This is real country music!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Everybody had their clothes on, no twirking, and no one grabbed their genitals. How lovely. They sang great songs from their heart!!! ❤
No dudes dressed in women's stripper clothes, no devil worshipping...this was back when people had TALENT and CLASS.
Why Can't County Music Still Be Like This ❤❤❤
Because society changed.
Give me a little play
Because only the hicks and hillbillies were buying this. Now morons from all over are buying the shit that passes for country music.
So glad I was able to live back when music was real!!!!!☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️🙌🙌🙌🙌! I miss REAL country music!!!!!
I totally agree with you 💯
Even though this was 33 years ago, these are the CMA awards i miss terribly, all the artist i grew up with in this show were dressed in dresses and suits, Vince Gill, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Ricky Van Shelton, Keith Whitley just too many to name.
Wow!Please bring back the old Country music!I miss you so much!😥🙏♥️
Alan Jackson has an absolutely new old country album. It's incredible.
Keith Whitley will never be forgotten. I listen to that man everyday .
Agreed & Amen ! “the wonderful Keith Whitley .. lives on with his music forever as far as i’m concerned.” -Patty Loveless at the 1989 Music City News Country awards.
I listen to all of our country artists that are now in heaven. When I travel north to visit my mom. Keith Whitley is on my playlist, along with George and Tammy, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings.
He has a statue as seen other day on my phone
Alan Jackson had just arrived on the country music scene at this moment. Ended up in the hall of fame and a true country legend
Very good performance Randy Travis & remembering George Jones & Tammy Wynette & others thanks
Anyone else crying while watching Tennessee Ernie Ford and his wife's excitement? You rarely see couples like that anymore. My husband and I are going on 37 years together and looking forward to many more.
I'm so glad I grew up listening to this kinda Country!!! Times sure have changed...
Love these old CMA awards shows. Tanya Tucker...always a rebel. Love her! Great show. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore.
So do I. This year I was so amazed!!
Vince Gill was genuine then and still genuine now. Bless him. All the others did great too. Loved it.
When country music singers had class, respect, and love for their country. Not much of that around these days.
You are so right !

Back when Country sounded Country.
Loved this vidio
Yesss❤❤
This is real country music. I really miss my country music. Real country singers. You can see I love the word country. The new country singers are no longer country. No feeling in their singing. All the old singers are few and far between. When they do sing you know you are listening to country.
Tanya's still kickin it strong . Wish they'd put her in the Hall of Fame.

I too am sick of todays junk they call country, maybe it's time to get back to where we can stand to listen to country radio.
Ricky Van Shelton was and still best country singer of all time. Come back out Ricky . Country music needs you terribly. .
I agree the man can sing but in my opinion, he’s far from the best country singer of all time!
@@Robmeister-ef2yr Oh my Robmeister your so wrong. These, so called country young'uns can't hold a candle to Ricky, even as he grows older and Merle was right in there in the best category too.
Real country singers back in those days. We still got Alan Jackson.
George Strait is still alive too
Miss those days when country was country. I loved it. Can't stand it now. Thank you. ❤️🎵
From another buckeye gal, I second that! Love your profile pic 💯
Sure miss the days when these singers ruled the airwaves. Vince Gill and Patty Loveless maybe have the best harmonies I've heard in country music. Gives you chills.
Gill blows
@@wa2k99 To each his own.
In the '90s, Nashville made a conscious decision to dumb-down the genre. Today, country music is a disgrace.
When country music and our patriotism was like it should be!🇺🇸 Maybe Lord Willing it will be that way again someday🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wow. Just the songs for the first award single of the year..Here in the Real World, Killin' Time, When I Call Your Name, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Where've You Been!!!
I sure do miss these real country music award shows.
When country music was so good. Some of the greatest music ever. I love it !
ALANJACKSON is really the best singer of the 80,s & 90,s, and todsy I will listen to his songs before many others. Like them all tho,.Great show!!! So special. Sorry about Keith's untimely death, so young!!R.I.P 🤷 Keith.
Keith who??
@@Exotic3000 Keith Whitley, he died way to young. He was married to Lorrie Morgan when he passed.
@@rainydaydiva6320 is he’s asking Keith who, he’s part of the new era of what they call “today’s music”, otherwise known as trash!
Great alan you are the best always beautiful singer and beautiful music
Oh my gosh the moment Tammy, George and Randy are on the stage my gosh what a moment... Legends!!!!!!!!!
I was 4 in 1990 and was a singer. Well such as you can be at 4. Larry Gatlin invited mom and I to his home and to Fanfair that year. The big ending concert that week featured Garth, Vince, Travis, Allen, Clint, and a few more as I recall. I was tired of going all over town meeting people and refused to go. We had back stage and front row. One of the biggest regrets of my life! This was just an amazing time to grow up.
I miss this kind of country music, 90's country.
Ooh, so that's what country music is supposed to sound like. I'd forgotten how wonderful it was back in the day.
