    Listening to this felt like coming home. I grew up near a Vipassna centre, i saw many a person float out of there but never felt like i could cope with silence for that long. Now i know i can, i kinda feel like there is too much to do in real life to justify a pause like that. It feels a little selfish. This lady is awesome and her goal of inspiration has well been achieved. Fantastic interview, smoking is a topic not covered nearly enough. Its embarrassing and distasteful enough for us to hide it. @VeganLinked  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I travel all over the country and I agree it can be challenging at times but it's getting easier and easier and I absolutely don't have any problem finding healthy food and it's easy enough to plan ahead also. There's also plenty of grocery stores everywhere that have fresh produce. A lot of these chains that you're talking about have beans and greens, etc and ways you can concoct your own meals. Even McDonald's has an oatmeal that's pretty decent in a pinch he just told them to hold the cream. Taco Bell's easy to veganize. I can veganize things in every city, typically there's always an Asian or Ethiopian or Mexican place that has plenty of vegan options also.

    I recently turned to meat after more than a decade of vegtarian at the start and vegan towards the end. Sadly, there seems to be something in plants that causes me problems. I had spent the past 2 years doing various experiments with vegetables, grains and fruit, but the problems would not go away. I then started experimenting with eggs and that helped somewhat. That caused me to try and drop most of the vegetables, fruit and grains and that seemed to help a bit more. I then eliminated anything other than animal products, and most of my problems have disappeared in the past 6 months. It seems that not everyone can successfully following the same path, at least I currenrly seem not to tolerate plants. Sadly, I've lost friends because of this, but at least I have recovered my health.
    Best of luck to everyone :)

    • @VeganLinked

      First of all vegetarian has nothing to do with veganism. And it doesn't sound like you tried a vegan diet and vegan isn't even a diet it's a philosophy and if you're absolutely vegan which you clearly weren't then you would find a way you would reach out to a lifestyle medicine practitioner to resolve whatever issues you think you were having that we're related to your diet. And it's important to know that clearly you didn't know what you were doing because you've never done it before and you still probably don't know what you're doing because even those who've been doing it for many many many many decades are still learning even lifelong vegans still learn how to take things to the next level. But clearly you did not go into this trying to be a vegan you went into this trying to do a diet. Starting off as a vegetarian is less likely anything to do with ethics and really nothing to do with health because it's not even a very healthy diet generally speaking. So your inability to succeed at this and what you're saying is consistent with what others have said that have claimed to have "tried". There's also many other variables like time of day of eating and of course what you're eating, sleep, not doing drugs, social support, xcetera. Various experiments you say, people aren't good at experimenting on herself typically. That's why it's probably better if you're having problems to consult with someone like I dietitian or nutritionist for a whole food plant-based doctor, ideally whoever you consult with practice is lifestyle medicine.

    • @VeganLinked

      It's unfortunate when people misinterpret their body only to do something that's going to make it worse. Drug addicts do this all the time. And of course food addicts do too.

    • @cbdp
      @cbdp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VeganLinked I stated that before turning to animal products, I was vegan. Perhaps you are saying that I did not do it with the right attitude, which is possible, but then we are getting into cult/religion territory. I was pretty convinced at that point that veganism was the most healthy way to go, yet my health kept getting worse. That was a period of approximately 6 months and my healt was at it's worst at the end of that period. I've never done any drugs other than alcohol (drank somewhar heavily around 25 years ago but have not consumed a lot of alcohol in the past 20 years and have totally abstained for the past 4-5 years), tobacco for 3 years (quit 20 years ago), and coffee (quit that about 6 months before giving up on veganism). I have never been overweight and never had problems with kicking habits if I wanted or saw a reason to do so. I am not bashing veganism, I am simply saying that it seems like the one thing you are promoting may not work for everyone. The same would likely be true with many different lifestyles.

    • @VeganBOSSLabrosse
      @VeganBOSSLabrosse ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cbdpI would love to know more details of you care to expand! I have a hard time believing that eliminating all plant products and switching back to animals is what helped you. There would have been key nutrients missing from your vegan diet. Were you focused on wholefoods or junk food? Did you cook yourself or eat out? There are so many factors we can look at before assuming the lack of animal protein is what you were missing. As Jeff mentioned, did you seek out any professional help?

