To be fair, he was trying to make the point that he thinks "premium cards" makes the biggest difference. So a deck with mostly average cards and a handful of premium cards does better than decks with lots of just "good" cards. He didn't express that very well though 🤷♂️

Not really. If you are good you should be able to beat single Ysera quite often. Two is when fair advertising can happen.

@@YourMommas Reference to old semi-true meme: NA arena sucks. What I meant is that Warrior was very average. I play mainly Europe and every second Warrior I face is better. In my opinion there was nothing extraordinary in his deck. If you call that nuts sth has to be off so most likely you play very little arena or you play weakest server which is NA. Alternatively you do not pass over 5-6 wins so you very rarely play strong Warriors but that is hurting assumption so I went with NA. There is zero chance that this deck was legitimately even close to nuts so there has to be explanation why the guy thought so.

@@Morgomir09 Yeah that's why you have said what you have said. My assumptions were actually correct :P Believe me it's nothing what that Warrior had. Maybe looked similar to constructed rush Warrior but in fact it doesn't mean it's strong in arena. Similar with lacking key cards doesn't mean the same and the best Warrior arena decks have totally different texture.
It was just slightly above avg. in terms of power. Go to EU, get 8-9 wins and you will see how strongest Warrior (btw. rerolled) decks look like. It's Warrior City there and all have extremely similar build which is nothing like that Warrior. Playing Warrior in current meta is in general all about luck because you aim always for same build (not constructed one) and it's all about how many copies of premium cards you get. In addition Warrior has also highest occurance bonus for premiums so that's why rerollers love Warrior. You sometimes get unplayable trash but often enough you end up with easy to play, smorcy nuts. That guy (noob most likely) tried only to copycat constructed which even when quite successful isn't the best.

This is exactly what made me quit HS. I used to enjoy arena quiet a lot but these days I draft a deck I consider solid (IE 7+ wins) and get roflstomped by somebody who seems have brought the constructed deck three times in a row ending as 3:3.
Totally true. There is plenty of redrafters, especially in Europe where I suppose you play. These guys have nuts and in some cases nuts basically means better than standard. You need to be really damn good to have chances against them and still may be not enough. I have terrible luck so I play against them a lot and I'm often pissed off just after few games. I mean I made over 300 arena drafts since May so I know well what is avg. deck for every class and can quickly recognize someone being either luckbox or redrafting. There is PLENTY of latter.
Most annoying are Russian redrafters who on top use DC gambit so you need to sometimes reconnect if you don't want to lose. These guys are fucking smorcing noobs (they only play Pally, Warrior or DH) but due to heavy rerolls + soft cheating they have abnormal handicap. If you hit one of these it's done - no more HS for you that day. I usually just give up and close the game. Yesterday I logged in to play arena with my fun 7-1 mage and I got it first game. Ez 7-2, quit and insane tilt.
Second worst are Warriors smorc rerollers. These you hit regularly at 8-9+. They basically can't play arena at all, but they have so insane card quality and curve it often doesn't matter. You know that in avg. draft match-up with whatever class you win 9 out of 10 and that knowledge pisses you off as hell. But they play only 2 classes (Warrior + Pally/DH) and they reroll until they get in old system 75DP+ deck (these are all smorcy by definition) with their class so the skill disproportion doesn't give you much.
Overall arena is a lot about luck in pairing. If you queue fairly it's great fun and good old stuff. But if you are unlucky and queue constantly into modern bulshit it's agonizing experience. There used to be a custom in EU to always greet once you hit 7 wins. These days maybe 1 in 3 players greets you back. Majority (80%?) of the players 7+ don't even have golden portraits. They get there mostly because of rerolling as they aren't good players at all. It's terryfing tbh, but unless it's a Warrior, DH or Pally it still isn't terrible and you can have fun in challenge. But these 3 classes and "players" behind them... I would say that starting with 7 wins if you face someone without golden portrait it's 3 in 4 rerolled deck, at least in EU. If you aren't infinite lvl player (which fortunately I am otherwise I wouldn't play arena anymore) you just can't play any deck you draft. You have to reroll weak drafts as well and you can erase whole concept of earning through the mode which was ultimately fundamental concept of arena. Sucks. But on the other hand "fair" match-ups against good players in this meta are super fun... It's really all about queueing correctly.
@@DonFreeq I am EU indeed. I came back to the game like 3 month ago and played it for month or so before I got disgusted by the state of arena. I was not aware of the redrafters at all, it was not a thing back in a day.

Because arena nowadays is all about luck. 80-90% of players play decks with main win condition being lucky and if they get it they can beat anybody. Obviously if they don't and game goes to turn 8-9 and later they are fucked but who cares... Dude probably was unlucky twice and it's enough against these clowns.

Trump's not as good as he thinks he is anymore. Other players caught up to him too well. There's not much point in watching him other than the entertainment value. Which is something he does well truth be told.

While it's true that the average player has gotten better, it's also true that almost all of the top arena players have seen their win rates suffer a consistent decline. Not just trump. Unfortunately the game mode has extremely high variance towards RNG at the moment.
@@YourMommas Very true observation. Almost all top arena players from past times either do not play anymore or suffered extreme avg. decline. I'm very nice example because prior to removal of bucket system I had insane 8.4 lifetime avg. (ez top 100 in the world). Since than (had at least half year break in meantime) I fall to 7.1. It's insane how punishing variance and RNG has become for best players.
Not to mention that these days people do not earn gold through arena. From my experience 75% of decks after 5 wins are rerolled with, I would, say avg. 2,5-3 rerolls per deck. In 75% of cases you basically playing against best of 4 decks once you get around 7. It's much harder to do than to play against 1,5 best deck with better player piloting like in the past. Part of the issue are also powercreeped minions which in large number make decks very aggressive in which case card quality means more.
I would just disagree with the part that avg. player has gotten better. Bulshit. Avg. player is much worse than in the past. It's mindblowing what you can see in 7+. Funny example from 2 days ago: I had 12 win run where I had to do twice good oldschool Vurmlock. Both times happened to be in situation where opponent knew I had a clear on top. Both games 9+, both guys emoted "mistake?". These fuckers don't even know Vurmlock strat. Since the beginning of May I had Vurm many times and noone did lock onto me. I mean there had to be situations where it was the correct move... In contrary in old days it was very common. Truth is that avg. skill lvl has declined. But it's not easily recognizable due to extreme RNG factors.
@@DonFreeq in my opinion it’s because battlegrounds now attracts the casual audience that may have played arena in the past. less bad players = better decks making better decisions.
