@@MatterIsNotSolid nothing special, just flipping the knife around the house. Very disappointing! I had two CF Elite Black that both snapped the omega spring; it’s a Bugout thing. I have a 940 and the Super Freek, both axis locks, no trouble after two years.
@@knivesinourlives7997 Interesting. This is the first bugout I've purchased. I hope I don't experience this. It would turn the knife for me into something I count on to just another knife in the drawer.
I stayed away from the Bugout for a long time. They always appealed to me design wise, but the materials didn’t work for my taste. I saw this and it changed my mind. I bought one yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with it.
Mine just got sent off to the Mothership! Broken omega spring, so sad. Easy return through online registration. You have to pay to send it in, and they pay the return shipping. They are quoting me 2-3 weeks to do the work, which sounds good. More as I learn Benchmade”s return procedures…
Picked up this one, the 535-3 plus the 535GRY-1. Like them all. The aluminum scales are nice, the CF scales are perfect and the Grivory and fathom weights. People may gripe but I’m good with mine.
Yeah!!! I think it’s a classy looking folder. I sharpened a coworker’s bugout and I actually liked it. This one is definitely more attractive. And hey... our birthdays are fairly close together. Happy birthday man. Hope you have a great one👊
The coating looks and feels exactly like DLC to me, so I’m hoping it wears like DLC. It’s definitely some next-level cerakote, assuming that’s what it is. Retail sites can’t seem to agree. Great vid!
That's what's held me up is the flimsy feel of the bug out Disassembled and cleaned one for my friend last night. Then saw the aluminum model was back in stock. Seriously considering purchasing one to go with my edc 580 barrage and my north fork that gets some pocket time.
@@butchcassidy3373 It’s a great choice, as the feel in hand is awesome! The omega springs can still be an issue, but Benchmade will stand behind any issues.
@@butchcassidy3373 This Bugout model, 535BK-4, feels like no other Bugout that I have ever held! It feels stronger with the aluminum handle, big time! The M390 blade steel is great too. It’s a special knife, as this is the first Bugout That I really like, great knife…
Happy Birthday! Mine is in two weeks here in Colorado...and I guess everywhere else. I love the Bugout I have had 2 and still have the gray and green one. I am looking at this model but aesthetically the notch between the handle and spine of the blade throws me off.
Thank you! I am quickly learning to love my Bugout. It’s a great EDC knife fir simple tasks. I love the aesthetics, put one in hand, you will love it! Take care…. Thank you for watching!
I've got the same knife I also got a hand made custom sheath from this guy he is out of Poland and his work is amazing all you do is contact him 1st and tell him how you want your sheath made. Color of leather color of thread and how you want the angle of your knife to sit on your belt. Also right or left hand draw. It takes about a month and a half to get your sheath but the wait is well worth it I have never seen a better sheath in my life plus it is custom made to your specs. You tube won't let me put his address on this but if you go to ebay and look for title ( Leather sheath for Benchmade Griptilian or mini Griptilian ) this will get you to him he makes sheath for both size bug outs and he also makes them for Spyderco's too
I found the thumbstud to be bit a low on mine. Maybe the aluminium version is slightly thicker than the regular bugout. So I swapped one side of the thumbstud from my Freek. Seems to work better for me but looks kinda weird with one side black one side red on both knives.
Personal taste; both are good knives. Automatic is the question? Lots of fun, but a little less excepted in the office. That’s why they make so many kinds of knives I guess? Thanks for watching!
Just received mine in the mail. It's a really nice and high quality nice pocket knife no doubt. My only complaints would be 1.) I'm not quite convinced it's worth the price. 2.) It doesn't say USA on the blade...Why?? and 3.) I've heard reports of these omega springs breaking which doesn't fill me with confidence and is completely unacceptable for a pocket knife @ this price. Hopefully I have no issues. On a side note relative to your review, man, I wish you would clear your throat or something because it often sounds like you are gargling when you say certain words like "ahhh". Drives me nuts, lol. Other than that, very good review.
The only bugout that doesn’t say USA on the blade . And it’s not because it’s M390 because Benchmade makes M390 with USA on the blade on other models . Seems anti American benchmade .
I'm looking at eventually getting a Bugout. Definitely getting aluminum handles when I do.
Check out DNA Lasering some really Awesome scales for Bugout and alot of Spyderco's I got some from him and I just made the action so smooth!!!
@@patrickbledsoe2176 Thanks for the tip!
I picked one of these up and so far love it.
I just broke an omega spring on mine today, bummer!

I'm taking a serious look at this knife. Might make it my third Benchmade. But for the same money I can buy a Protech.

Just bought this beautiful knife, love it so far. Where did you get that knife mat from?
I got it at Blade HQ. It was a promo at the time I got it; spend $100, free mat.
Can you trade out for a long pocket clip?

S30V was designed for pocket knives I believe.
S30V steel yes! This one has M390…

You are an idiot. People that left king and country to murder and steal native lands are worried about USA markings. The world is fucked.
Made in Taiwan no thanks no USA in the blade
