    I was reading your post about how much RNG is too much. The problem I am realizing in Puyo Puyo specifically is the way the RNG works, sure garbage RNG can be a big pain, but it is because a seed always contains the same number of each colour. Ironically, pure random would feel less cruel for if the RNG randomly pulls a bunch of reds early, that reduces the reds you get later on, this is very hard to predict, you try to avoid building a trigger with a colour that you feel has been coming a lot, because you know, but inevitably when you are being flooded you have to use them efficiently and that leads to situations where you are waiting for one colour to finish your chain. I've lost to 6-8 chains multiple times in a row, simply because the one of a particular colour I needed for an 11-15 chain wouldn't come, or because the RNG forced a deadend or a cut. Garbage can be a pain when a stray you didn't anticipate hits column 3 or randomly blocks you when your opponent has a double ready (worse because the garbage animation is so slow you have next to no time to respond if they are watching for it!) And there might be things you can do to make it safer, but you cannot cover every possible bit of random BS. And it seems to happen with more frequency than pure random chance! It's bad enough dealing with timing when garbage becomes active, I swear there are times it feels like it fell almost immediately as a chain ended and others where it feels like there was near a half second of delay, even offline where lag shouldn't be a thing! It hurts when you lose entire matches to RNG, how you build your chain vs how your opponent does means different ways the RNG can screw you, but you don't know what build is better for that seed until it is too late!

    if only ShiroBrawl didn't give up so fast, he would've won.

      He didn't give up. A true winner knows when he's beaten. The wise know when to not fight.

      KarjamP but he didn’t look at P1’s board...

      Niko Novak
      He is looking. His actions reflect thus, even literally very early on within the battle.
      Notice that at the 0:04 mark (yes, that early), he moves his pieces in such a manner, as though he's distracted by what TamerKoh was doing. You can't get distracted by the other players, unless you're specifically looking at their game board.

      KarjamP I’m talking about the end, if shiro noticed P1’s position and stalled, he would have won

    The real reason as to why ShiroBrawl had an advantage was because you had focussed too much on your chaining, rather than actually using it to defeat the opponent. (You eventually learnt to do that, so...)
    Chains may be fun and all, but they're just tools to get to where you need to be, What you should aim for is to show cunning, the ability to use your wit against others. Battles are not won through technique alone. They're won through your wits. Contest is an art form; even Sun Tzu agreed when naming his trademark book "The Art of War". If you rely solely on technique, you'll become predictable and thus, easi tefeated by those who know their stuff.
    It's only through mistakes on his end that let him to throw the game; even then, the game ended in a draw, because you were on the verge of losing.

    • @alanbareiro6806
      @alanbareiro6806 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      But then again, we couldn't have this otherwise fun match, right?

    • @KarjamP
      @KarjamP 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alan Bareiro
      To say that means to not even care for what I have to say. If you don't play to win, even within a video game, you won't win at all, especially not against those who actually are playing to win. This counts even for matches that were done for fun.

    • @alanbareiro6806
      @alanbareiro6806 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Chill dude. I actually took your point into account. Hence my "but then again" comment. And videogames are also made to have fun, not just about playing to win. Not everything has to be so serious.

    • @KarjamP
      @KarjamP 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alan Bareiro
      Something subjective as the word "fun" can nevwr be truly aimed for. To do so anyway will be a lost cause. Subjectivity pertains to oneself; tl say that it's subjective means that it's personal. Thus, different people have different ideas on what it means to have fun.
      Video games do not aim to provide fun. None of them do. Fun comes as a bypeoduct of enjoyment, which is a type of reaction. Reactions, in turn, comes as a result of percieving a thought. Video games merely provide the means to allow a person to express themselves through immersion, what describes the relationship between the player and an interactive media, such as a video game.
      If you say that it's for fun, you don'y actually care for what's happening; you're not really being sincere to the game itself. Without being sincere, you can't have fun. No, you're not watching this just because it was a fun match. You did so because it meant something to you in some manner; otherwise, you wouldn't had said something to the effect of, "don't care for the end result". If it meant something to you in some manner, you did not watch it just for fun; if you really did find this match fun, you would be lacking opinions about it, and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
      Fun comes as a byproduct of enjoyment, which, in turn is a type of reaction. Reaction comes as a byproduct of a proper thought. Thus, not aiming to win is bound to not cause fun.
      No, video games don't aim for fun. None of them do. You can't just put random ideas together and declare them as "fun". You're going to damage the thoughts behind it
