    this strategy m15 did not use high time frame filter?

      If you are entering on the 5M, you can use the 15M or 30M as HFT. If you enter on the 15M, I'd use the 1H as the filter.

    Thank you for your video. Great playlist for ichimoku strategy.
    1. In this video for cyrpto, you use 15m, do I need to compare the signal in higher timeframe like you dis for 4H/Daily?
    2. On a long buy, if the prev candle break out from the clous with a long/high candle stick, is it a good entry for the current candle if every rules checked?
    3. Trailing the TP on a entry, if the KJ/TK is below/above intial SL for few candle stick, Is it better to change the SL to the KJ/TK, but It will further away or increase the SL value? Or it will be better to trail until the KJ/TK is within the SL zone thn move the SL?
    4. Can I use this system in smaller timeframe 15m/1H for currency pair? All your prev video was on 4H/Daily only. Just wondering if it only work on bigger timeframe?
    Thank again for the video. Had to watch the playlist couple of time to really understand the systen. 😅

      Hi Myth. Good questions.
      1. The higher TF should be 4x to 6x higher. For the 15M entry, use the 1H to filter.
      2. This video is talking about the bounce, not breakout method. If the previous candle broke above the cloud but closed below TK and the current candle closed above TK/KJ and everything is valid then you can take the trade. If the previous candle closed above the cloud and also above TK, then a long bounce on the next candle would not be possible.
      3. My initial stop loss is always set to a multiple of ATR. This is -1R of risk. If TK/KJ is in between initial SL and price, it is possible to only take a -0.5R loss if price closed past the TK. Ex: Price is $50,100 and SL is $50,000. Price closed below TK at $50,050. I exit everything for less than a full loss. If TK were initially at 49,900 I wouldn’t want to set my initial stop loss there bc you either have to reduce your sizing in half which cuts down your winners, or you keep your sizing the same and have at least 2x risk.
      4. Previous questions were does the bounce work on other things besides forex and does it work on the lower TFs. This video addressed both. Yes, you can use 15/1H for currencies and not just for crypto. The only thing to keep in mind is that crypto doesn’t have the rollover period like forex does. For forex from 5-6pm, the spreads get crazy. I wouldn’t want to take a trade at 3pm and risk my 10pip stop turning into a 30pip stop at 5:15pm.

      @@kevincortese7751 Thank you for your responds. I am wondering if it be a better confirmation of the system, if I compare across 3 time frame eg 4H/Daily and another additional 1H, just to confirm the trend before entry ? But does this also make me lose opportunity on entry for being extra cautious?

      I feel the daily may be slightly useful for filtering 1H but it's probably too far removed from the 15M. A retracement of a thousand pips can happen and the daily may still is not completely aligned for a short. Feel free to experiment and see how it works in a decent size of backtested trades.

    What if the entry candle is so big that even 1.5 ATR lies inside the candle what will be the sl, 15min TF.
    1.5ATR or slow moving line

    • @kevincortese7751
      @kevincortese7751  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question Kiranhadli. A massive move could be news driven and I'd sit on the sidelines for a bit to let things settle down. Many other retail traders may be experiencing fear of missing out and they jump into the trade as they see price moving away. Price is likely to retrace, take their stops and then move back in the direction without them. If you're entering on the 1H or 4H, I'd definitely wait. If the large candle is from the 15M, it's less bad to enter but not great. New trades come every day and there's nothing wrong with sitting this one out.

    Hi Kevin The working days was 6 in a week and 1 day off in japan in past times. So they made the ichi 9 days for 1.5 week days and 26 days for 3.5 weeks. If we convert it today can we make 7 days for 1.5 week and 21 or 22 days for 3.5 weeks. Did u try the ichi like this? does it change the result much? just an idea

      At 5:26 I show the previous candle was below the faster moving average and then the very last candle moved up and closed above. You need the previous candle to close on the other side of TK to have some kind of retracement. If price keeps making higher highs every candle we don't want to chase price higher. We want price to go down a little and the confirmation to go long is when price turns around and closed back in our direction.

      Ichimoku has worked well in crypto, metals, etc. I'd use the higher time frame to filter out some of the marginal trades like I've talked about in the ichimoku playlist. I'd use 4x to 6x your entry as the higher time frame (15M entry/1H filter, 1H entry/4H filter, etc)

    Amazing video!
    I have a few questions though:
    1) in your previous videos when you trail using the MAs, you move your stop loss close to the wick of the candle that closed below the MA (if long) or above the wick (if short). You didn't exit the trade as soon as it closed above or below as you do in this video. Is that because it's a lower time frame?
    2) when trading the 15 min, would you use the higher time frames (1hr?) To confirm the entry signals as you did with the 4hr and daily chart in your previous videos?

    • @kevincortese7751
      @kevincortese7751  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Most people aren't disciplined to move their stop loss and get out at a future time so it's better if they just exit immediately. Yes, the higher time frame is 4-6x higher. So 15m/1H, 4H/24H. The daily is too far away from the 15M.

      Thanks! I haven't fully backtested RSI but I took a quick look at since the bounce needs a slight retracement past the moving average and then back again, it tends to reset the RSI so it's rarely past the 80 level from what I've seen. For example: www.tradingview.com/x/wbUT5z8E/ we have a pretty straight up move, get a new bounce signal towards the top of the curve but RSI is only a little over 60. HA candles can be good - specifically for a trailing exit, not for an entry. I could trail them 2 candles back but move it up to just past the wick on a doji or the opposite color. I'd encourage you to backtest using KJ and then compare them to HA and see what you like more.
