    Thanks for the review. I have been waiting for someone to review this machine. Early last year I purchased the Bossweld 250 amp Pulse welder. I can’t say I am over the moon with this machine. It is a pig to get running right and as far as the dual pulse side of it just doesn’t seem to work I can get it to pulse but it’s no different to the straight pulse mode. I have phoned DynaWeld in Melbourne who are the company behind BossWeld to ask them questions and their expert knows nothing. If the UniMig was available 12 months ago I would have purchased it.

      I bought the Unimig 5mth ago and it also has not been as simple as portrayed. The aluminium syn setting just could match up for me. Call Unimig and the tech helped input some extra settings to get satisfactory. Today tried stainless same thing, just wouldn't weld on preset settings. Seems it will need adjusting too, not set and away you go.

    Glad I found this, I decided to buy one for teaching at the Woodcraft Guild of the ACT (which for an organisation of >500, has quite a few members who wish to learn to weld, with a very broad spectrum of interests). I will be interested to see how the machine copes with beginners. Up till now I have been using a $90 yes welder for teaching MMA(stick), and an ebay special for MIG.
    I'd be interested to see how the machine does on carbon steel using the double pulse functionality.
    Also, in the middle of the video at 5:10 there is a 2nd alloy welding cart, which looks interesting. I wouldn't mind a better look at that in a future vid.

  • @internetaccount2725
    @internetaccount2725 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So with everything said and done, what would you choose and why?
    Unimig with ac/dc hf tig, or double pulse mig?

    • @LittleAussieRockets
      @LittleAussieRockets  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For my needs I would go with the Tig welder as it is a lighter and more portable machine.
      If I did a lot of aluminum work, The pulse mig would be a no-brainer. Particularly for aluminum repairs.
      It comes down to what you're doing and where you're doing it. The mig needs a good 15 amp power supply particularly when welding on aluminum. But being a MIG welder the learning curve isn't so steep compared to TIG.

    Any tips to run a out side corner aluminium weld?

    • @LittleAussieRockets
      @LittleAussieRockets  ปีที่แล้ว

      Outside corner joints don't need as much amperage so set the machine lower than what you think and hold a nice tight arc.
      And make sure you're fit up is really good. Don't have any gaps larger than a sheet of paper if you can help it.

    Would be good to see a review on the RAZOR MULTI 230 AC/DC, which is a Tig welder with Mig added on (it has even more TIG features than the Razor 200 AC/DC), whereas The Razorweld 200 Mig appears to be mainly a Mig welder with Tig and stick capability.

    i bought one of these and im really struggling to get it to operate correctly. im welding 2.5mm plate in a tee join and when i set the machine to 2.5mm it just blows straight through the material. i have to dial it down to 1,8mm to get it to stop and even then i have to be careful when torch angle or im just going stright through again. any tips on how to dial this machine in for someone new to ali mig pulse welding?
    also i notice because the machine is synergic it will change the amps and wire speed as it sees fit. i think this might be part of the problem where i set it up for 2mm plate (80 amps or around there) and if i glance at the machine it seems to jump up around 150a while welding. wtf. i just want to be able to use the machine i paid $2500 for and im unable to find any info online. all the pro boat builders just say "buy a fronuis machine" not helpful.

      Mate I'm a professional boat builder as well.. We use EWM welders instead of Fronius, but they're absolutely incredible machines as well... Point being, I just bought one of these unimigs a couple of months back and it's still to this day doing my head in trying to dial it in.

      @@Tazznbk interesting. a bit of an update. i rang unimig and credit to them they told me to bring my machine down to the warehouse and they can take a look. we fired it up and straight away the guy notices i had the wire size wrong. 1mm instead of 1.2mm. ( there was no markings on the ali spool that came with the machine so i guess i guessed) but that wasnt the issue. we did some welding and the machine was running really well. i said thanks and figured that we had found the issue and headed on home. when home i was back to the same old problems. so i investigated further and turns out i was sent a faulty gas reg. i noticed while i was welding pressure would drop off to nothing randomly. they sent me a new one all fixed. they send it had been a bit of a known issue with faulty regs and apologised for the inconvenience,

    • @freelectron2029
      @freelectron2029 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tazznbk but ti worth saying also, when i was there they connected to my welder with wifi. they instantly were abole to see every single weld i had made from the first time i had turned it on. time of day, duration of weld, wire speed, amps, amount of wire used EVERYTHING!. i was a little freaked out. but what they said was it is so they can log into your machine while they have you on the phone and change your settings while you operate the machine. essentially you could face time them and all you have to do is pull the trigger and they will fault find the machine while you run practice beads. pretty clever.
