You might be right but tbh musically I always prefered Ashlee. Ashlee had one embarrasing lyp singing incident, Britney has been lypsincing most of her career and she never got nearly as much sht for it. At least Ashlee's songs sounded better.. Both the interviewer s question and Ashlee s answers were probably just part of her PR strategy. It's a formula as old as the music business itself, to create rivalries between various popular bands or musicians in order to increase the public hype around them, kinda the same thing as it was with the" rivalry" between the Beatles and the Stones in the 60s. The formula works even better when it is a rivalry between a new up and coming artist and an older, alreayd estabilished act like it was between Ashlee and Britney. Britney was the biggest female popstar around that time and as such pretty much every new female act that hit the stage instantly drew comparisons to her. I really doubt there was any actual feud between them.
People constantly compared all the pop girls to Britney during that time. In the very first episode of this show a stranger mistakes Ashlee for Britney (which she then says she gets asked that all the time).

The lead single had massive airplay when the show first aired and when the album came out mixed with the fact she was the younger sister of Jessica whom had a big popularity boost herself thanks to her own reality tv stunt there was big hype surrounding Ashlees debut.

Perhaps it was the age difference w/ Jessica, but also very ironic these two started dating, not long after they split! I remember calling it back then, saying if Nick & Jess don't make it, I can def. see him dating Vanessa, sure enough, it happened! As bad as this sounds, I honestly think their divorce was the best thing for both of them. I hated watching him treat her the way he did, because she was young & naive, also her doing some of the things she did to him, mainly from being spoiled rotten all her life! I think they are both with the person that they truly belong with now! Funny how life works out!

I realize Jessica was spoiled & never really had to do normal household chores, etc, but her life, growing up wasn't normal & her parents never made or taught her these things.. too busy creating lil money makers, so I blame them for a lot of her ignorance & laziness around the house! Sorry, but buying your wife expensive gifts, to make up for acting like an ass towards her 90% of the time, doesn't constitute as treating her good, unless you're just all abt material things in life & I wouldn't be surprised if he was using her money, to buy most of those gifts either.. sure didn't see him working too much, except around the house.. hosing down that patio every day, moving furniture, building his recording studio, which I'm sure got a lot of use(well maybe that leather couch did,lol) & OMG, can't forget all that couch warming his ass did, while watching all those games.. actually, haven't really seen him work much at all, until a few yrs ago when he got a real job on VH1(honesty, his solo music career wasn't exactly taking off, never really did!), so, he probably got a pretty good chunk of change from their divorce!
