also something to try from my side: dont make both of the sublayers completely mono, put on a mid-side eq instead (or make one in fl with stock plugins) and just put the bass in mono, leave the distorted highs stereo. doesnt fit all the time but can make your mix way bigger and spaceous
You can use maximus for this it separates the bands and you can mono the lows.

I personally love making the blown out sounding bass wide, I'm a sucker for stereo basses, feels like it's hugging your eardrums.
There are ways to make that without it being too wide. I suggest to not try and make it too wide, because a wide bass can really disturb clarity and brightness in a track. It makes it tough to mix well, that's why I only use super wide basses in breakdowns and intros.
@@ELDROID_Music When it starts to get too muddy, that's an issue, but when it feels like it's coming at you from all angles, that's when it becomes something magical.

Personally, i like using a tight kick on 1 and 3, and a REALLY wide clap on 2 and 4. another thing i usually do is to off set all the melody elements by one beat and the hi hats one beat. the ride will fall between the kicks/claps and offset hihats. it makes a really groovy rhythm using straight quarter notes lol.

How did you make those color basses? (Are those the chords?)
A very simple Dubstep bass-sound vocoded through 'saw wave chords'
And dont foget the EQ bcs that makes it so much better in my opinion.

How do we turn things to mono
On your mixer there are 2 round knobs. The small one controls stereo width. Turn it fully to the right for a mono sound.
If you have a mid-side EQ you could also just remove the subs from the sides to make it cleaner.

Didnt use whitenoise, just the distortion
0:37….bruh. Serum fx and midi out…this combo is like having serum….with unlimited filtering options. or at least just take your midi and slap it on the automation, same way you would a vst. It just plays the automation like a note. If there is a reason to not do this, I’m curious to know. But, I feel like this is one of those things that you just never learned about that’ll change your whole life for a few days.
