Would be a great idea for a series if a stylist/someone you admire style wise went through your wardrobe and put together outfits using existing clothes? I always think the same for my own wardrobe! Lots of great pieces but sometimes feel a bit lost with what they go with or how to make them feel more 'current'

If you like the fit of the grey washed ones but don't think you'll get the wear out of them you should dye them black! You can buy dyes that go in the washing machine and doesn't ruin the machine! Alternatively, also recommend the uniqlo low rise baggy jean 😊
I was just about to write the same comment. The yellow-cream pair could also be dyed black. It’s so easy to do at home with the dye packs from Rit Dye or Dylon fabric dyes. I’ve done it a couple of times with great results ❤

I think a straight leg full length indigo/dark blue pair of jeans would really suit you. They can look smart with loafers or you can wear them with trainers. I think the cropped jeans break the flow of the outfit sometimes and isn’t the most flattering.
Definitely ditch the black ones that don’t fit if you’re going to buy ones that fit for now because either way you’re buying another pair of jeans and will have to get rid of one when the other doesn’t fit 😊
Dress historian here! They're called a pair because trousers used to be separate legs (back in medieval/renaissance times).
I only have 2 pairs of jeans. I can never find any that suit me (5' 1") and I'm also usually between sizes so they're either a bit too tight or way too loose. I'm on the hunt for a good pair.
Loved the bit where you were like “but is this just how people live? … they’re just uncomfortable all the time” - I ALWAYS THINK THIS! But after having a baby I just can’t be arsed being uncomfortable. I’m on the hunt of straight / slightly wide jeans that aren’t too tight on the tummy… but at 5ft 4 I struggle with length 🫠
Dye the cream ones black!
I often do that! It’s also worth mentioning that jeans production is one of the most polluting processes so buying secondhand or vintage is always a good option too! Good to see you have a sort out
the only problem with that is the stitching is usually polyester so the dye won’t take 😢
Dye the yellow jeans black if u like the fit!
I like the hand held filming style for the jeans try on. Much better than static shots, you do get to see the outfits better.

I’m going through the same phase atm where I want some new jeans but needed to make some space.
I used to live in super high waisted skinny jeans for years. Now I love mom & straight leg jeans. The baggier jeans look so much more flattering on me and are so much more comfortable! 💕

The black jeans did look nice! They only seemed snug in the waist, maybe try the rubber band hack? Just pull a rubber band through the buttonhole on your pants then fold in half to form two loops that you put around the button. You can hide the hack with a sweater or tuck then blouse your top to cover. Loved this video as I'm struggling with jean update away from my precious skinnies! The grey looked divine and go with everything! A dark wash would be lovely, too, with all your light washes, they seem a bit dressier, too. Good luck to all of us, lol!
I have three pairs of jeans: a light wash that's boyfriend fit, a dark wash that's flared and a black skinny pair that I only wear for going out, as they look smart with a nice top. This was a really helpful video for identifying which styles might be helpful in my own wardrode. I have a wide legged pair of trousers, but I think a wide legged mid blue wash pair of jeans might work well with what I've got.
I appreciate the fact that the jeans you went and tried on / shopped for are high street, as I think that's more reflective of where people actually shop. I feel like it's very unrelatable when content creators buy jeans which are hundreds of pounds.
You definitely need a dark wash pair, elevated and more versatile
I think a dark blue wash dad type jean would really suit you, maybe with a turn up at the bottom! Would look great with converses
M&S women's autograph jeans are so good and so comfy. Also wash really well. They're not necessarily as structured as some of the jeans here but look great in the dark washes they have!
I have about 40 pairs of jeans. I’m actually going to go through them tomorrow. I’m tall 5’10, and find it hard to find long jeans. I’m on the hunt for a nice straight jean and a boot cut.
I like most of the jeans on you. The ones I would get rid of would be the jeans that the buttons open up and those yellow ones. I really like all the light ones on you. I think they are classic and would look good with converse shoes. 😊
I think you need a little bit of a higher rise. The cream ones are so nice because they seem a little taller on your waist.
You need more zara jeans in your life. Try the marine cut for that structured wide leg you mentioned. X

