theleogeckoguy Hey love the videos! I hope u cud react to these guys! They are a Filipino (Asian) rap/singing duo group living in Vancouver Canada, they are on the come up, u won’t be disappointed! th-cam.com/video/ZIjSBS5GcIY/w-d-xo.html
I'm glad you mentioned the rock star thing because that's really the whole thing that some people don't get about this hip hop era. A lot of the "rappers" who are hot now were those 10-15 year-old black kids 10 years ago who liked Paramore, Green Day, MCR and so on and got picked on for it. It's apparent in the attitudes, fashion and music. Lil Uzi doesn't even really call himself a rapper, he calls himself a "rock star".
I'm only speaking based on what I've seen, heard and experienced myself. Even though Trippie, Uzi, Juice Wrld and the like aren't everyone's cup of tea, I appreciate them because now the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction and I can flex on my middle school haters through them ^-^
I disagree. At one time I thought Trippie was absolutely awful but this album proved to me that if he tries he can actually make some good music. While the album does have some pretty forgettable songs on their it has some pretty damn good songs as well. tTis is coming from someone who at one point in time hated Trippie Redd.
How are you not the biggest role model bro in our generation. Cause tbh meami your a true meaning of a all around postive vibes. Your a true role modle to me and everyone
Appreciate it my brother , The Oomps Revenge Record/ instrumental runs deeper to Myself and Trippie . When I produced the record it was for my son LiL BeatPusher that passed away on June 15th 2015 .The Vocal Sample is My son saying "This is a BeatPusher Production" When Trippie Heard the record we didn't know each other, he felt connected to the record and he dedicated to his brother Oomp that passed. The record turned out amazing. He kept my sons tag on the record to show respect for my son. Trippie is a 100% SOLID DUDE.
Mad respect about the rock comment. The times may change, but you can't deny that the sound reverberated with so many people, and when artists embrace it(just like old-school hip hop) , they can make new sounds that are unique and invoke a whole different feeling.
Chadwick eh rock was invented by black artists anyway so it's not a stretch to see young artists going that route in their music. Rock music just ended up whitewashed and sounding way different than how it began due to the punk rock sound and grunge rock becoming popular
Kevin R you're diminishing the evolution of music then. If rock wasn't allowed to develop into different facets and cultures of life, we wouldn't have as much varied music as we do. I can appreciate the origins of rock, but to say that it became whitewashed is simply ignorant to the creativity of an artist regardless of color
You lost me when you said "whitewashed." What you think of as rock music is blues basically. The artists that listened to those black artists, such as the Beatles, took the sound and did their own thing with it while acknowledging the artists before them. Every genre of music evolves and if you want to see where rock music was going just listen to blues because that's basically it right there. Your comment honestly is super ignorant trying to act as if white people "stole" the sound when in reality they didn't. Everything evolves and rock music evolved and some would say for the better because we ended up getting the Beatles who in turn inspired almost every single genre we hear today, besides rap of course. While they didn't have a big influence on the genre as whole they have had influence on artists like Post Malone, Kanye West, Lil Yachty, Frank Ocean, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Wu-Tang Clan and countless others who've admitted they like the band.
it wouldve been better for me if i havent heard most of the tracks before its release. also he shouldve added bilap if he was gunna add songs weve heard alrdy. thats prob one of my fav songs of his cause the production
I just finished this video so Alright Dev time for some knowledge. Trippie defines himself as NOT a Rapper hes an ARTIST. He doesn't make one genre He makes multiple. OOMP is Trippie Redds older brother. OOMP was known as " Dirty " Redd and he wanted to pursue a rap career. His favorite rapper was of course Tupac. But in 2014, OOMP died in a car crash. OOMP was Trippies role model and when he died , Trippie said he was gonna carry on his brothers dream and be a rapper/artist for OOMP. The tattoo Trippie got with the scar on his face is where his brother got his scar from the car crash. So now when Trippie says OOMP'S REVENGE , he means Trippie is technically is his brother making music. In " How You Feel " , Trippie says " If you were here , be so proud ". Hes talking about OOMP. He does this for him. You couldn't have said it better tho. This IS NOT a Rap album. Thats what people dont understand. And Wish , is Diplos song , he produced it and got Trippie to sing over it for Diplos EP. But since it got leaked, Diplo switched up the song and mixed it up. Now the one on the album , its the Original audio. Also Meami this album was suppose to have 26 songs but it didn't make it. The deluxe version is coming out in 2 weeks or so. It has some OLD Trippie Redd music ft Lil Wayne and other artist's. But this was a good album. People won't understand it. You said it perfectly bro. P.s Trippie calls himself this generations Kurt Cobain lol
Kevin Ramirezz it was. It was really good. A nice message. People think “ it’s not drake? It’s not Astroworld? It’s not trashy 69 screaming? It’s not hype? Than it’s trash” missing my idols is on replay one of the best songs I’ve ever heard
thug's not trash! he uses his voice in such a unique way, as an instrument. no one else is really doing it like him (well actually trippie kinda does it as well in HIS own way)
i find it good when some songs are short because they dont want to be annoying with the track but at the same time it sucks because if the song is really good we want more
It really does suck how basically if you're an artist and you've stuck to one lane for so long and you try and experiment with new sounds you have fans turn on you. It's funny because Post's best song, arguably, on his last album was Stay which was an all acoustic guitar song and it was phenomenal but didn't get the recognition it deserved in the rap community because it wasn't rap. As someone who was never a Trippie Redd fan this album I actually enjoyed. Also, even though a lot of rap fans for some reason think so, rock and metal music isn't all simple lyrics repeated over and over there are many bands that write meaningful lyrics much like rap just not in a rhyme pattern.
Honestly i dont really like rock like that but with Trippie Redd it makes me wanna listen to it. I love trippie’s sound on this album and really thought it was one of his best albums
lmao you know most of these new rappers wouldnt be here without young thug's influence. We wouldnt even have lil uzi vert, who's voice is in the metro boomin want some more tag?
Touched on some good topics man! Another great video, Im glad some of these younger artist are expanding their sounds and opening new doors musically for young audiences. I can relate to the all smiles but not always happy. But it is what it is, just gotta keep pushing 👍
Really hope you’re not sad 80% of the time, but if it helps, I fuckin love you and your commentary, and you’re my go to guy for an in-depth and honest opinion

