In the winter of 1937, a Reverend arrives at a quiet English village, tasked with nurturing the congregation of a 14th-century church, he soon discovers he wasn’t the only one drawn to those ancient, crumbling walls. For the next two decades at the church, the paranormal became his constant companion. Where he and others experience a relentless and malevolent force-audible whispers, violent poltergeist activity, and chilling encounters with full-bodied entities that could reach out and even embrace the living.
This spine-tingling yet largely forgotten haunting is ready to be remembered.

inb4 they ask you to go to somewhere inhospitable XD, to be honest the quality of this is on par with a TV production so money well spent!
I really enjoyed the "on site" feel to this one! I kept looking at the flowers behind you when you were talking about the flowers going missing 😉
Question: when the church was rebuilt after the earthquake, was the church and associated graveyard reconsecrated? If not then that could explain some of the escalation in paranormal activity.
Another amazing episode, Rev! Pls don't stop coming up with more such!
lovely day when you filmed that peter.
I honestly don't know why this channel hasn't got way more followers. It always astounds me why people would rather watch a group of supposedly grown ups run around recording fake spirts & skinwalkers of course in every site they visit all without blinking, but have no interest in listening to a true event. Keep up the great work Rev, you will get there.🇦🇺🐨🙏🏻🕊️💙👍🏻
I have a couple of Peter Underwood books and love to read and hear of supernatural experiences. This channel is by far the best. No trickery, no idiots running about screaming just a good, honest creepfest. I will watch this again, this time in the dark with just some candles burning. 😧😱😯👻
Watching this video now then later tonight i will run it for my 78 year old mom. She loves ghost stories.
🌸 that’s so sweet, I used to watch ghost story stuff with my mom
She loved them too
I shouldn’t be watching them at night though 😅
UK here . I have various books about hauntings in the UK . I have always found this church haunting to be so believable . Have a photo of the last lovely reverend standing outside the church with his wife . Lovely chap . I used to be a volunteer church warden for a really ancient church in Kent . Atmospheric stuff indeed ❤
I’d love to see that picture if it all possible? Thanks so much for commenting.
@@IntoTheFog looking through my books now but can't find it . Too many unfortunate house moves , lost stuff . I will try to find it if possible . I know it's out there somewhere 🤔❤️❤️❤️ I will also try the Google thing , given my advanced age I can't promise that will happen 🤔😅
The churches there are hauntingly beautiful!!
I'm going to wait till dark to watch this. 😊 just afternoon here in Michigan. Y'all enjoy. I've watched a bit,oh my, what a treat.
Great idea. I will watch it myself then later have my 78 mother watch it. She loves ghost stories.
Good plan, Christy. Great to have you here again.
@@cliffordfreeman7829 Oh, cool! Tell her I said hi.
@@IntoTheFog I did she said to tell you hello also.
It's starting to get dark over here in Scotland, so I'm getting settled down for listening to him.❤
It's odd how churches seem to attract paranormal activity. You'd think it'd happen less there, because it's holy ground. I wonder how that works. Once again, though, great video! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these. They're always a joy to watch!
I agree. I've been in a few churches that had a very creepy feeling. I was in the downstairs kitchen at my old church and was alone. I heard someone walking in high heels from behind me. When I turned around to say "Hi", no one was there. I called out to her, looked around, got a very cold chill, all for nothing. When I took the coffee up to the nursery, I found the lady I had been with, gave her the coffee. I then asked her if she had come down to the kitchen. She said she could never leave the babies alone. I told her about my experience. She told me she had the same thing happen to her, the prior week. So weird. That wasn't the only event there for me and for other's
Some Catholic Christians believe that many ghosts are in fact tormented souls of real people, likely experiencing purgatory, and they try to get the attention of Christians in particular, because Christians can pray for them and bring the presence of Christ, which is what they desperately need. I feel deeply sorry and troubled for that female spirit, and will pray for her.
All depends on the religion of the spirit though... can't imagine a Catholic being buried in what later became a Protestant church being happy about it.
plenty churches are built over older pagan worship places and I can only imagine the genius loci is a bit pissed off
Just because it's church doesn't mean it's holy ground. You don't know what has happened there over the years.

