About this game:
When Isaac’s mother starts hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith, Isaac escapes into the basement facing droves of deranged enemies, lost brothers and sisters, his fears, and eventually his mother.
Gameplay
The Binding of Isaac is a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements. Following Isaac on his journey players will find bizarre treasures that change Isaac’s form giving him super human abilities and enabling him to fight off droves of mysterious creatures, discover secrets and fight his way to safety.

This is NL in good form. Picks up Mom's knife and immediately cuts the Issac talk and kicks the commentary into high gear.

I love that people unanimously agree that the small black and yellow flying creatures that move in swarms making a buzzing sound are yellow flies.
Are you trying to say that small black and yellow buzzing animals exist in real life? That can't be right.
Sellyme It doesn't matter what you may think they are, the game gives them fly mechanics and that's what matters.

NL I went to a private school in America. First time you plagiarize is an F, Second time is suspension, 3rd is kicked out.
I just have to say my favorite part of NorthernLion is the story he tells. They're just so entertaining.

Oh man. My favorite branching series of anecdotes so far.
I remember, teaching in China, where I stopped giving the children homework because the projects in class were a more effective practice of their English language skills. I got scolded for not giving them homework (the parents wanted to know what they were paying for), so I have them the style of homework I remember having in Elementary school.
You know the sort--write the vocabulary words at the end of the chapter five times each and make a sentence with each.
The parents told the school (a private school, of course) that the homework was too hard...so the school, being the translator for the given homework assignment, took some "creative liberties" and made up whatever homework assignment they felt was appropriate.
Quite the power struggle ensued, but long-story-short, the parents stopped being so concerned with the homework I was assigning them.
Also, as an afterthought, I had the plagiarized essay experience, too. Failed the kid in my report, school gave them a B (for good business).
This might be my favorite Isaac episode. The commentary was sooo good

I had a biology sub once that had more respect than our regular teacher because the sub actually communicated with the class and was extremely interesting to listen to.
this is probably the most interesting commentary from NL in a while
I remember one time, I think like in 8th grade my class had a substitute. An hour or so in she ran out of the class in tears. Strangely enough, I don't think we even get in trouble the next day. Our teacher just shook her head with a wry smile as if to say; "You little fuckers."
NL being afraid of fire made me truly realize something. Me and my friends straight up light each others socks on fire for shits and giggles. I don't think Egg and I would get along very well

The real terrifying nature of designer babies was highlighted in what, Gattaca, was it? Where people who AREN'T genetically modified will no longer be able to compete in the highly desireable markets because they've been designed to be more intelligent, more athletic and more creative.

As a teenager (soon to be college student) who wants to be a teacher, I completely agree. I know teaching is gonna be hell, but the idea of basically forming a whole society to become better, smarter people as a result is more than worth it.
A teacher that actually cares makes a huge difference. Everyone remembers their favorite teachers forever. I also remember the ones who shouldn't have had the job.
At my school teachers are cool if you are cool, but don't except that you will pass if you don't work.
This is the ideal situation for me. Back when our parents went to school they were getting shit on for doing bad at school, now it's parents who blame the teacher. That really sucks.
But yeah, cool teachers are fun but if they drop their guard there will be an asshole to use that opportuinty.

Scoundrel More like a hatred for these children's parents. My mom and sister are teachers, the stories I've heard about some of the parents make you realize some parents are real pieces of shit, it's hard to blame the kid when their parents are garbage.

If you wanna talk about absurd biology stories: I once put metal test tube holders onto a Bunsen burner for a few minutes, then proceeded to brand my left hand. all for a dollar. I got kicked out of that class.

in high school I had a history teacher who I think also taught at a college(that's what the administration told us) and I don't think we ever went a full week without a sub, the one of the subs actually showed us the Facebook group for all of her subs

I had terrible substitute teachers before. To the point where one was literally like "Yeah do whatever I'm just gonna read my book don't bother me."
Funny thing is he got punished for that, but I've had my fair share of terrible substitute teachers.

To your point about substitute teachers, my middle school had like a few 'go-to' subs, and one was ALWAYS skeptical of the class, no matter how they were acting. It seemed like she was disrespected so much that even if we were telling the truth of what we were doing, she still looked at us sideways. If she couldn't trust us from day one, how could we respect her?

Just so you know NL, Massachusetts requires that you have at least a master's degree to teach any level of education. You can exit college and teach for up to 5 years, but must have a master's before those 5 years are up.

I was once in history and we had a sub. The sub asked my friends and I about a students work since it was too well worded for the age group of 13 year old boys. We spent 5 minutes on google and found the exact essay word for word on page 3. Should do your homework better kids, at least go to page 10 or something.

I took Taekwondo in about 5th /6th grade (So I maybe 10 or 12?) I was HORRIBLE at forms so bad in fact I had 2 teachers literally holding my head straight because I was so bad at them, I would of never passed any tests at all based on forms.
I always opted for the board breaking and sparing because I was about 5 inches taller than the other kids and a year or 2 older or so, naturally this led to lopsided fights of me easily winning the spars because I was that much bigger, breaking boards was simple you just had to pick an easy to break piece like pine or that crap you get from Menards that costs $2 a board
I made it all the way to Brown/ (Red/Black 3 stripes whatever its different pending on region) and for your black belt you had to spar against 2 random people of a judges choosing. Little did the judge know my best friend was also around the same height, age as me and just so happend to get picked to go against me and 1 other guy.. As soon as that spar started we 2v1d the other random person instead of the "traditional" 1v1v1 situation that was supposed to happen.
We pulled one over on the judge and got our black belts, it was hilarious and we thought we were so smart.