You nailed it with this 1. They still suck but this is 100% accurate.

Kevin Ramirezz you'll do fuck all behind your screen. Nigga's talking some amount of bullshit when his album was trash
Bruh all that explaining and it's still a rap album 😂
Kevin Ramirezz it was. It was really good. A nice message. People think “ it’s not drake? It’s not Astroworld? It’s not trashy 69 screaming? It’s not hype? Than it’s trash” missing my idols is on replay one of the best songs I’ve ever heard

thug's not trash! he uses his voice in such a unique way, as an instrument. no one else is really doing it like him (well actually trippie kinda does it as well in HIS own way)
That background vocal on wish saying " I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WISH ANYMOOOREEE " ugh I love that
Shit I been waiting since you tweeted you were “about to post the life’s a trip reaction” glad it’s here

Missing My Idols was his XXL Freestyle 😂
Diffensive e a lot of rappers make their freestyle a song but Trippie had this song already made before the the XXL Cover
Max Davila nah he posted the song in May and the xxl cover shoot happens in April
Diffensive e but he wrote it before. So it’s ok. He freestyled the hook to it.
Yea but he added to it

i was really happy to see u liked this album. Thank you meami🙏🏽
good shit bro keep it up
Rock will never die
Completely agree with you on the rockstar thing. I’ve been thinking about it too. They kind of have that sound, but with the culture of rap. They are just kind of combining the two. That’s what annoys me with old heads tbh because they just want that 90s hip hop, that’s not what you’re gonna get. These kind of tell a story, not that the old hip hop didn’t, but it’s in a different way. These youngins have a different approach to things. They caught inspiration for so many and experimented and found their sound.
growing up listening to rock/rap/r&b was dope because at the time I enjoyed the sound I was getting out of it , but as I was getting older I listened to the lyrics and I’m there realizing how good the music is , for example Linkin Park, they were the first group to do rap/rock imo. since then it feels as if everybody got their sound from these guys and I fuck with this. just enjoy the music
Y’all ever notice he talk too much🤔
Holy Skadoodle lmao true but he still one of my top reactors.
Holy Skadoodle That's a good thing, the more he talks the better. Other wise it's just a reaction and that's not entertaining.
"Been...fuckin...talkin to much" ..maybe thats a clue 🤔 ..idk , I could be wrong
I never really noticed TBH until you said something.
Holy Skadoodle that’s the best part
I think that point you made in the beginning about rappers being rockstars can be applied to Playboi Carti
alan montana FAX bro carti forsho up there with uzi trippie X lil peep and travis
16:50 that anime was inuyashiki
Yeah after watching shawn cee's review, he had some good points and i never heard of trippie redd's music but he had some good tracks on this project. Yeah dev, you wasn't kidding about the album cause i listen to all genres of music cause you can't just focus on one sound, with that being said awesome review and looking forward to the next one
thanks for watching fam
