Hi Joanne lovely to hear from you again! Glad you enjoyed the video and yes the rods are a joy to use and nice to have a decent bend in them too!!! Thanks for watching cheers ian
Lovely to hear from you again! It was a beautiful evening/ night for a spot of fishing!! Glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching much appreciated cheers ian
Hi Leighton as always great to hear from you I hope you are well!!! Lovely to go with Chris again glad you enjoyed the video thanks again for watching much appreciated cheers ian
Cheers Guys ... enjoyed the video as always. I’ve never caught a smooth hound awesome looking fish. Thanks for sharing your road trip guys much appreciated, take care 👍🎣🎣
Hi Stephen thanks for your kind words much appreciated! You must try and get a smoothie on your line soon totally brilliant fun!!! Tight lines mate! Cheers ian
Hi Carl we both great thanks for asking!!! Felt so much more comfortable on Chesil than the Solent mark…. New venues so much harder to fish with confidence!!! Cheers ian
Good session there Ian and Chris. I enjoyed the last mammoth session on Chesil as well but the hotel in Lefkada was on restricted mode so could not comment. Stay safe and tight lines. Mike
Hi Mike so glad you have enjoyed the last two offerings! Hope you had a nice time away too!! Thanks again for watching and for taking the time to comment cheers ian
Hi Ian, Was that last Friday from Abbotsbury, The weather was so nice that day, I fished all day and only had small bream and mackerel, a very busy day for all , great video Ian.
Hi Mel yes it was last Friday evening…. I imagine it was hard going in the daytime but the weather was glorious for sure!!! Glad you enjoyed the video cheers ian
Decent sessions at both venues well done, considering Eastney is shallow and you caught fish, i only blanked there years ago trying for plaice, you seem to do well on Chesil and i do better there too really love the place.
Hi Fred lovely to hear from you! We were relatively pleased to catch a few fish at Eastney considering we hadn’t fished it before but we feel like you do much more comfortable on Chesil! Chesil from Abbotsbury to Portland our favourite fishing spots in the Uk! Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers ian
Great video as always ! Ive been watching your videos a number of years now and ive have learned a lot from you , and people like wayne hand so thank you. You have been fishing that beach 40 years wow ! Thats having love for that great beach you and chris are chesil beach fishing legends for me ! I look forward all year to go fishing there and every day i think about it 😂 my missus says lifes trobles just melt away from me when im there , and for sure its my favorite place . I just cant wait till july and august when im finally there again . Best wishes and please keep the great videos coming 👍
Hi Richard lovely to hear from you! So pleased you enjoy the videos and that you have learned the odd thing or two! Chris and I both in our 60s now but still love fishing Chesil as much now as we did years ago! It’s definitely a place where life’s cares seem to fade away!! Good luck on your trips this year thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment much appreciated cheers ian
hi gents. good session that , your right ian knowing how to fish these venues is important for success well done to you both some nice hounds and bass there . take care gents see you soon
Hi Tony for sure knowledge is everything you can’t really expect to go fish somewhere new and bag up. But as soon as I was on Chesil next evening and saw the conditions I knew an early fish was a good possibility and so it proved within ten minutes. Yet on Eastney I didn’t feel at all confident of anything except weed!😂😂😂 take care mate still loving your videos cheers ian
Nice sessions , always nice to pull a fish from a new mark, and some lovely size fish out of chesil, great couple days fishing. Appreciate both your efforts 🎣👍🏼
enjoyed that , i have fished the solent 2 times for stingrays without any luck it is weedy as hell on some tides , you had another great session on your private mark on chesil , got me turning green i need to get back down ,but im still chasing carp , keep the vids coming they make my day ,ATB les ps ,nice to see chris back out
Hi mate yes apparently stingray were about at Eastney though how you fish in that weed is beyond me😡😡😡 I couldn’t fish there on a regular basis it would do my head in!!!! I think the secret on Chesil is keep the rigs simple have great bait use small hooks and fish dusk and darkness. Good luck with the boilies and dog biscuits Les!😂😂😂 cheers ian
Hi Danny yes I’ve been lucky to get a few this month… it’s a lovely time of year to go fishing with the long days and warm weather!! Thanks again for watching cheers ian
Hi Steve lovely to hear from you. We were a bit disappointed with Eastney the only time we got tide and bites the weed was horrendous. Tide slowed the weed wasn’t so bad but no bites. I’m sure local knowledge would help… we far more comfortable on Chesil!😂😂 thanks for watching cheers ian
Ian Clark Fishing I'm local to Eastney and am far more comfortable on Chesil! I fished browndown last Friday and weed was an issue at all ranges.. joys of The Solent. Look forward to the next video. 🙂
Great to see Chris back on the beach after his monster Brean bass and in the fish , and you too Chris - As always an enjoyable watch and it shows the beauty of simple rigs and good bait (something I should learn !!)
Lovely to hear from you again! Yes Chris back on the bass but not quite his usual size!😂 Totally agree with you about rigs and bait… a simple pulley is hard to beat 95% of the time and the rag we got was top quality too I just knew I was going to get an early fish!! Confidence definitely a big factor in life and fishing too!!! Cheers ian
Hi Ian that’s a great size smoothie you got there! Regardless of size it’s that first couple of seconds of the take that I enjoy most…. Could be 15lb or 5lb they always hit and run!! Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers ian
I like the pulley rig due to being very cheap and easy to make however you can lose plenty of fish on them due to the free moment from sliding up and down on a swivel or a pulley bead. Try a pulley dropper rig so much better and you feel more of the fish and only requires a bend clip and an extra swivel over a standard pulley rig like you are using.
Ah Stephen I’m so sorry you had such a bad time of it ☹️ That session was on Friday….Chesil can be very fickle as I’m sure you know. In this bright weather I really don’t look to start fishing until 7 pm earliest. Small hooks good ragworm are essential but even then if the fish don’t show everyone struggles. Better luck next time thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment cheers ian
Hi Lee I would start with quality ragworm as a first choice with a tiny strip of squid on the end. Kamasan b940 short shank hook size 2 . I would happily fish just that to be honest if the fish are there that will catch them!! I would definitely fish last 2 to 3 hours of daylight and a few hours into dark rather than just daytime. Good luck cheers ian
@@ianclarkfishing one other thing, are the bass more catchable really close in ie just pass where the waves break or a little further out. I seem to get good results very close to the waters edge.
Hi Malcolm no he still smokes for fun I guess I videoed him in that one minute gap between fags!😂😂😂 glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment cheers ian
I would say I'm sure that small bass did not have to be dragged up the pebbles! Why not take your legs near to water and pick it up ever thought about damage to fish?
Great skills , loved it new rods look good.
Hi Joanne lovely to hear from you again! Glad you enjoyed the video and yes the rods are a joy to use and nice to have a decent bend in them too!!! Thanks for watching cheers ian

Some great fishing, I always think the 7-9lb Starry fight the hardest. My PB is a 16lb 4oz common, but I'd rather catch the 7-9lb starrys.

Fishes well through LW and the initial flood for rays and the rest of the flood for everything else.
Hi mate unfortunately for us it didn’t fish well at any state of tide!😂😂 hope you’re well catch up soon cheers ian

I fished Chesil and it was very poor we fished from Friday to yesterday beach was busy but no one brought a fish out

Thanks for the effort you put in nice to see your mate back I did notice that Chris didn't seem to have a fag has he stopped

The only thing you did wrong fishing Eastney was fishing Eastney 😂….fishing there is generally not great.
