Reb Shlomo brought such joy and love to my heart. He opened up my Yidishe soul. I had the great pleasure of spending a few precious moments with hiim as I drove him from venue to venue in Minnesota years ago AND as his guitar was lost by the airline, he used MY guitar in concert!!! I will NEVER part with it- NEVER!!! May Hashem bind your soul among all the other TZADIKIM!! You inspire me each and every day, Reb Shlomo!!
One of the most amazing human being ever!! Reb Sholmo has touched my soul forever! May your soul be bound up in eternal life! And may your memory be for a blessing. Thank you Reb Sholomo for all you added to my life! And thankyou for your amazing daughter, Neshama! She is so amazing..... b'shalom chaver sheli...
The rabbi of peace was so loved there was a musical about him on Broadway called Soul Doctor. A shul named after him is located on the west side of Manhattan . His daughter Neshama keeps his memory alive singing his songs and her own ...

My wife and I saw Soul Doctor on Broadway last night, what a tribut to this great man. It made you cry, laugh, sing and dance. If you have a chance to see this show do not miss it. It tell the story of Carlbach's life with his music but the lyrics were written for the show to tell his life story.
I once read where some of the extreme orthodox criticised his shul for not holding a stricter standard. Shlomos reply was "...I have 100 people who love shabbat!" Seems as if he understood the heart of the matter.
Although the TH-cam caption states 1972/3, Eliezer Garner told me that the original recording was made in 1971, as later than that he was living in the United States
This is correct Rav Natan. I first met Reb Shlomo in 1968 in the House of Love and Prayer on Arguello, a few blocks down from Temple Emmanuel next to the home of now Senator Diane Feinstein. He always stopped everything when a small child wondered up to him. His holy visionary songs, classic chasidic stories, personal experiences and humble powerful spiritual presence are with us instantly as we hear his timeless recordings and read his many great books. I remember fondly our class on his type of kosher Jewish meditation, taught to small groups in your home. I bought your excellent biography of Shlomo from you when it came out in 2014.
Anyone have a recording of Reb Shlomo singing "Tzur Yisrael", which I heard from him in 1971 and could never get him to sing again? It was recently recorded on "K'Shoshana" but it would mean so much to me to have a recording of Shlomo singing it. That was the first time I saw him.
Israeli TV filmed R. Shlomo with his song “Am Yisrael Chai” in its studio with an accompaniment of five of his disciples, Elyah Succot (Alex Scott), Yankala Shemesh, Natan Schafer, Baruch Goldberg, and Eliezer Garner. My guess is that this is 1971. Anyone know more?
This is an accusation that is based on rather flimsy evidence. I have interviewed dozens of women and cannot substantiate such an accusation. You can see more in the biography of Reb Shlomo that I have published. Dr. Natan Ophir

Right around the time I met Shlomo. Those were the days!
The Day of the advent of Mashiach ben David will surpass this moment.

He's a spiritual man
The date may have been 1970 or 1971 and not 1972 as Eliezer Garner who is in this video was back in America by 1972...

Ah! the rebbe is givalt
Such a beautiful song, but he ruined it through his actions, sickening.
There isn't any evidence of that . When he was alive , nobody complain . Every woman can tell about anyone that he raped her .. .
@Elchanan1987
נו באמת.....

this is amazing & intense, i wish i could admire his talent without the knowledge that he was almost definitely a sex pest though :(
Not true. Lashon Hara.
