Just dropping by to say nice video Travis! I’m currently on the 100 days of code by Angela Yu, and it’s been great. Thank you!

Though I am not working as a developer I can latch on to your statement about the two catagories of developers, viz. the ones that only need a basic knowledge of maths, if any at all, and the number crunchers who need to have a very good grasp of numerical mathematics.
Actually as a graduated naval architect who worked as work student at a ship model basin during my advanced study period I had a lot to do with data acquisition and data analysis as well as CFD simulations of ship flow which involved a lot of number crunching.
However as engineer I wouldn't have considered myself a developer since we used to code in very high level languages like Fortran, where we mainly used or linked against tried and tested numerical libraries for effeciently solving systems of linearised and thus linear equations, and preproccessing with little interfacing or duct taping code in C++ and even in Perl.
But this was almost 30 years ago since I last preoccupied myself with numerical maths and I have by now almost entirely forgotten the algorithms and have never even used those languages since then apart from Perl, which I still find very useful especially for parsing anf terse one-liners in my job today.
However I still enjoy some maths occasionally on a pure entertainment level like watching interesting YT videos on certain maths topics.
I later ended up in the IT where I now work as something between sysadmin and devop with many Linux systems (in the beginning with the then common server zoo of various Unix flavours) fewer bare metal hosts these days and a huge amount of VMs in a private cloud based on KVM and vSphere clusters.
So today I fall more into the first category who requires little to no maths knowledge.
However, I still don't consider myself a developer because I do merely scripting in Bash, Perl, Python or Ansible playbooks to deploy or decommission hosts, role out SW policies or playbooks on them and keep our systems patched and running.

bro i wish i had this channel 3 years ago when i spent 6hours a day for 7 months to learn.. MS Word, excell, power point; photoshop, illustrator,; HTML, CSS and alot of basic finance, dig marketing, commerce law, basically alot of stuff.. i just didnt have guidance and became a jack of all trades, theory junky that never got the confidence to apply to a single freelance project or even a regular job

First off, great video. You hit the nail on the head.
I myself bought Brilliant for a year sub, but I found it pretty bad. Explanations are vague, some answers to questions were even wrong which just drove me away from the platform.
    I'd highly recommend Khan academy.

If I may ask, what is the little math. Can you give me a list of the little math needed for CS?

Hey dude starting taking 100 Days of Code: The Complete Python Pro Bootcamp for 2022 doing some of the programming have done some programming in the past some of the projects I do have a tough time. Any suggestions or recommendations?

@@abgs Day 10 I have taken other similar classes in the past the courses were more do a little grasp concepts than a challenge using a little bit of what you know and some basic logic. In this course sometimes it will use concepts not fully reviewed in course work and googling the solution presents modules that will solve the project rather than attempting to code it out. The instructor emphasizes not using the modules to solve the project problem.
