I love Durkin I ordered had the complete upper 80% lower and every nut and bolt to build it and it was at my door on fourth day , I got the premium 16” 556 with mlok , the thing is a tank ! It’s so good
I purchased this kit before the covid thing started, and the delivery took about 1 week. I have not bought from Durkin recently but have never had a bad deal. Thanks Steve
The AR (Stoner) system IS NOT a Direct-Impingement system. It is just a differently constructed piston system. The AR has a piston (with piston rings) and end of stroke exhaust ports. An example of a DI system would be the Colt Machine Gun (potato digger) where a port in the barrel directs gas onto a hinged flapper. Steve
@@stevestrivia-bystevewagner4852 Could u explain deeper maybe make a video? How a reg ar15 and the (stoner) system are different? Also the the ar15 in the video where is the gas piston? I know of the gas rings in the bolt but not sure where the piston rings would be in a DI gun.
If the gas key was solid, that is, to hole to pass the gas through to the bolt carrier, THEN, maybe it could be DI, but more likely a gas trap system. As designed the AR has a cylinder, it's the Bolt Carrier. The gas enters the cylinder via the gas key and acts on the piston, also known as the Bolt. The Bolt moves axially within the cylinder, moving the cylinder rearward. When the piston reaches the end of stroke (travel) the PISTON rings pass over the exhaust ports, allowing the pressure in the cylinder to fall to zero. By this time the Bolt carrier has enough rearward momentum to complete the compression of the spring and the cycle continues. As for a rearward moving cylinder, see the G43 system. Steve
My Durkin Tactical AR15 build kit was junk! The @Durkintactical upper works with my S&W M&P AR15 lower. And the Durkin Tactical lower works with my S&W upper. But the junk Durkin upper does not work with the junk Durkin lower. Buyer beware!

still holding up good?
So few views this video is quality but gotta appreciate the soft nose pliers
Awesome Video! Thank you Steve!
@ 13:29.... Did you say that's a "hook wrench"? I can't find that tool anywhere. I need one for my build
Thank you sir!
Do you have a video of the bolt and charging handle being installed? Thanks
No, TH-cam made me take that video down and charged 1 strike against my channel
Steve
Nice video- thank you
Was the forward assist not good?
Awesome video
Appreciate you Steve
Well, how does it shoot?
It functions flawlessly. I have not taken it to the range.
Steve
How long did it take to come

Don't think DI ar have gas pistons. Barrel gas port to gas block to gas tube to gas key that attached to the bcg.

@@stevestrivia-bystevewagner4852 Thanks for the explanation but the DI ar15 still has no piston but does have a piston like action.

I saw your post on a forum some were.
@@djindigenous1 I was going to say the same thing. He must have posted that at least 20 times.