First rate production, Peter! Thank you! 🇨🇦
Thanks for another intriguing episode, Peter! Always so sad to hear of a lovely old church being demolished, no matter the reason. Living in Canada we don't have the rich history of my ancestral country of England. So sad the phantoms in this story were unsettled. Hopefully over time they have come to know peace & moved on to a better plane of existence. Thanks again Rev. Laws for a well-spoken & chilling account of a story long a go forgotten...until now.👻
Some people have it and some people don't. Dear, i must say you have it. I'd rather do nothing more than to visit your country. I love it! Thanks for the wonderful storytelling.
That’s so kind of you to say. Thankyou.
Omg I am just late. But have a good reason.i Was doing the homeless run and dropping the hot meals to Dublin city centre as i was in the same position for years..Thank you peter just what I need.Looking great by the way.❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, thats amazing.
Canadian here, back in the late 70,s i read a book on Borley Rectory and found it rather dascinating. This story you told is very good! Great jobtoo! I have walked amongst the centuries old graveyards and churches in England and enjoyed it very much. Last time i went to Scotland for a week and spent a fee nights 🌙 at Melrose Abbey. One night i couldnt sleep so i went into the abandoned chuch. When i got upstairs i heard a door slam shut and, footsteps. Talk about wishing i wore a pair of depends! 😅 anyway, just wanted to share that story. Perhaps someday if you visit that place, do a story about it. Holy island in Northumberland is another spooky place. That church was never completed due to Viking raids and then Oliver Cromwell and his lot torched it. Beutiful and hauntingly enchanted place .
Just got home from dialysis! Yes!!! It's the beginning of my weekend. Let's get this party started ❤. Wonderful! Wonderful!!
Hope it went well. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend.
The best paranormal channel by far keep up the great work
I really appreciate that. Thank you!
@@IntoTheFogit’s so good not to have an AI narration too. ❤
you should check out the tape library, hes very similar to this channel
@@daniel7767 thanks for the recommendation 👍🏻
the only serious one I ever watched. Over here it is all sensationalism and ridiculous special effects.
Love docus from UK anyway.
What a strange and spooky story of the many ghostly happenings in that church and you told it all beautifully. There could easily have been a few murders there over the centuries.
Thank you. Another fantastic story. Really nice to hear an unfamiliar paranormal story. You are appreciated!
Chilling! If the spirit really was of a murder victim I hope she has found peace with the demolition of the church. Thank you for another excellent thought provoking video.
Never clicked sooo quick!!! Love this channel.
Me too. 🤗
Finally!! So ready to ready to hear this. Thank you! Greetings from Norway
A few weeks ago a friend suggested that I watch your video "Paranormal Mysteries at Wookey Hole"; Wookey Hole caves are not far from where I live and it's one genre of video that I like.
I really enjoyed that video, and since then I've watched all your videos. Hours of quality spooks and entertainment, thank you.
Keep up the great work, it's AWESOME!!!
Cheers. Ben.
Ben, I'm so pleased you like the videos, and appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Wookey Hole 😂😂😂
We just had a 5.8 quake in the last hour here in Wellington,New😂😂😂😂❤ Zealand it was very scary and my cats totally freaked out poor things...so here I am watching something scary to take my mind off being scared out of my wits by that quake😂😆

Now that's one of the best ghostly stories I've heard for quite some time.
Keep it up Peter 😬😮
Great & creepy story. I have never heard about this haunting before. Really interesting. Great presentation, Peter, you really did a great job!
So pleased you like it.
Do you know what I love about your videos? You tell the story as it is. What I mean by that is you don't hype it up with unbelievable videos just to scare people. Love love love your videos!!!❤
My favourite channel on the tube, Peter your voice and narrative style makes the tales of the unknown even better. Absolute star!
Glad you enjoy it!
That was a great story. You are amazing at relaying the tales!
I hate that they had to tear down the church. But with people like you retelling the history and the haunting it will always be there.
Thank you for a brilliant story.
Stay safe ❤❤
Peter, thank you again, I’ve just come to bed with my back in pain I couldn’t wait, on goes my iPad ,straight to TH-cam and your the first in my feed, how excellent is that. I’m going to get comfortable and watch with great pleasure 😊

Wow, the scenery there is amazing. I live in a desert myself so I always marvel at all the green there
Thanks for the video, Peter! I look forward to your stories every week!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Listening to this tucked up in bed.
You really narrate a good story.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Love it 👍
I love listening to your stories. You have a great voice for it.❤
Amazing! That was a crazy story. Well not just "a story" but history. Thanks so much!
A first class narration, very thought provoking regarding the church's view of the afterlife and spirits and what the spirits haunting the church were demonstrating. It seems to me that rather than being mischievous they were making the point that the official view was rather restricted compared to the truth.
Nice to hear another tale from just down the road from my home village
My phone keeps acting weird appropriate when watching paranormal videos enjoyed that peter 👍
Weirdly, my Macbook has been acting funny with this episode. I had to restart during the Live.

