As you discovered, charging on the road is expensive. When we charge at home it cost around 15 cents per kWh but many roadside public chargers cost up to 48 cents per kWh.
Also, CCS chargers are often out of order or charge at lower speeds than advertised. The good thing about the EV6 is that it is the one of, if not, the fastest charging EV out there.
Be careful when using 'Highway Assist System'. While it works great most of the time you really have to be ready to take control at all times.
Guess you know, after editing your video that the audio at many parts was hard to hear. Perhaps you'll get that worked out for your next video.
You were brave to just go out and rent an EV and not really do much planning ahead. As an EV owner you quickly learn to check your route for superchargers using various apps that are available for free online for your mobile phone or computer/laptop. I think one of those chargers you had to use was a 'level 2' and thus has a very limited slow charging speed.
One other note, if you decide to rent or buy an EV again.. charging speeds drop very quickly after your battery gets up over 60% and above 80% the charging speeds really slow down. Its part of the charging design. Glad you enjoyed the ride in the EV6. Mine is an EV6 gt-line awd. More power than I really need but hey... Great car.
Thank you for watching the video , the EV6 is one of the best Electric vehicles I’ve driven so far . I will be renting and reviewing more EVs. And you are right charging from home is cheaper and you do get a lot of ccs chargers out of order , it’s great that you got the gt line. One day I would like to get my hands on one todo a review