Reba sings, You lie, with grace and precision and perfection, but believe me I still struggle singing it years later.
Good music, what happened? New country music sucks.
Real country music. Miss these days.
I like this music, but here is to see 👀 and hear 👂 at germany……. God bless Amerika and the Music.
Back when country music wasn’t a bunch of skinny jeans and pop shit.
Slowly losing all the greats, miss all that twang..Love that older country..
probably one the last true country awards show
Ur absolutely right. They sing country music and dress accordingly showing that they are true country not like what is supposedly country today 2021.
@@dorothypascoe5708 Agree - It’s gone too Hollywood-ish - liked the older versions like this much better!
1994 was a great one.
@@janeburton7647 isn't that it's gone to hollywood-ish its gone way off tradtional country music that this is
Notice that NO ONE has those ear pieces in to hear themselves and they sound just as as good as anyone who wears them today.
to be fair earpieces are not necessary when there is some of the worst playback performances on show. I am especially looking at you- Ricky van Sheltons Piano player! I blame the cma. Alan protested it years later, by having his drummer mime without sticks :0
It sure was a great country music award show, not like this today. It was wonderful to see Sarah Cannon, "Minnie Pearl," in the audience, seeing George Jones, Tammy Wynette, O. T. Gosling, Roy Rogers, and Tennessee Ernie Ford (very well deserved award) too. I love Ricky Van Shelton's singing, saw Bettye (his wife). I liked Randy Travis and Reba Mctrye as hosts. (There are the ones we miss now, but the music they left.) From a Nashville girl. MUSIC CITY USA PROUD!
back when country was still country!
Clint is a great singer. And,a nice guy too.
congratiolions to George strait for winning the entertainer of the year
Thank all of you for sharing this music , it never gets old , now in the year 2021 . Still amazing love all of this music.
country music now has turned to pop. it is crap. Alano Jackson even walked out on the awards
And 2022💕❤️♥️☘️
Now THIS is a country music awards show! Such a great variety of artists nominated and performing, and so many iconic songs performed and nominated, as well. I absolutely love the late 80's/early 90's stage design in this particular show, too. I actually remember bits and pieces of this show from when it originally aired when I was only five, particularly Vince Gill performing and George Strait winning in the end. Thanks for this great upload!
Country should be true likei it used to be!!
1990! Wow, those were the good ole days. Tanya Tucker really nailed that song!!
Yep, for sure. I saw Tanya Tucker in 1986 when I was in the army stationed in South Korea. She came over with the USO and put on a July 4th show at our base, Camp Howze. I believe that period was when she launched her comeback. Man it still remains one of the best performances I ever saw. And I have been to a many Rock and Country Concerts in my lifetime.
Congratulations Tennessee Ernie Ford
Golden era for Real country music
Vince Gills voice is haunting, and He and Patty harmonise so perfectly.
Seeing how excited Tennessee Ernie Ford's wife was when he was surprised with the Country Music Hall of Fame induction was so heartwarming. One of the many beautiful moments in this amazing awards show.
One of the best
What a different time. I miss it
Real country music❤️ Keith Whitley was one of the best…these are some of the greatest I grew up with ❤️☀️
Omg I lost my crap when George Jones and Tammy Wynette came out with Randy Travis!
Country isn't country without these artists. I love these award shows they are the best. So sad to know that so many of the older singers are gone.
Not forgotten as singing angels in heaven
that what happens we die 🙈
Who’s here after watching Alan win the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award on the 2022 CMA Awards
Back when Country Music was GREAT miss this
Okay! I can’t stop watching this! It’s just absolutely amazing!! ❤️
Never got any better than mother and daughter singing together country now they were country all the way. Back then it was country like it was suppose to be. Now these young one coming up call themselves country butit doesn't sound like one thing being country makes you wonder who there favorite singer was. 🤔 .lol
When I used to watch the show.
Roy Rogers and Clint Black could be father and son!!!
Good
They do look very similar
Vince Gill was so gorgeous then. Now he’s beyond adorable!
When Vince and Patty came out singing “When I Call Your Name”, with that sweet harmony, it was pure heaven! Angels singing from on high! The highlight of that night.
Just wow Thanks fer posting this.. Takes me back to so many great memoires.. And back when country music was real love it...
I fuckin Love You Reba, You lie, a very difficult song to sing, coming from a singer for years. but clearly one of the best songs ever sung and written. It is a perfectly lyrical song for ears to hear. love that!!!
Real country entertainment.Love Reba& her hair back then
I'm just now watching this,I was very glad I found this, I missed it when it aired.
Absolutely Great!
More old cma awards love to hear music I was raised on thank you mommy for my love of country ❤
Things sure are way different now. At the end they sang “God Bless America” 🇺🇸
If they tried that on TV today it would be considered hate speech & someone would be offended....🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
As much as you want to believe that....no, it wouldn't.
The best year for country music!
Thank you! Love the old awards show.. 1990 was one the last best years.
