This stance is often seen in swordsmanship while wearing armor. As shown in this video, generally from this stance, the tip of the sword is cut towards the neck as the body changes direction. In this video, I think this uchitachi (打太刀: first attacker using long sowrd in this video) demonstrates well the characteristics of the Kaisha-Kenpo (介者剣法: Japanese swordsmanship using armor).
Is this school related to Toda Seigen, the blind swordmaster? The description mentions Chujo Ryu, which is something Seigen mastered, and the bokken look shorter, so would that be a kodachi?
It's his school and Toda Seigen mastered the art of Kodachi because he knew he was starting to lose his sight at his last days so he built his Kenjutsu strategy upon that.He beat a Shinto Ryu practitioner by attacking him with his Kodachi constantly and he could figure out where he was because of his constant attacks.Sasaki Kojiro was a student of Kanemaki Jisai who was also a master of Chujo Ryu and Ito Ittosai was Kanemaki Jisai' successor.
Interesting. What kamae is that shown in 2:17?
I don't practice this school so I don't know for sure but it's a little similar to "ko gasumi no kamae" of Katori Shinto Ryu.

I was wondering how to counter longsword's ochs. Now I can try this techniques.
Scheitelhau and Zornhau break it.
