    Why do we make these comparison videos?
    We know that purchasing a string instrument is a big decision, and every instrument is unique. Since you might not live nearby, or be able to play the instrument (yet) we're here to play them for you and let you hear the ACTUAL instrument you will receive.
    We make these videos for instruments at the Master level and higher, and request that it be used for serious inquiries only since they are very labor intensive. To have one made with some of the instruments you are considering, contact us: Email: support@fiddlershop.com, or Phone: 800-595-0592.

    I'm loving these strings -- I've been using them for a few months now and they're staying strong, bright and resonant on my neutral-to-dark violin. Jargar sent me a trial set and they haven't deteriorated at all.

    I'd love to see a review of the Jargar Superior and compared to PI and Larsen Virtuoso and other comparable sets.

    I liked your scorecard. In addition to hearing the difference between the strings, I would be curious to see the scorecard before the sound comparisons with the Evah Pirazzi results overlaid in another color. This way when someone listens to the comparison, they know what to "look" for so to speak. It's easier to hear the difference if you know what you're listening for...plus you might have to listen more than once; a serious buyer would do that. Thanks for the video- enjoyed your selection.

    Hi OG (not opera ghost), thank you for your review. In your opinion what are the best violin strings for less than $70?

    Are the 3 Jargar violin sets going to be put on the Fiddlershop string comparison chart?

    They seem very bright, my instrument is a little dark, it may be overcorrection, but I'll have to try.

    To my ear, the Superiors sound the best of all-by a lot. It’s a richer sound, but just as much carrying power, that is with all the other variables being equal in your recording, i.e. bow pressure, bowing speed, distance from mic etc. Likely my personal taste being a cellist.

    I never use this jargan evoke but for the MJZ tipe of violin I think its very good t combine. I thought pirazzy is the best but my mind is changing. Many string like thomastik PI and dynamo very good for classic piece

    I think EP green sounds better I. This video. It seems that EP green helps you with connecting the gap between every note.

    Could you also make a video about the Jargar Superior and compare them to the Evoke ? With a comparative graph, scorecard. Thanks in advance. In this video, Superior seem to have a better sound. For information, Joshua Bell uses Jargar Superior for A-D-G and an E Goldbrokat Extra High (.28 mm)

      Great suggestion! Added to the list. Thanks for watching!

      @@Fiddlershop If I may add a suggestion, it would be excellent to do something that I don't think anyone has done yet : a video, longer than usual and with grah/scoreboard of each string, in which you compare and play the top-range solo strings side by side (a few examples : Perpetual, Perpetual Cadenza, PI, Rondo Classic and Gold, Il Cannone Direct & Focused, Il Cannone Gold, EP Green and Gold, Jargar Superior and Evoke, Passione Solo...) This would make it possible to see and hear all the main strings in a single video, which would be easier, simpler, more practical, more precise and complete etc. than having to jump from one video to another on the web and made by different people. In addition, it would be easier to perceive the differences between each string as the same person would play them on the same violin and everything else. ;) But this may not be possible...

    I've had an affair with Thomastik with.... Jargar. THomastik was my go to, however I love Jargar. So far just the superior the stores in my area don't have the evoke, but I will tell you that Superior are great if you love Evah Pirazzi Green. I also like the sound I get from the e strings.

    • @Creationhorse
      @Creationhorse ปีที่แล้ว

      How long do the Superiors last compared to Evah greens?

    • @vanessaebony529
      @vanessaebony529 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Creationhorse Depending on how intense a player you are, I'm pretty intensive so I can get mine to 5-6 months I play monday through friday 5 hours and Saturday 8 hours again, so a concert violinist would probably use them up more. Plus I changed to Jargar and Larsen because the prices of Thomastik keep going up and then they come out with new sets that are 150. The Jargar's have a sweet sound

    • @Creationhorse
      @Creationhorse ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vanessaebony529 So, you are saying that Jargar Superior lasts 5-6 months for you?
      I'm currently using Larsen Virtuosos. I don't know how long they will last, as this is my first set. The D string seems a bit weak.
      Evah Greens hurt my left hand finger tips (I have small fiber neuropathy). Are the Jargar Superiors high tension like Evahs? If so, they probably will hurt my fingers. Just wanting to decide what set to try next.

    • @vanessaebony529
      @vanessaebony529 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Creationhorse Yes, that's how long they lasted me I don't play professionally I mostly teach. I honestly don't know if they're high tension as they only sell one version. I used on my 1920 french violin and my modern one and they sounded good on both. I find it easier playing sul G on it compared to other strings and they're very soft. I have not tried larsen Virtuoso I've only used the Cannone Solo and they lasted 3-4 months but sounded nicer than Evah.

      Keep husbands out of the woods so that wildlife is not needlessly destroyed. What about dogs?? Cats eat mice. What benefit are dogs?? They kill sheep and cattle and bite people.
