Paddy, if you used wool sheets or blanket, and glue. Then you wouldn't have to dismantle anything. But, you used a tarp and that was why you needed to 🙂
I never see videos of 'soddies' being made. With good turf around, they would seem to be a fairly good structure, fairly easy to build and warm and dry. On my grandparents old farm, there was the remnants of one,as well as a dug out shelter that had been the first post office in that area in the late 1800s.