    • @cbdp
      @cbdp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VeganBOSSLabrosse Thank you for asking, but I tried everything the local healthcare system offers and got nothing at all out of it. Perhaps it was because they had their mind on the pandemic, perhaps because all the tests they did showed nothing out of the ordinary and I looked healthy compared to many. It is very unlikely that it was due to missing nutrients which could have been gotten from plants, as eating different plants and grains did nothing of significance to improve my health. I experimented a lot with supplements too, none of which did anything noticably positive, but gave overly high readings for certain markers on the tests, so I was told to stop taking those.
      At this point, after having regained my health by moving into consuming animal products only, I won't see any of the healthcare people again, for as long as my health stays this good. I will simply carry on doing what works, for as long as it works. I intend to keep trying to reintroduce vegetables at some point, but will not stick to them if my health deteriorates again.
      I refuse to make myself unable to fuction/work or kill myself for the sake of an ideology. It would have been nice if it had worked and I wish it had, but it did not so I won't try it again any time soon.

I've been vegan for 12 years and have been diagnosed with sleep apnea twice. Once before I went vegan and another 2 days again. I lost everything years ago including a sleep machine I couldn't afford. I lost weight and thought the sleep Apnea was gone too, but it was hidden. I feel betrayed, I thought for a moment Veganism could have hurt me. What brought this to the surface was extremely high blood pressure and a ministroke. Iftbrought me to medical system for relief, but now it makes perfect sense. I don't need proteinand limit carbs as my doctor ordered. I need Air, I need 17,000 good breathes during the night. It depends upon what your own body attacks, when I was in a wheelchair and could barely sign my paychecks as my hands could hardly move, I had no problem getting off of meat. There is no meal more delicious to me than the ability to use my hands and to walk.
    Some people do not think this far and have their heart attack and keep eating to their own demise. My brother-in-law did this. But others do wake up, my husband saw I regained my functions and did not think it was enough for him to try, then he got diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, already Stage 4, surgery was the only option to beat the cancer. After the surgery and he got home, I told him you are going now to eat vegetarian as it is the best way to get well and stay well and to help your immune system to fight off any cancer cells the doctor could not stop going into the blood stream. He agreed. He was totally surprised how delicious the food was. He regrets not going vegan with me.

I’ve been on a whole food plant based diet since 2012 but didn’t heal my gut issues until I read those two books. With MS and Fibromyalgia, the culprit is viral loads and their neurotoxins. Going vegan you remove most of their food sources but there are also heavy metals that need to be removed as well before you can truly heal.

      @@VeganBOSSLabrosseWhat inspired me the most is your constant need to help others starting with the animals. I really appreciate your response. It's awesome that you know three languages... You managed to rise above from multiple obstacles, MS. and Your hometown. Thank you for what you do!

    I really enjoyed listening to this. The only part I don't agree with is the fact she refuses to eat with anyone that is not vegan. It's better to lead by example and let people ask you about it. I can't imagine cutting my friends or family out like that. There is always something on the menu that can be found to eat or eat before you go and just have a salad.

      Just to paint perspective, the Liberation Pledge served me for many years. Now on the other hand, I spend much more time integrating myself with non vegans but not around food. My people overall do not have any problem eating vegan with me and I wouldn’t want to surround myself with anyone who can’t at least accommodate one meal to be cruelty free for themselves!

      I have over 70 if I had to guess that I haven't released yet that I've already shot half of which are edited but I still need to packaged for publishing and the rest I still need to edit and I am about to go to another conference (National Health Association Conference 75th anniversary) and be derailed from the labor of editing and rendering and publishing only to acquire more interviews I will need to prepare to shoot, archive, edit, render, publish. Then I have one more event, Mr America, before I slow down. And when I have everything edited I'll consider releasing more than one a week. Right now I'm trying to limit the long term and lifelong vegan interviews and release more of the newer to veganism people. So, like at this upcoming event, if I shoot 25 interviews I'll try to release most of the e.g. shorter term vegans first. That's just a simplistic overview of some of the things I have to do and think about...

    I don't think we're born vegan. We're born lacto. Then we transition.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are absolutely born vegan. The philosophy of veganism is to not exploit animals and a mother breastfeeding her child is not exploitation it benefits both mutually. There is no animal exploitation in this mother child relationship because the child is obviously a direct extension of the mother. And if the mother is vegan she is extending and nurturing this philosophy in the rearing of the child. Children have a predisposition to not want to harm animals when they do not they tend towards violence and zoosadism, psycho sociopathic behaviors
