.02. All time great during the regular season but fatigue gets the best of him in the postseason

  • @kamb26
    @kamb26 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Might be weird to say but would you rather have Kershaw or Sale? Sale has more explosiveness on his fastball. But kershaw always has everything working. With all of that said, both choke in the postseason. I was so surprised to see Sale just shit the bed in the postseason. I thought now that he was given the chance he would dominate. But he ran into Jose Altuve who was on every fastball.

    I thought he'd be dominant in the postseason. Never thought he was in the David Price category.

    • @hustlingdanny4138
      @hustlingdanny4138 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pff... please he only gave up a few runs in game 1, which from a analytic standpoint is a quality start, the astros pitching was too good for our offense tho it was completely dead, for the rest of the postseason he was dominant, only slipping up on a few pitches that got taken advantage of by power bats, David price on the other hand, well not much to talk about there, he straight up just performs badly (prior to 2017 postseason)

    • @kyrieyoung9367
      @kyrieyoung9367 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      HustlingDanny A quality start? Seriously? He gave up 7 runs in game1, which is very very bad. Yes it was just that one mistake to Bregman which lead to a loss in game 4, but you can’t have the ace making that kind of mistake when the season is on the line. I have to admit putting him in the Price category was an overstatement since it’s just a small sample size, but there should be no excuses for him.

    Sale or Kluber for Cy Young? While Sale was a beast this year, Kluber was the Minotaur.
    NL Cy Young? I think Scherzer over Kershaw, but it definitely is closer than the AL. Thoughts?

    • @MVPFLF
      @MVPFLF  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree. AL is much more closer Cy race than NL. Scherzer all but has it in the bag while Kluber and Sale will be a very close vote. Kluber had a better year altogether IMO. Sale had a meh end of the year. Kluber also had like 5 complete games.

    • @SenorTortas
      @SenorTortas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah but no doubt, no matter how close, Kluber wins it, right?

    • @SenorTortas
      @SenorTortas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well Sale didn't have a bad season. He had a great season. Kluber had a season for the ages, though, and he in my opinion, should win it.

    • @MrSkyboy997
      @MrSkyboy997 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say Kluber definitely wins it. The only real stats Sale has over Kluber is innings pitched and strikeouts. Kluber trumps him in pretty much everything else.

    Sale keeps wearing down at the end of the season. I don't think he's had a good end to the season in his career. He's great when he's great, but Sale never seems to hold up well into August and September.

    Another great season by Sale. Unfortunately his middle name should be "always the bridesmaid". He starts every year as the Cy Young favorite, and takes a dip in the second half. Amazing pitcher, but not a big game pitcher.

  • @baseballworldwide9439
    @baseballworldwide9439 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Gotta believe he's gonna wear down soon. Last couple years has run out of gas. I bet he struggles next year. Mechanics are not sustainable

    • @fighttheclock3152
      @fighttheclock3152 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I think they are, he's a horse and he can still reach back 98, 99 sometimes even 100 when he needs it. And he was extremely sharp in game 4 until he made a mistake with a changeup. I think he'll be dominant for years more

    • @fighttheclock3152
      @fighttheclock3152 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He's also been relatively healthy, I see no reason why he'll wear down "soon" unless he suffers an arm or a back injury. People thought Verlander was done being dominant after he had a velocity dip because he wasnt healthy, Sale has a ton of natural arm whip and his delivery is funky enough to the point where he will still be great if he's throwing 92-94ish

    • @baseballworldwide9439
      @baseballworldwide9439 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fight The Clock he hasn't hit 100 MPH in the last 3 years, and 99 is a rare occurrence (game 4 was his first 99 MPH fastball on the year according to brooks baseball) and I see all that deception wearing his arm down. Those mechanics really worry me especially as he ages. Verlander has arguably the best mechanics in baseball, and was dipping velocity due to his core muscle surgery as a result of a bad workout. I just have a hunch he'll start to wear down, I hope I'm wrong though. Guy is fun to watch when he's not pitching against your team

    • @fighttheclock3152
      @fighttheclock3152 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, its plausible but I think the arm angle works for him, its funky but despite that he does repeat his mechanics really well and I hope he stays healthy. He's my second favorite pitcher to watch behind Jose Fernandez...so uh, yeah I guess he's my favorite pitcher to watch now. Just ridiculous slider at a tough angle. I love it!

    • @Icehawk_9
      @Icehawk_9 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He reminds me a lot of Randy Johnson, who had great years long into his (also long) career, including his perfect outing. So who knows, maybe Sale will find a way to keep it going.