It truly was. One of my earliest memories was watching this live when I was four years old.
1993 was great!
It's hard to believe that this was over 21 years ago ,wow ,it makes me feel old and i'm only 40 !!!!!!!!!!!
31 years. :)
Alan Jackson
God bless the USA, it is unfortunate that your Country couldn't always live up to the words in this song I think. I know there is a lot of good people here and there is good solid land and people want to be free, and people here dream big. I just want all of you people to thrive on your Gods Country like Canada, and to live without fear and to have medical that is affordable and to be able to walk the streets wherever you are safely and to be able to have freedom of speech always and foremost, and to live with chins held high for a Country that has so many Greats and treasures in it and for you to put first the hungry and lonely. Your land is your own, each and everyone of you play a part in making your Country free and safe and happy. I remember when Canadians could come visit your Country and the USA would welcome us with open arms as neighbors, cause we are indeed still neighbors in this world. I hope for you all, safety and Gods angels watching over all of you and for God to know that the USA is still where dreams are made from. God Bless You All, from Your Level 10 Angel, the highest level Angel here on earth. Julie Ann But please, take care of your water and nature and animals that dwell in it and especially in the waters for our children. Sharks need fins to swim like we need legs to walk, please I beg you, think about that. Imagine having no limbs as a human race, how could we take care of ourselves if they were taken away. Only the people as a whole can decide what is humane and just and worth fighting for, fight for our creatures too like you fight for your Country, for our children, for their future. amen
every performance was so clear... I absolutely loved watching this.
I love this video because it is true country honkytonk music.
I am here because of the horrible CMA award show I witnessed last night.... I needed to relive a real country show
Reba has such a beautiful voice that has passed the test of time through so many years; so has George Strait & Garth Brooks. I love reall country music over the the pop-country any day. ❤️
Facts same
We sure could hear a lot more of the Lee Greenwood song now. Our country is in tatters and our faith in our leaders is shaken as we watch them take apart our Democracy and call it patriotism.
LOVE THIS HAD ME TEARING UP SEEING ROY ROGERS--GEORGE JONES--MINNIE PEARL--ERNIE FORD --JUST A GREAT SHOW ALL AROUND💞💟💕💗
Mr. Travis Tritt, is Mr. Everything. he is such a big talent, there are no words to describe him. love you!!!!
Beautiful to everyone of you Country singers thanks
Thankyou for uploading this. Coming from someone from the UK we don’t get this televised. It’s appreciated.

Keith Whitley was already dead for over a year when this happened
@@stevendudley5687went way to young
Who ever knew Garth would explode into the biggest country superstar and best selling artist of all time.
He looked like a scared little kid up there doing his speech...lol. He got over that I guess. ;)
I watched this just now, saw it when it aired 30 years ago...I remember thinking that it was a shame that Kentucky Headhunters won, up against some terrific traditional country. Thirty years later, it's obvious now that this was probably when things started turning and why we are now having to listen to crap on "country" radio. Please move on people and bring back the traditional country,,,God knows we all want it back! But, nice to see that Vince and Alan Jackson are still front and center!
True, but everything still remained mostly country until Shania Twain came along. I liked her as a singer but she was NOT country. To me she deserves the most credit for "POP Goes the Country".
I love ❤️ KH
Odd comment about the Headhunters, considering the song they performed was written, produced, performed originally in 1957 by Don Gibson and Chet Atkins. It doesn’t get any more country and traditional than that. Also published by (Roy Acuff’s) Acuff-Rose publishing Co.
And Alan Jackson has released an amazing REAL country album because he also misses country music the way it's supposed to be.
@@contentedspirit9022 I remember when Alan Jackson and George Straight got up and sang “murder on music row”..... they knew country music was murdered by today’s music!
Wow, you could almost say this was the Pinnacle of great country music and entertainment. What an amazing group of true superstars. It's so sad what they call country music today. This is perfection right here.
Amen country isnt country anymore@!
Wow ! i love Country Music with all my heart.
Now this last performance was great!!!! JUST WHAT WE NEEDED TODAY IN THIS WORLD!!!!!! NOV 3RD, 2021!!!!!!!
Real country right here!!
Now this is what country sounds like, not what they have today....some are gone now & Randy Travis has since suffered a stroke......thank goodness for you tube
Truly some of Country Western music's greatest artists.😊
Thank You for this... Was the start of New tradicionalists, great momentos and unforgetables
love alan jackson and all on acm awards it was really good
Man what talent that year!
Love the Judds
Wow, sure not like this any more, Wonderful, great music & lots of it, not tons of chitchat! Loved Tenn. Ernie Ford being put in Hall of Fame!
Wow the memories and feels. 👆🏻❤️🤗
Great tunes by the group , all wonderful singers that are now gone from this earth, or the stage, but, not from our hearts.
It is great to hear actual country music
God bless America & our great country stars; may they forever shine. 💕😎❤️