I honestly couldn't tell the difference between any of them!
I only wear M&S ones now, because they fit well, come in nice colours, have straightforward sizes (like as a 5’2”, I know the short size will fit me from the get go), and most of all despite their low price the quality is great. I always had issues with the crotch section of all of my Levi’s ripping after a few months, while some of M&S pairs have been worn almost 100 times (factual number not euphemism) and still no sign of wear out.

Abercrombie leather trousers are the best thing I’ve bought during lockdown! They were expensive and I’m pretty sure they put the price up since I brought them but cost per wear has been amazing 😊

• mid blue Levis rib cage
Genuinely don’t feel I need any other styles! I’ve had most of these jeans for years.
I think you’d like the rib cage style, Lily! They’re a heavier denim, wide but not too wide and feel smart with the super high rise

I think you should do the thing you did with Debs all those years ago again - I loved it! Personally I see what you were trying to do with this video but because it was just jeans it was a bit dull but when it was your whole wardrobe that time I loved it
The “open fly” ones with the tassels might be great as cut off shorts!

Know what you mean about Abercrombie and what they used to be. But now they have been rebranded I find them so so good for petite women’s clothes, especially decent quality basics. I am 5ft size 4-6, and it took me 3 years to find a black blazer that fit, finally found one at Abercrombie 😅
I’d take a look at a tapered pair Lily, Cos do some called the Arch jean and I’ve just got them. They’re a different take on the classic straight I wear. I’d get rid of the ripped Mango jeans & the grey / black jeans. The arket & stories ones all fit you 👌🏻
Just remember with the black jeans. Jeans stretch a lot with wear so if they are tight now, they will probably fit you perfectly after a days wear.
Hi Lily, great video! I’m a classic hourglass shape and don’t wear jeans at all.. I’ve always been more comfortable in dresses which can be limiting for my wardrobe. However when I worked at Gap I admired the Mom or Barrel jean style as these are best for my shape, although being so long in the body makes it difficult when I also don’t wear T-shirts to style with jeans! So I’d recommend the Mom or Barrel as these look so great on other people! Xx
I also have the white Arket shore jeans and love them! I’ve got them in a light blue as well and they also come in black which I want to get next. These could be good if you’re still after that baggier, more relaxed fit in different shades for A/W!
You’re so sensible! Btw, try high-waisted jeans - I think they will work well for you. Plus, tailors are saviours - both for taking up the length and taking in the waist for the best fit.

I think the last pair traditional denim colored pants. They came up a little bit higher on your hips and drops down a tiny bit at the waist so they gave you a little more shape.
I always take photos of myself when trying on new clothes because I feel like you can see the fit and shape so much better in a pic. High waist is always the most flattering! And a bigger, structured shoulder with a high waist baggy jean, plus a chunky shoe works wonders with the eyeline for bigger hips.

Jeans roulette 😂. I like the grey jeans you were not sure of. I think they are so cool. Personally I think they are more cool than the black ones. But that is totally personal. I like the new ones you end up buying. ( I have 2 grey jeans, one cream, 3 blue ones , my black is too small now, think I would look for a new black pair, and I have old jeans I only wear when I do a painting job round the house, they have stains everywere) maby I have to do the try one with foto's also to look before I order a new one. Since I've got my two pairs of black wide leg tailored trousers my jeans just sit in the closet. They are super comfy and go with most things.

