      Better heat desipation. As heat move upward from more area. Horizontal means here parallel to earth. Exactly like, tea will cool faster in a plate.

      Horizontal to earth provides better cooling area, as heat goes upward. Tea in a plate will cool faster.

    Hello sir ye bata dijiye ki mujhe aisa lagta hai ki mere ghar ka consumption utna nahi hai jitna meter me unite aa rhe hai mujhe aisa lagta hai meter tej chalta hai.
    Pta nhi kyo kuchh bataye
    POWER FACTOR 0.4 ,0.5 aise show krta hai ,jabki PF ko 0.9 hota chahiye.
    (Kya aisa ho sakta hai ki ghhar ki wiring maine. Khud hi kiya hai aur kahi kahi. Wire me maine allunminium ki cable ka bhi use kiya jo mere pass purani rakkhhi thi.
    To sir lya meter reading fast unite ki allunminium wire ki bui fark ho sakta hai kya?
    Help kare aur kuchh sujhaw de.
    Aur aisa mujhe issliye lga ki mere ghar ke
    Bagal wale ke yaha freez bhi hai. Tab bhi uska bil mere se kam aata hai.

    Such a good video..
    I have a question i am asking you because you are experienced and have a good knowledge, so i thought you can help me.
    I am using three 1/4W 330K resistor in series, my input voltage for those resistors is AC 230V
    Now the issue is that my resistors are getting open (i checked using DMM)
    And any one resistor from that series is getting open.
    I am just using this for voltage sensing the output of these three resistors is fed to opamp only.
    What will be the reason for this..?

      More than 100k value resistor are less reliable and get opened frequently. I have explained this in my 2 videos of 20 tips for electronic circuit. Use 1W resistor 330k or 10 resistors of 100k 0.25W in series.

      @@GKAgrawal2 one thing is that when i was using 330k 1206 smd resistors those resistors had worked fine and i never faced open resistor issue. What is the reason.
      And what should I prefer smd or through hole resistors

      Note that My comment is for carbon film or metal film normal radial type resistor and not for SMD resistor. We have used SMD types also but, but I have no information about failure of that. Then other than wattage, other things like voltage, heating of nearby components, ambient temperature, moisture etc also matters.

      2W kaa laga saktey hai. Kaam karehaa, heating bhi less hogaa. Resistor value vahi 4.7k honi chahiye.

      if you will connect in parallel than your watts become 15 and resistor value 6.66 ohm and other if you will connect your resistor in series value will become 30 ohm and watts you have to take according 2.5 watts resistor 🙏🙏🙏

      If you put hot tea on a plate, it becomes cool faster, because of more area horizontally. Similarly if the resistor is horizontal, it will cool faster and so temperature rise will be less.
      If you keep your internet modem vertical, it will be hotter. Keeping it horizontal will keep it cool.
      Try to keep your mobile horizontal with the back side at the top, while charging for better cooling.

      4.7 ohm, 100 watts wire wound resistor. Or You can cut any old heater coil for suitable resistance value of 4.7 ohm also.

      Small watts resistor loss like in few milli watts then no problem. Problem is with high loss power resistor. Horizontal does not mean parallel to the PCB. Horizontal means parallel to the earth while in use, for better heat dissipation. As you have no control over use with respect to the earth except in panel design. So you can mount the way you want, but keep enough empty space around the resistor, and also take more wattage rating type resistor. You must find the design methods to reduce losses in the resistor.
