Black Sabbath - War Pigs

- Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds... Oh Lord yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah
Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'till their Judgment day comes, yeah!
Now in darkness, world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of Judgment, God is calling
On their knees the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
Oh Lord yeah!
As I am 67 years of age I still enjoy listening to the founding fathers of metal. I remember I was only 16 when listening to this
Music on my LP record player. The album was recorded at vertigo records. Black Sabbath and their music has been on my mind and part of my life for 50 years now. Thank you Black Sabbath.
that is so cool, you grew up around lots of good music, it is different nowadays
I'm 67 also hell this was the music we grew up with man we enjoyed the birth and the kings of rock and roll Along with Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin well you know what I mean
@@pokemilfhunter622 instead of good music we have good technology
Crazy how music travels thru generations I'm 13 and love black sabbath
@@hearts4ozzy cool
Song relevant now more than ever
Songs are irrelevant. Now and then.
@@florianobonfanti7801 I respectfully disagree
@@florianobonfanti7801 Music has been a part of humanity since we came down from the trees and worked out that banging a thing against a thing created a rhythm. I cannot even fathom the level of autism you must be afflicted with to come out with a statement this retarded.
This album was stuck in the stereo of the first car i owned. Everytime i started the car up this would play. I never bothered to get a new stereo
Ha brilliant, fair play.
Tell me the siren on the opening of War Pigs doesn't take it to another level.......
The siren on the opening of War Pigs doesn't take it to another level.
@@robk2410 You just HAD to tell me that, didn’t you?
@@bongofury5924 Well you commanded me to
@@robk2410 Fair enough, Supernaut.....
I ! sir! ,will NOT tell you . Long live Black Sabbath!!!
Here I am at the age of 61 and have just repurchased the first three albums and am listening to this on my tablet at 8.40am with headphones on while still in bed on a Sat morning sipping on my first cup of tea of the day. And what comes to mind is why is this not being thrashed on our radios as this is so much needed today and its a shame that in the world we all live in today we will always have WAR PIGS living among us. Regards Glenn v from NZ
Funny to me how the only guy running for president that is anti-war is a Republican. Who'd have thunk it?
Every single song on this album is a well-known Classic. That's an extremely rare achievement for any band or solo musician. One of the greatest albums of all time. Even people who don't normally listen to heavy music should recognize this greatness.
Here we are in May 2024. This song is timeless
This song is in my top 3 metal songs of all time, it's fucking amazing. And of course is the best anti war song of all time, the lyrics is so powerful.
Agreed!
This and One from Metallica are the best anti-war songs ever imo
Such an undervalued band. They have such an appreciation of the blues and 'feel', the same as Led Zeppelin had a little more of.
This just never gets old 🤘🤘
Best album ever 🙌🙌🙌🙌
The heaviest album ever recorded. Hands down. I remember I was 12 when it came out. No one had ever heard anything like it. I decided early on I couldn't listen to it first thing in the morning or the last thing at night... it was almost like a secret we were all trying to keep from our parents... hard to do at full blast... ;)😅
LOVE BILL WARD’S DRUMMING HERE! AS A DRUMMER MYSELF THIS IS MY FAVORITE BLACK SABBATH SONG!!! BEST VERSION IS BLACK SABBATH WAR PIGS LIVE IN PARIS 1970!
Ron
Ik was pas 13 toen ik dit hoorde. Meteen fan. 4x live gezien.
Nu 65 en nog steeds geweldig. 🎸🎶
"Masterpiece of Black Sabbath and Masterpiece of the Heavy Metal Music"
I heard this album first repeatedly. Truly frightening subject matter with aggressive playing. I was 9 or 10 when my older bro got it. Wanted more, nothing out yet so got 1st album. Scarier album cover but the topics and music on paranoid is heavier IMO.
This album is god as gold.:)
I agree
Sabbath
James Robinson
1970's were gold and so is 2023 real shit is coming down as prescribed
Metal started here Legend of a band.
@imuglierthanyou It was a bit different than Bobby Sherman, eh?
From “Bubblegum and Braces to this...?
Heavy Metal and Hard Rock and "Metal" started with the opening chord of this guitar and then Ozzy's voice coming in screaming about how bad Viet Nam had gotten...History right here in your ears right now!!!!!
@Влад Прохода They were the innovators that led to heavy metal, and metal bands, without sabbath no heavy metal!!
No. Metal started in the early 60s really. It isn't created by one person or one band. There were multiple elements that created it and it took time, it didn't pop up overnight.
In Sabbath's first 3 albums you can hear a lot of Blue Cheer's stuff going on. Like in this song.
I’m so disappointed. I went to an antique market today and I literally saw this CD album sitting on one of the tables and I immediately went to buy it but then I thought I should wait just in case I saw something I wanted more. Later when I was about to leave I wanted to go buy it but couldn’t remember where it was. Damn it I could’ve gotten this amazing album.
discogs has it for pretty cheap i think
@@harysrodriguez9608 discogs is the best place to find obscure albums, but it's a bit pricey. My friend bought some buckethead albums there.
You "literally" saw an album carried by every music store in existence and "missed" a chance to buy it. What a literal disappointment.
To All the Past Generals of All Wars May they R.I.P CHEERS!😎
I think that this album might be the birth of metal.
Put it on 1.5x playback if you're on uppers. Put it on .5x if you're Matt Pike.
The heavy, stoned, psychedelia of the Sabbath.
These drums reminds me a lot of Paul Whaley.
I too enjoy listing to a song about the greed of man 😅
ALL METAL GENRES CAME FROM THESE GODS
Sweet!
Geezer with that bass line in the intro....
Eu ñ tenho certeza mas acho q o Bill Ward na bateria impressiona mais ou ñ !!!!!!!!
