Happy Sunday! We hope you are enjoying us being back in the shop! We sure are enjoying it! Let us know what you think in the comments about today's video. We plan on having one more installment of this project and then handing it off to Victor! YAY! Stay tuned! ~ The Roussels
Always happy to have you guys back! Love how you work. Not letting any obstacles stop you. I think out of the box with issues and talk out loud lol it helps. Awesome work on latches 👏👊🧠
I have been watching your show for many of years OLE Victor he is something else BUT today on Sunday you were shrinking the at or around the New popper lock about the same time you mentioned seeing someone with the foot peddle and I thought the same thing at the same time you said it I really like the New deal with your wife being involved great work.
Absolutely love you & Jamies content! It just makes me wish I had the space, tools, time,& money to try this at home with all the knowledge you are freely doling out! Much love & respect from Baton Rouge,Louisiana. Please keep em coming!
Good to know it's as easy as it looks. Can you teach us how they form aluminum into car bodies? I'vee seen bare aluminum cars with no seams, hammer marks, or cuts. How DO they do that -Grashopper
With #28 out of the starting gate - Ian measured, cut, welded and shrank - but not from the job where he crossed the finish line with a door that did its job. All the while Jamie was "filming" and recording the sound that success always makes once a task is finally done. With one door complete, the next daunting feet is to copy and weld to complete. All I can say is "WOW" what a day to watch such a satisfying show. Thank you both ! ! !
Very good explanation of how latches and door poppers work. I remember Guys would put the release button under the rockers or behind the center of the outside door skin and open the door with a little oil can action with a knee! I really like the way you adjust as you go. A lot of guys will over think stuff and get frustrated when it doesn't work. You my friend will just start fabricating and bend, snip, weld, and hammer until everything works! The old "Hammer to Fit, Paint to match" method! Very old school and effective. And Jamie, Very nice editing and camera work. You have a great eye for it 👍. John
Enjoying all your stuff ! I’m 66 and at my dermatologist twice a year getting bad stuff cut and or freeze burnt of of my well worn skin… U V exposure from pretty much the same thing you’re doing! Yeah even one tack at a time it’ll get ya. Do yourself a favor man, get some sleeves, yeah it’s a pain in the ass while you’re working but not comparable in any way with the alternative… Just my opinion of course. Rock on guys !!!
YOu know .....way back in the day I installed them backwards to have a cleaner look while the door was opened........ I still like them that way. I put a pull cable with a simple key ring in the gas door which was close enough most all the time ..... definately different than what other people did but, I always loved hidden features like my bedsides lifted up to hide toolboxes and hidden features. I loved using tail light pockets, under bed or seat storage or hidden steps in a tailgate to ease loading and unloading. I even did an extended bumper rails into the frame to extend when I put my camer in my truck or had long things in the bed and the use of the reecessed hitch where pieces slid in the side for mud flaps or ?????? Nothng left alone was always a great motto ! Never shy away from a few hours of work for great hidden features.....
Would love to follow this build while Victor’s crew is working on it! The 40/41 Chevrolet top chop would also be fun to see after further work. Love the channel and my “Spaceport” coffee mug! Fun videos to follow!!!
Got to watch episodes today. Recovering from total knee replacement and watched during PT breaks. I may have watched one a couple days ago but was too buzzed to remember. Really love you guys and enjoy your work. Nighty night.
Try-storming on-the-fly engineering. It is truly a gift to be able to visualize the finished project and then go about putting it in place. Nice going you two, nice going.
Hi Ian, very good work, what I like is how you know how to solve situations in the moment that would be difficult for some of us. You make the fabrication seem easier, all your talent is evident through your intelligence and experience. Thanks Jamie for your camera work and editing, it also helps a lot to understand the whole process clearly. Thanks 🙏
Another video already!! Cool! I was wondering if the hinges would stay and what would happen for door latches. Enjoying this one while folding laundry, lol.
Awesome work of art yall for sure !!! The Ole gal is going to be a queen 👸 when she rolls out for her maiden drive her charm grace will have heads turning
The Caddy looks like an elegant European sports car. You did a beautiful job on this one Ian ! The Lincoln will be cool too! Love your video work Jamie. You two make a great team! KL
I enjoy watching to get to here all the different music you play and see cool builds. Im disabled so this is a good way for me to forget that and have fun watching.
Hey, you guys are currently doing a great job with that Custom Cillatic. You should consider keeping in with the old Skool style from the 50s style. And for the engine would be likely awesome with a setup with a straight in-line 8 with 2 duces carbs on it. Keep up with the awesome work. You guys are awesome, team.
The latch looks great . The kit that the fob comes with has 3 or 4 abilities so you could put one on the trunk or the hood too along with the door poppers Thanks. Guys
Dude after all these years of watching your fabricating skills, your awesome, dude youand Mike Valley have the same llightning bolts arm tats--- awesome
Chris from Australia. I have to say that i really enjoy the content and things are explained from a practical point of view. Some of the questions that Jamie has have a chance to go into greater details of why this is a certain why rather than rushing towards completing the final task - a chance for a pause and absorb. The Video production behind the scenes is great! a good team effort. push on guys
One day you guys should visit Australia and see what we get up to you probably already no the 55 v 12 Chevy built by the Castlemaine rod shop love your work mate .
Concerning the door latch........... You might consider welding in a close tolerance tube, flush or almost flush with the surface of the car body's jam. Then make a close tolerance pin that would slide into the tube when the car was being displayed and have the ability to slide out of the tube and be held in the extended length with a spring loaded lock ball. I think it would be super slick and get rid of the huge square protrusion.
Ian Great work as usual. One thing I always try to wrap my head around is when I see so much welding, and raw sheet metal rusting around the car, how do you prevent areas that you cannot access from corroding and rusting through? I can only envision the entire car getting dipped into a solution as you would see from factory to insure that every hidden crevasse gets coated.

Love the tips and trick Ian. Just hanging out in Maui for a few week. Jamie should know this time of year in Seattle is a good time to abandon ship.
Ian truly a jack of all trades and master of lots. Jamie great filming as always.

I used these bear claw latches on my 36 Chevy 5 window coupe, easy to install but I had to replace the wood with metal first. Fun job

Ian must be the champion at the grip strength tester at the arcade.
Ian Great work as usual. I think you both should go to San Diego and see Mike Bello. He’s quite the metal artist. I think your work will make a quantum leap.
Love the music almost like watching Rockford Files or something😅
LOCK in and Focused!! I believe i am caught up! woohoo!!
I'm glad I watched this video im going to be doing this same thing to my car thanks

Foot pedal stand for a shrinker and a stretcher is a game changer. You can put a lot more pressure on them and shrink/stretch so much faster
looking smooth
Great content, great videography. Consider an early sixties swing away steering column for the Caddie.
Oh noes! Symmetry rears its ugly head again for door latches! 😱😱 You got this Ian! 😊👍
Once again you do,a job and make,it look, easy -for,you LOL everyone else it would be a nightmare!👍🏻👍🏻
Great content as always!