I think you could do with some that go a bit higher at the hips and lower at the waist, rather than straight across your waist, to give some more shape

Hi Lily! I think I have a long torso like you, and I have found that a higher waist really suits me! Perhaps worth trying a higher rise to see what you think?
All my jeans are from simple be or bon marche. They are the only two places that do plus size and proper petite. I’m a 25inch inside leg and Bon marche is the only place I have found that does it. If I do buy jeans that aren’t petite I just cut the bottom off and make it a frayed hem 😂 xx
That was quite an exercise 😅! I think the barrel fit in a darker wash kind of masks the hip area. I loved the M&S, very flattering.

Abercrombie jeans are really nice ! Confortable, good quality and not cheap but worth it
I have like. 10 pairs of jeans. All fairly similar I have 3-4 flares from Reiss in different colours. 3 pairs of Mango Claudia jeans all different colours and about 4 pairs of Good American Skinny. I love all of them. I have one pair of flares that drag a bit on the floor and I think I just accept they won’t last as long as I do love them with trainers for a grungy look. X

I have so many of a similar colour Jean as well, I am forever trying to find a Jean that I don’t think exists. 😆
I grew up in the eighties with the vintage 501’s and I could never afford those, and tbh when I tried Levi’s on they always looked weird. I think I have spent most of my life looking for that idealistic pair of jeans that honestly doesn’t appear to exist. When I look in my wardrobe I have so many pairs of similar blue wash jeans, but I still keep buying them, getting a really bad habit now. Taking photos sounds like a good idea, I do cull regularly but keep buying more, have to stop……😆
Just my opinion, but I think you should iron them that would make such a difference.

You could dye the ‘yellow’ ones, maybe a khaki as that’s a neutral color you wear quite a bit I believe? Inexpensive and so effective! Would be a shame to part with a pair that fits so well.
Also: the new Uniqlo U collection has a curved pair that may be right up your street!
I have one black pair and one blue pair!
I have 2 blue wash, 1 black & 1 beige
But what I do is the ones that I still love but are becoming out of shape, saggy, etc... I wear those at home & when they then are becoming to destroyed I put them in the bin for whatever but not with the trash, that i don't do

I will say some styles that I would think that will look amazing on you:
A wide leg (not a flared leg) mid high waisted
A leather or faux leather mid or high waisted bit taperd style or straight leg

I don't know if this is helpfull but a friend of mine writes a number on the material of the pocket inside the jeans(front pocket) with a waterproof marker and takes a picture with the jeans on. And she writes it on the pic too..on the phone. Nobody can see it and she does identify the jeans with time with no need to look it up. I don't know if this is a hassel to you...i have only 5 jeans 🤷🏼♂️ I'm a man 😂

just buy a tripod, the shaky filming and the voice behind the camera isnt adding anything to the video - if anything its making it worse
I have 3 tripods. That's not the issue. To be able to film full length videos landscape you need to be able to stand extremely far back from the camera (where you can't see yourself in the viewfinder and you can't be heard clearly by the mic). It also becomes very static and boring to watch. In my opinion.
@@lilypebbles plenty of people manage to get full body shots in much smaller houses than yours and get audio via a clip on microphone. I would personally prefer a static video to the constant shaking.
"How many jeans do you have?" Zero haha, just not for me! But I find it interesting to learn about other peoples' styles. I have one pair of thick non-cropped dungarees so that I am covered enough to be allowed into the chemistry lab but that is it!
I own 5 pairs of jeans, all different cuts and washes. Wide legs, straight, flare, full length and cropped, high and mid waist. I make sure that I don't buy styles that do the same job. I like the wide legs on you. Have them taken up! And don't keep anything that doesn't fit. You will never wear them again. Even when you have that size again, the jeans will be out of style.

I believe you should wear clothes that fit you now, don’t keep clothes that might fit at another point of your life. It probably will never happen.
I disagree! My body changes. I keep three different boxes of jeans so that I never have to buy a whole new jeans wardrobe.

I film 90% of my vlogs. I just sometimes need help for fashion related ones for landscape videos
Shame that alot of the filming was cutting you off at the knee, so it was difficult to see the fits.