New watcher here ! Pretty sure by the end i will have subscribed
Ah, great. Thanks for trying my channel out, Lorraine. All vampires are welcome here.
So good . Waited till midnight to watch. Everyone is sleeping and I'm spooking myself out 😂❤
I’m so glad your community is growing and you can get some new equipment. Your research into these spooky places seems thorough and is very informative. I enjoy your narrations as well.
Wow, what an extremely fascinating case Peter. It’s not often you hear stories of churches being haunted, it makes you wonder if it’s covered up? After all, they are surrounded by the dead in graveyards. People investigate the graveyards but not very often the sanctuary of the church.
This is such a compelling case, I think you and the reverend would have got on extremely well!
Thank you for this episode, it must have taken a huge amount of work to research. Your time is much appreciated Reverend. 🙏🏻✨
The goat has returned yet again
Yowser. Thanks!
Just found your channel 4 weeks ago. Your presentation is done so well sir. Shared your channel with 3 friends who also like this subject matter.
i have a family member in the clergy and have heard numerous stories of churches haunted by dark entities.. really odd
Nothing odd about it, it's a sort of fear that they implement slowly into these people. And imagination can play weird tricks on you. I once went on a school camp, I was in the group of the youngest. The older ones were gonna have a 'ghost' activity after we went to bed. Seems I was the only one who slept through all of it since I didn't have a fear of ghosts. All the other younger ones needed to be comforted. The only thing I missed out on that night was a cup of chocolate milk but well, not a great loss since I didn't really liked that anyway.
@@elysiana8889 the stories have come from people close to me and whose judgement i trust fully. you're barking up the wrong tree
@@pretzeleater1414 I'm not barking up or at any trees. I'm just saying I need a bit more convincing. Really old places attract those stories so easy and people were instilled with fear for evil. If the towns idiot came with a ghost story everybody would laugh but if it was the priest or doctor or any other respected member of the community it was all true... Just saying.
❤ Really spooky. Enjoyed it. Thanks Peter.
Thank you!
@@IntoTheFog 👍😊
This was an excellent narrative. Ty I was enthralled.
There is so many elements that were intriguing. Flowers have a distinctive feminine quality. Spectres mostly females. Music, noise, items moving all showing haunting.

Enjoy when you're out and about, I like yr daytime walk about with chat. 🥰👻
Excellently presented. I’d never heard of this one before. Fascinating 😮
I got MAJOR chills during the "wild and frantic" hug description.
Thank you for the map -- it's helpful for viewers, such as myself, who are not familiar with English geography.
Glad it was helpful!
The idea that anyone would destroy such an old, historic building, is more barbaric and horrifying than any story of stabbing and haunting.
What a beautiful setting.
What a wonderful storyteller he is!
Well done, Peter. Great story.
Excellent video, so much better than some of the over the top paranormal channels that are out there. Keep up the great work Peter.
Love the outside filming adds loads more atmosphere.😊

I love this channel so much and am so excited when there's a new episode. I'm very interested in UK and Celtic history, and can't wait to visit.
Glad you enjoy it!
Loved the story and that you filmed it outdoors! The sound was awesome! Churches are weird places, too much different energy gathering around. Thanks for another excellent Saturday tale! ♥
Never heard of this case. You did an excellent job of presentation, Peter. Why didn't that pastor ever try laying the spirit (spirits) to rest by doing a cleansing of the church? Or even an exorcism of the area?
Another brilliantly told & unusual haunting right here in Britain. Thankyou.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love, love, love this outdoor episode. I felt more drawn in than ever. Well done!
My favourite new channel. Your story telling and production values are so good, I’m really looking forward to watching all your earlier videos.
Awesome telling as always, my friend. I could listen to you recite spooky tales all day. Very few people can tell such stories without being annoying; you are one of those few.
Theirs many many Story Reading Channels on TH-cam, covering almost every topic you can think of. I've listened to many, with only a handful of those being able to hold my attention from beginning to end! Your certainly in that category for me and very much becoming my favourite voice to listen to!

Our energy never really dies because that's all we all are star dust energy.
When we die we continue as energy some other place, however when someone dies a horrible unjust death, that energy stays in that place.
Maybe that's what happened here. Thanks Joel.
Consciousness, that’s what we are, and that never ever dies, we’re immortal!👍❤️
And where did you glean this info from ?
Awesome mysterious story. Loved and will make me give the side eye to old churches. Now I must wait and wait until you post again....well, thank goodness for the other older videos. I'll watch again. About have them memorized 😊
I don't know what is chilling me more my ice cold glass of Irn Bru or your story?
Ha ha! good old Irn Bru.
Sooooo, good. Perfect rainy afternoon video.
Superb. Thank you Peter! A very intriguing story and brilliant narration as ever!
It's good to see you out and about! 😊
Yep! Turns out sunlight doesn't kill me. RESULT!
Great video as always Peter. Your "Stone Tape" theory regarding the 1884 earthquake in Essex is very interesting. As Borley is as you say is only a few miles away, could it be more than coincidence that its sightings could be related to some sort of post earthquake phenomenon. It would be interesting to research ghost sightings in earthquake zones.
Thank you for going to this location. It was really nice to see the old church and graveyard. The story was so great.
Incredible as always, Peter. Thanks much for your excellent production value and research on these topics!
What a fantastic telling of this wonderful ghost story, thankyou.
