Considering much of any footage from this era was either on film or tape and shipped from place to place and likely had limited filming resources this may have been an event that got little coverage to begin with. And any footage there might be might be lost or destroyed. For comparison there are entire episode serials from the William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton eras of Doctor Who (the First and Second Doctors, respectively) that are straight up missing entirely or had the misfortune of being taped over and these episodes were from the 1963 to the end of the decade. It is unfortunate that there isn't actual footage depicted, but in fairness it is an emblematic problem of the era, it is fortunate that as the years progress we have been able to amass more footage from the Olympics than ever thought possible or perhaps needed (depending on where you live and what broadcaster has the rights to air the games, I'm looking at you NBC and your incessant need to fill tim with background stories).
But now we have Ines boubahri : fencing bronze medal Rio 2016 Oussema ousleti: taekwondo bronze medal Oussema malouli : gold medal swimming Marwa amri:wrestling bronze medal And others
The Pentathlon is based on the idea of an old army officer delivering a letter (I think) and the trials he might face so combat sports (fencing/shooting) along with travelling (swim/ride/run)
HHHHH well, in our defense, this were only 4 years after Tunisia got its independence, so a lot of things were kind of messy...
How did they even qualify for the Olympics then if they were that terrible ?
I watch this and realize that Tunisia recently won a gold medal for swimming in Tokyo!
Ines Boubakri also won the gold medal for individual foil in Rio for Tunisia so they've really come along way since this haha.
The Olympic Channel couldn't dig up actual footage of the event? 🤨

@@smwilliamore like pentathlon was not a thing worth chasing participants and filming them 70 years ago.
They are probably from wealthy families and went just for a silly adventure.
I' m Tunisian, so proud of my country 🤧(Happiness tears)

Tunisia..
My favorite video of this series!
What about the running competition? Or the cross country if I remember well
They had so little points, I don't believe they had a chance at all...
That was probably their best sport, most generelly know how to run.
That would be my friends and me, if we participated in the olympics
3:48 dat ending tho!!!
if you are Tunisian and you come across this video, don't feel shame, just tell yourself that you are awesome
No one is perfect
And no one is that pity.
Tunesia or Tunisia? From where I'm from (USA), it's Tunisia
jaisnav rajesh it’s Tunesia in the uk I think :) (well that’s how I spell it an I’m English )
Qween no it’s not... it’s tunisia
You spelt Tunisia wrong in the title
Spelt it the British Way
that adds to their misery
Tunisia isn’t a big name at the Olympics...
I feel ashamed as a Tunisian
Considering tunisa is where Carthage was.them winning in Rome would be to much.I think it's safe to say scpios ghost was haunting them.
Very poor video on all levels, starting with the misspelled title.
If you think about it .. it is not an odd mixture.. They all fit together with the old fashioned out door living :)
It must had looked like a road cycling race at the crossfit games
*tunisia
Well, I guess that Calv*n Kle*n underware really famous in 1960 (2:43) .. LMAO, but it's so fun to watch. thanks
Tunisia, not Tunesia
Cesar Berlanga brutish way :)

JGJ Makeup No. I live in the UK, and here it is also spelled "Tunisia".
Liam Daly oh idk then
